Time Travel discussion

The chance of a lifetime has come....You found a way to travel through time.....however there is a catch.....you can only travel into the past....you can make three jumps into any past time period but only three jumps. You also have one opportunity to return to the time you are really from....we'll call it the Leap Home......the twist on the leap home is that you can return to any point in your natural time line from the day you were born...until the present day........What past time periods or events would you travel to.....and what point in your life would you return to and why?????

Can I change the past? If so, then I guess I would go back and attempt to change certain tragic events or give myself advice on how to prepare for or handle certain things.

If I could only go back as an observer, then I would go back to see in person some events that I only saw on TV or heard about in the news, like some of the early space launches or Secretariat winning the Triple Crown. Or maybe see some natural or historical sight that has been destroyed in my lifetime.

You can in theory alter events...but beware how much you might change the future

Without knowing the nature of the time travel, it's difficult to say what I would do. If it's physical, something like what they do in Back to the Future would be good -- documentation on sports events and life events and stock market events that will occur. But then three leaps back won't be necessary, since things would change for later events.

Shane, if in theory you're free to change things why not this?

Go back, three times as you said & then return to the point JUST BEFORE you first left.

This would give you another trip, as in the first time.

Then another, of course.

Etc.

Can I take a towel with me? Will I be provided with a Babel fish?
