Tobias was shocked that Renee actually did mean they were going to the Asian Star, heKd truly expected her to drive out in the middle of nowhere and dump him there and leave him to find his way back, so yeah.. He had the right to be surprused.
Renee glanced out the corner of her eye, seeing his expression of awe. "Don't be that surprised. I'm starving and I skipped Breakfast." She pulled onto the side of the road. Honking cars sped fast, making getting out a danger zone on her side.
"I can't help it, you cease to amaze me," he replied, his hands gripping into the edge of his seat, to say he was terrified of Renee's driving was an understatement, he wished she did just drive off without him.
Renee smirked, "I aim to please," with of course, sarcasm lacing her words as she timed her exit with the fast cars. In a blink, she opened her car, got the keys out and slid over the roof onto Tobias's side, dodging a truck. Renee couldn't help but laugh at the stunt.
Renee knocked on his glass, a smirk taking her lips. "You coming?' Without another word, she started for the entrance to the popping red restaurant. Already the smell of the food had made her mouth water.
Tobias smirked as she tapped on his glass, before she had gotten too far away he opened his passenger door, it colliding with her rear, he knew it wouldn't of hurt her, he was just mucking around. Unbuckling his seat belt he slid out closing the door, chuckling at her reaction, and made his way into the Chinese place, the aromas assaulting his nose, but in an almost sensual way.
God it smelt amazing..
God it smelt amazing..
Renee was an expert at demon eyes and Tobias deserved them all the way. She entered beside, seemingly innocent... till she stomped on his foot hard with her heel, right in the pressure point. It was such a quick movement, no human saw it. "Now, let's look at the menu," she said with false glee, mocking him back.
Tobias wasn't entirely focused on the possibilities that Renee would attack him, perhaps it was because he was just regaining normality again so perhaps he had a defense.
A low but quiet growl exited his chest as Renee stomped on his foot.
Moons sake! he growled through a single link to Renee, following her to the table with a slight limp.

"What?" Renee looked back, having the perfect feign of innocence in her eyes. She sat down, the waitress ahead of her smiling and handing two menus. She was a small, asian girl with her hair tied into a bun at the nape of her neck. "Are you two dating?" She winked with a conspiracy smile. Her accent was still there.Renee, taking a drink of water literally choked.
Tobias was close at her heels, glaring at her in a almost fierce manner, before taking the seat opposite her, offering a brief yet forgetful smile. He gazed at the menu, ignoring Renee completely and entirely before he heard the waitress's question. He smirked, glancing towards Renee as she choked.
Pay back..
"Yeah, we've just realised its stupid ignoring what we have," He answered with a smile, moving his chair closer to Renee to wrap his arm around her shoulders to pull her closer to him, "Don't choke princess," he grinned, but within his eyes you could see the wicked glint as he pounded her back somewhat roughly.

Get your hand off or I swear, I'll kill you. A growl escaped her throat as her eyes went with a goldish tint. The waitress, oblivious to this, laughed, "People always say opposites attract yes? I'll give you a few minutes." She practically skipped away.Renee caught his wrist from her back and almost snapped it, her face was up next to his, menacing. "You're paying now. I would but since someone is being a total asshole," she smirked as she let go with a flourish, trying to scoot away.
Tobias held back a smirk as the waitress made her merry way, leaving the 'young couple' to order. He ignored her mental warning, she threatened him on such a daily basis he no longer cared, he had already began to remove himself from her as she grabbed his wrist.
He was tempted to hiss in pain as she twisted it, though he had schooled his features into that of a blank mask, as if her torture did not affect him in the slightest.
"I always pay on the first date," he mocked, kicking her chair so it skidded away from him, regaining some space for both of them.

Renee's hands clenched on the seat of the chair, curling around it, hidden claws sprouting out. "Oh, my bad. Didn't take you for a gentleman." More like a savage, she thought to him, a small smirk on her face.
Tobias was already nosing around the menu, he already knew what he'd buy, his absolute favourite; honey chilli chicken with egg friend rice and prawn crackers, simply delicious.
"Many don't, it's the tattoo's I believe, misleading." he returned, his voice airy as if he weren't truly listening.
Savage, I like the sound of that, now put your claws away kitten, don't want you scratching the furniture

"Says the little baby savage that already messed up the house," she retorted back, scoffing. Renee picked up a menu, holding it up to hide her face, not that anything showed through it. Orange chicken, white rice, and noodles. Simple. Renee Forest burned through calories too easily as well as Carbs. She always had to fit in some extra here and there.
I'm glad you think I look young, I thought your household needed stirring up, I actually have to talk to Fenris about that, thank you for reminding me.
Tobias closed his menu and placed it on the table, he gave Renee an expectant look, raising his eyebrows in a questioning motion, "Any ideas my love?" he asked, his tone was smug and teasing as he finished the sentence.
The small waitress who had given them the menu's returned, smiling gleefully, it was quite sickening if he was being truly honestly, but he didn't allow the waitress to see it, though he was sure Renee could feel it coming off him in waves.

Renee gritted her teeth, suddenly her appetite was with her anymore. She kept her mien calm and collected, sliding her gaze to the waitress. She might as well order, and if she didn't finish it, at least Tobias would have to pay for it. "Orange chicken, white rice, and noodles." She let a small smile to reassure the confused waitress, who just started to figure out they may not be a real couple.
Tobias was surprised by how easily irked Renee was today, perhaps he should lay off a little now, he'd had his fun, and he was also toying with the mindless waitress, which was cruel, but yet hilariously funny.
"And a Honey chilli chicken, with egg fried rice and prawn crackers please," he added, handing her their menus since she had her hand outstretched for them.

Renee didn't say anything as Tobias snatched the menu out of her hand and instead leaned back into her chair, turning her head away to survey others. It was clear she was trying to make a point to him, the silent treatment. The waitress wrote it down and scurried away to place the order at the kitchen.
Renee's auburn hair framed her face, not shielding it like it usually did, a curtain most of the time.
Tobias did not resist the temptation of eye rolling, he sat momentarily in the pointed silence between them, it was difficult to sit in, he had never been one for long moments of uncomfortable silences, he had endured them too many times when he was younger.
"You're eighteen Renee, not eight, grown up," he told her quietly, he didn't want to draw any attention to them, especially since Renee didn't seem entirely in control of her claws, thanks to her previous episode with scratching the red lacquer chair.

Renee's claws sunk back in, disappearing but she didn't respond any longer. Her thoughts had wandered through their silence and a grim look was on her face as she thought of the vision she had while being poisoned. I gave you a gift of darkness.... The words echoed coldly in her mind.
Tobias sighed heavily, tutting at her childish behaviour, his arms crossed over his chest as he glanced around the place, it was pretty busy today, perhaps they had the same ideas as them after the funeral, quite a few were still wearing their mourning outfits.
He glanced back to her to point this out when he noticed the grim look across her features, at first he didn't think anything of it, but thought it best to pull her thoughts from whatever she was thinking.
"If the wind changes your face will be stuck like that, I know it'll be an improvement, but still,"

"If the wind changes your face will be stuck like that, I know it'll be an improvement, but still,"
Her face didn't change a bit, her mind wandering aimlessly somewhere else. The only movement of fear as she seemed to be replaying the vision, was her hand shaking on the table, little twitches, something no human would think of, but for a were?
Tobias glanced around quickly making sure no one had been watching the couple at their table, thankfully not. Tobias gently probed at Renee's mind, coxing her to listen to him, his eyes fixated on her trembling hand.
Renee, listen to me, look at me he murmured, though they were of the same ranking he still used authority in his voice, he knew if she was there she'd turn to him, she'd think he was thinking too much of himself and that'd she'd have to put him in his place.

Renee blinked once, then twice, the sounds rushing back to her. Laughter, conversation, the little clash of silverware meeting empty plates. Her gaze slid to Tobias silently. What was surprising was that she couldn't hold his gaze, feeling heat rush up in her. He knew. She let herself show a sign of weakness. Her trembling hand curled into a fist. "Excuse me for a moment." Renee's words were whispered, rushed, as she stood, briskly striding for the bathroom. Cream walls stood out to her. No one was in the bathroom, just her and her gaze flitted to the lock on the ebony door. Should she lock it? No, she reasoned with herself. Walking over to the sink, she leaned against it, her head seeming to spin.

Tobias gazed silently to Renee, he was curious to know her inner turmoil, but he wouldn't pry he'd probably get an ear-full if he did anyway.
When Renee excused herself he felt like following her, making sure she was okay, but then he noticed her escaping into the woman's room.
Renee, are you okay? He asked gently, his voice came across soothing and hesitant, he didn't want to be too nosy but then again why not live up to her low expectations anyway.

(view spoiler)Renee took steady breaths, trying to regulate herself, to her cool image. Her eyes stayed chocolate brown and she pushed herself off the counter and headed out. "Mhm."
Right then, the waitress carried their food to the table. Talk about timing.
Tobias had actually been talking to a young pup at the time of Renee's reappearance, the two had been talking about Spongebob Square pants, but this was only due to the fact Tobias picked up the little ones toy when he'd dropped it.
"My favourite is Patrick," Tobias informed the young boy, who's name he had discovered to be Lucian, but more likely to be known as Lukey.

Renee sat down, amused. "Is it because your IQ matches his? Renee was very careful not to laugh as she picked up her chopsticks and started to pick at her food, trying to find her appetite again. Meanwhile, her eyes met the boy's. "Hello," she greeted, voice warm and genuine.
Tobias' eyes flickered to the side as he saw Renee return to her seat, about time.
I'm sure his is slightly higher he sighed, continuing their conversation for a little while longer, Tobias handed the little mite a prawn cracker which he munched on messily, but he was only four by the look of him.
Lucian glanced up to Renee, grinned boyishly as he ate the cracker, waving his hand which he held his spongebob.
"Hey!"

"Hey!"
"Nice spongebob," Renee replied enthusiastically. She bit into the orange chicken, savoring the tanginess before looking at Tobias. For once, I can agree.(view spoiler)
"Thanks," he chuckled as Tobias ruffled the boys sandy blonde hair.
"Okay Lukey, go back to mummy," he told him, tapping the boys back to urge him back to his parents who watched with smiles on their faces, many parents had that expression when their children spoke to the Beta's, it was odd.
Returning to the table, Tobias avoided the chopsticks entirely and picked up the knife and fork, digging into his honey chilli chicken, his mouth watering at the explosion of taste on his tongue.
Making progress!

(view spoiler)Renee waved with a smile at the parents, ruffling the kid's hair as he started to walk off. Her eyes met with Tobias, for a second, bright and happy. Her mien sobered then, taking another bite of the hot delicious chicken.
"Someone looked happy there," Tobias said in mock horror, gripping onto the table cloth in a melodramatic way, his eyes wide with shock and false terror.
He smirked after his little moment of the theatre, before continuing with his food, his stomach roaring in appreciation.

Rolling her eyes, Renee focused on her food. She couldn't help the smile on her face though, something about that little display had set her laughing inside. Perhaps it was because what he did was so Nathaniel, making a scene.
Tobias grinned proudly as he noticed her smile, that must've been the first time he'd ever made her smile.
"You've got a little bit on your face," Tobias muttered, indicating to her food them waving his had in front of her whole face, teasing her.

"Try your whole self," she retorted back, a glint of mischief in her eyes. Renee soon finished, leaning back, holding in a burp. Her somewhat failed attempt made her laugh.
"I told you, I'm a messy pup," he answered, licking his lips which had traces of the rich red sauce on them, "I forgot how good Chinese was," He sighed happily, giving Renee a shocked look as she let rip a burp.
Renee's head leveled and only curled into her chest with laughter as she took in Tobias's face. Cora would've killed her if she did that in front of her, having taught Renee matters but sometimes, there was always the Rouge. Her hand covered her mouth, trying to calm, as her elbow rested on the table. Renee's eyes were full of glee, her red hair coming slightly wild. The waitress came around, picking up the plates. She looked at Renee, back to Tobias, then to the other Beta once again. She let out a small smile, turning around, winking at Tobias before disappearing into the crowd.
Tobias wasn't entirely bothered that she'd burped, he wasn't exactly one for pristine manners, but he didn't think Renee was that kind of girl, it was rather amusing he had to admit, he bit his lower lip, holding back a small chuckle, well laughter is contagious.
Tobias thanked the waitress as she gathered up their plates, his eyebrows shooting upwards in shock as she winked at him, he cocked his head to the side curiously watching her, before turning back to Renee.

Renee didn't catch it, her laughter dying down, her head turning to the window where the light highlighted the red in her hair. "Well, excuse me," she teased. She stuck out her tongue in a joking manner at him.

Tobias snorted in laughter as she excused herself even though the incident had actually happened at least a few minutes ago now, that's how long she'd been laughing at herself.
"You're excused, but did they spike you're food?" He laughed, he didn't think he'd ever seen Renee this happy, it was quite a remarkable sight.

Renee shook her head with an amused smile. "I think I would know," she stated simply, her eyes alit with amusement and laughter. The waitress came around, holding the check.
"Well then, you must of taken something in the bathroom," he said, shaking his head with a smile on his lips, this smile was then projected to the waitress by only cause he was still in a good mood, "Thanks," he muttered, shelling the money for their meal onto the little silver dish.
Renee opened her mouth to object but thought better of it as the waitress smiled at the tip and walked away. "Enjoy your day!"Renee raised her eyebrows, "How much did you give her? She looked like she won the lottery," her smile grew a bit.
Tobias was in a haze, he was having his first encounter with a happy Renee and this waitress was just a bundle of joy, especially since he paid her.
"I only gave her like a fiver.." he murmured, who knew money made people so happy, or perhaps it was just because his hand brushed against the waitress' when he paid the bill, complete accident of course, but she seemed ecstatic about it.

(view spoiler)Renee had finally clicked that the waitress had a crush on Tobias and suddenly her cool face was back on. She didn't know how to feel about that. As the other Beta, he had every right as she did and that included dating unlike most members of the pack who had to date within it.

Tobias was putting away his wallet when he looked back up to Renee, something had happened, had he done something? That was his first thought, she was back to her cold old self.
"So, where to now?" he asked, his tone was still up-beat, perhaps she was just having a little moment, perhaps he was imagining it, he hoped so, he definitely liked this happy Renee.
