I guess we don't all share the ability to block out traumatic experiences.
I don't think this book is in my school library, and I am being picky on what to spend money on, since summer is coming and so does Dan Brown's Inferno and I will be less able to borrow books. I might still read this if I find it online, not soon though.
I am enjoying the book so far. I just finished a two year monthly training seminar that pushed us to find our inner extrovert. It praised many of the qualities that are associated with extroverts while discouraging introverted behaviors. I work as a scientist and found it a little disheartening to be told by my HR director that I should abandon the personality attributes that make me good at what I do. I am strongly considering buying her a copy of this book.

I would do as I usually do, slink back into my little passive aggressive hole and rationalize from a safe distance. Honestly, I most probably would do that in your situation.
Sometimes these training seminars try to encourage cooperation between employees, but end up preaching extroversion.

I think part of the problem with the seminars is they are the workings of people who lean towards the extrovert end of the spectrum. I don't know many introverts who would suggest group meetings to tackle issues that generally concern less than half of the group.
I know that I could always volunteer to join the committee that develops these seminars. The thought of doing so just seems like too much of a punishment, though.

No matter, I'm not done with this book yet. I'm slightly caught up with "The Catcher In the Rye" It is such a book that I should read at least just once.
I did read the first few chapters of Quiet, It does seem very promising. It offers insight on how we can better understand people, not just introverts.
Come on, discuss!
