Laney smiled widely, taking in everything as she slithered next to Jim, her arms wrapped around his.

Now what would you like to do here laney he asked

"Let's do something fun." Laney said, still looking around in awe.

Ill let you choose laney he said smiling

"But I don't really know what there is that we can do." Laney said, trying to think.

We can go to an arcade how does that sound he said smiling to her

Laney looked at him with a smile, "sounds great! But what's an arcade?"

It's a place where people can play games and have a good time he told her

"Oooh, let's go then!" Laney said.

He took her inside the arcade alright what do you wanna play he asked

"Well I've never been in one of these before so you pick." Laney said, looking around at all the flashing lights and consoles.

Here how about we start at the prize grabber machine alright what you do here is you operate this joystick and it moves that crane and you try to get a prize he told her

Laney's eyes went wide. "Really? I wanna try!" She said and started moving the joystick, her cheeks warming when nothing happened. She turned to Jim, "am I doing something wrong?" She asked in confused embarrassment.

Hold on hold on you have to put coins into the machine to make it work he said as he put quarters onto the machine

"Oh." Laney said as the machine started playing music and the claw moved around. Laney pursed her lips in concentration and moved the joystick again. The claw moved over a plushie snake and she paused, looking at Jim again. "Now what do I do?" She asked.

Now you press the red button and the claw will drop onto whatever plushie you want and the claw will attempt to grab it he told her as he helped her move her hand to the red button

Laney stared at the plushie she wanted, clearly determined. She pushed the button and the claw slowly lowered. It closed around the snakes head and pulled it up, though as the claw moved towards the drop box the snake started slipping and Laney held her breath as she willed it not to fall just yet.

the claw got to the drop box and drops the snake plushie into the drop box

Laney smiled and pumped her fist in victory. "Yes!" She cried, pushing the plastic flap open and grabbing her prize.

very nice laney you did it good job he told her

Laney grinned and blushed a little, "really? Thanks Jim." She said, hugging her new toy to her chest.

what else would you like to do now he asked her

"Show me some of these other games." Laney said, gesturing around with one hand.

well over there we got first person shooters they got puzzle games over there and there the got games where you toss a ball down a lane and try to land it in a hole for points he told her he looked over and seen a room where people were boxing well thats new he said

"What are they doing?" Laney asked curiously and pointed to the people boxing.

its a sport called boxing where two people get into a ring and see who can be the last one standing i used to take kick boxing classes back when i was in the military he told her

Laney's tail twitched as she looked at Jim, not understanding. "Why would anyone do that?"

like i said its just a sport people take an interest in he said as he walked towards the boxing area

Laney was unconvinced but she said, "if you say so.." She didn't know much about humans and who was she to judge their entertainment?

jim walked over to one of the refs hey how much to be in the ring he asked the ref 15 dollars the ref said

Laney looked on wide-eyed as Jim talked to the ref.

jim looked at laney laney you alright something seems to trouble you whats up he asked

Laney hugged her snake, "I'm okay." She said and bit her lip. "Are you going to box?" She asked.

im considering it he said to her are you afraid something might happen to me he asked her

Laney chewed her lip. "I don't know, I know you're really strong but......"

whatever is on your mind laney you can say it he told her

"Those other guys look so mean! And I can hear them, they don't fight fair. That guy over there," she said and pointed to the man coaching the main boxers "keeps telling them to 'take cheap shots' whatever that means but it doesn't sound fair." Laney said.

jim put his hand on her shoulder and looked her in the eye laney i assure you i will be alright and dont worry bout those guys they are no match for a navy seal he told her giving her a smile

Laney looked into his eyes and nodded, "okay." She said, still a little uneasy. "Do your best!" She yelled when he turned to talk to the ref again.

alright im in he told the ref as he gives the ref 15 dollars alright what size shorts do you wear the ref asked him medium jim responded the ref gave him a fresh clean pair of medium shorts the changing room is through this door to your left the ref said as jim headed through the door he got changed and came out of the changing room wearing the shorts that the ref gave him he then entered the ring hey arent you gonna use gloves the ref asked no i'll stick to kick boxing jim replied he then looked at laney through the glass and smiled

Laney smiled back nervously. She knew it was only a sport but fighting of any kind still made her a little uneasy.

he turned to face his opponent the ref brings them in alright boys i want a good fight no below the belt hits keep it clean and let the best man win the ref said as he stepped back as the bell rang jims opponent threw several jabs but none of them then jim threw a left jab that caught his opponent off guard and struck his opponent in the jaw then jim raised his right foot and kicked his opponent in the face knocking him out is that it jim asked

Laney blinked, it happened so fast. One moment the man was throwing punches at Jim and the next he was on the ground with Jim standing over him with an almost disappointed look on his face. She smiled and cheered, happy that Jim was alright.

the ref came up to him do you want to go again the ref asked jim though about it yea sure one more he told the ref then the ref brought another opponent the challenger got into the ring and stood in the corner

Laney hugged her snake plushie tightly as she looked on nervously.

the bell rang he opponent quickly struck jim with 2 jabs to the face he then took a couple steps back after the jabs to the face he then looked at the opponent then as his opponent took a couple steps towards jim caught him with several jabs 3 to the face and 4 to the gut he then finished his opponent with a right kick to the face after that his opponent dropped and once again jim was victorious

Laney flinched when Jim was struck but tried to smile when he won again. Suddenly a man behind her caught Laney's eye and she turned. The man was smirking at her and she shrunk back a little, not liking the way he was staring.

jim didnt notice the guy staring at laney as he kneeled down next to his opponent making sure he was alright

"What's a matter girlie? Can I even call you that? You're a freak, barely even a girl." The man sneered and grabbed the end of Laney's tail making her startle and blush. She tried to pull her tail out of his grip but he just tightned his hold.
