Penny was trying to do a perfect transformation spell when she saw another girl do it so easily. She grimaced, but kept trying.

For the next few days, Penny tried again and again to transform the mushrooms into white doves, but she couldn't! Then, Penny decided to go ask the girl for help. She walked past witches also trying their best to perform the transformation spell. When she got to the girl, she said, "How do you do that switching spell? Can you help me with mine?"

"Thanks. Why don't I show you mine, and you can tell me what's wrong with it?" Penny waved her wand and 'POOF!' her mushrooms were now mush.

That night, Penny felt a few raindrops on her nightclothes. "I know who's causing this...." she muttered. Helena, who was right under her bunk bed said, "Lilliana?" "Yeah, probably." The teachers had warned the students of Lilliana's evil curse.
"Hey," whispered Helena, "wouldn't it be cool if the two of us were chosen to fix the curse?" You see, the teachers had also announced that the students who got the highest exam scores would be chosen to fix the curse. "Yeah, but I wouldn't be chosen." Penny sighed, thinking about the morning when she had her feeble little transformation charm. "It might not happen, but it could." said Helena, drifting away to sleep. Seeing that, Penny kept quiet so she wouldn't keep Helena up.
All night, Penny thought about what it would be like to be the student who fixed the curse. She snapped out of her dream and said to herself, "You wouldn't even be chosen, let alone actually fix the curse made by a mastermind!" Soon, she too fell into an uneasy sleep.

All that morning, Helena helped Penny study for the exams. By the time the bell rang for the first exam, they were ready. "Thank you soooooo much!" Penny whispered as they walked into the room. They sat down next to eachother, and got ready to test. Even though she had studied, Penny felt nervous.

At the end of the exam, Penny and Helena hurried out of their classrooms. "Whew!" Penny breathed, "I don't think I got a single one of those questions right!"

"Well, I guess not-thanks to you! You probably breezed through that test!" Penny complained.

"But I know someone else did better!" Penny whined, "But at least you will get in too. I'll be rooting for you!"

"What? I know you're gonna get the best scores and the girl....... Jackie will be with you!"

"Of course I'll make it! I'm the best! Don't expect your little friend to make it, Danny." Jackie said.

"It's Penny." Penny whispered.
