Hi I am Britt and I am obsessed with having a library that is full of anything a reader could ever want or need. I have all kinds of different books. Everything from Business and Golf to kids Biscuit books. I collect for my myself and my family.
Hi Britt, welcome aboard.
I'm obsessed with first edition horror novel's. Most of my books are post 1960 due to the cost of the older collectable's.

Good Lord, this is the place for me. I may still have the finger puppet books my mother read to me as a drooling baby in the crib. I've ordered Lettered Editions of books I can't stand. I once replaced a paperback I was reading because I got a jelly stain on the pages and it was driving me nuts! Once I returned damaged copies of a hardback book to Amazon five times until I got one in decent condition, they were all mailed in bubblewrap-no box. (That distribution center in Kentucky stinks.) I've already come to the realization, I will die, leaving a terrible burden of paper belongings on my relatives. One time I sat in the desolate parking lot of a closed Border's Books and wept like a school girl. My name is J.W. Bradley and I'm a bookaholic.
I lived in WV and I cried when our only Book store Waldens closed so you are definitely among friends.
J.W., welcome to the group.
I love discussing books, let us know about your prized possessions and I'm sure others will be happy to do the same.
This group will always have at least 3 active members perusing the forum on a daily basis. My wife, my cousin, and I actually founded this group recently.

Hi my name is Jamie and I'm a bookholic. My bookshelf is overflowing with books that I've read. I also have a box of books in the closet to read and some read books in my chest,i don't like storing them in my chest because you can't see them and they are harder to browse. I'd have more books but my husband has limited my book intake by only getting them at garage sales(I go most Fridays to look for books and other treasures but we all know that the books are the best treasures and the main thing I look for) and getting them from the library. I have a very hard time getting rid of books after I've read them because I view them as friends.
Hi Kevin,J.W.,Debby,JDB and Britt :)
I'm Elizabeth and I've been working on my private library for some time. I love my books and treasure my private library.
No one said Hi to Jamie!
I'm sorry for not saying hello Jamie. Welcome to our small group of book-nuts.
Elizabeth, welcome to the group.
I really need to check here more often... :-(

Hi-
My name is Kerry. I live in NC. I am an avid reader and collect all kinds of books. I have overflowing shelves (my husband gave me the bonus room he built to be a library, mainly to get my books organized). Most of these books are in the "to-read" category (and I would be willing to turn in for trade when read), but some are keepers. I like vintage books and collect first editions from favorite authors.
Hello. My name is Rochelle and I just joined the group. I love to collect books and I'm currently in the process of building my own library. I read all across the genres so my shelves are gathering a bit of everything. But my most special additions will always be the books my father occasionally surprises me with. Books from centuries ago which he fills his library with. When he finds something he thinks I will enjoy he drops by with a surprise. Right now, my favorites of the historical books have to be those written by William Shakespeare.
Hey Everyone....I'm Misty, newly found book collector. I just recently decided to admit to book collecting....I would rather like to think of myself as an aficionado of nicely bound books. I like to collect books that bring about a memory for me (so lots of children's books), but I'm also trying to re-read some of the classics. I love the clothbound & slipcase versions of books, as well as the leather-bound books (think Easton Press & Franklin Library).....I love the FEEL of a good book. And I'm trying to convince my husband to put an impressive bookcase in my entryway. (wish me luck) I am hoping from this bookgroup to share & receive information on new & upcoming versions of books that you've all heard of (specifically with some of the time-loved children's books).....I'd love any suggestions or tips on getting them at good prices! Thanks for allowing me to join!
Hi Misty, welcome to our group. I hope you post often and share your thoughts and collection with us. If you have any questions, feel free to drop one of the mods a note. My wife, cousin and I started this little group, so be prepared to hear a lot of ramblings amongst family members. Feel free to jump in! ;-)
Hi, Im Louie, I read & collect modern fantasy 1st editions, signed etc from HarperVoyager, Gollancz, Orbit etc. Would love to chat with people who collect similar. I have a blog which I have recently setup http://fantasybooks.me.uk please check it out.
Hello. I'm a Preventive Medicine Technician in the military. I love science, books, and stationary. I love knowledge.
Hello all. My name is Rich Dent and I'm running a Kickstarter right now for my graphic novel MYOPIA. Margaret Atwood, Neil Gaiman, Dean Koontz, George R.R. Martin and a lot of other writers have donated rare, signed books to help me achieve my goal of getting the book colored! I wanted to let this group know that these books are at my Kickstarter right now, and if you're interested in one of these rewards you'll be supporting my book, MYOPIA! Lot of cool stuff to share with people you might know. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
Hi Rich, welcome aboard. Please be advised we have a section for authors advertising books or whatever may be on their agenda. I'll move your post there.
Oh, thanks, Debby--I also started a group called MYOPIA Kickstarter to talk about graphic novels and any of the books that are offered on the Kickstarter as rewards (there are a lot)! Please join!
The section was removed, I re-added it. Sorry. my husband must have been rearranging the boards and deleted the old thread.
Hi Debby--Thanks. Slso, as I browse through your section, I notice that my Kickstarter has a lot of signed books from famous authors that might be of interest to your members. Yes I'm trying to get people to participate in the Kickstarter but the reality is that I have a lot of rare, singed books and even t-shirts from writers like Margaret Atwood, Neil Gaiman and Dean Koontz. Is there a way that your members might be able to see this better? I don't know if "author's corner" is really what I'm trying to do here. Also, my group is called MYOPIA (not MYOPIA Kickstarter) and I will try and have some the writers I listed above come and talk about their books in my group. If you could spread the word about that, it would be great!

Hi Rich, welcome to the group.
To promote MYOPIA you can start a new thread in the Authors folder, you can also use the Tours/Events folder. This will give you two threads to spread the word in this group.
