Nice to know about you Penelope. In stark contrast, I haven't had an international travel. But am keen to do so soon. I have been reading travelogues since quite a long time, and would like to discuss it.
Hi, I am with you Penelope, I love to travel and photograph my experiences. I have travelled throughout the U.S. and Canada, visited Europe on numerous occasions and for the past 10 years or so have traveled in Asia, Africa and South and Central America. I prefer to travel solo and will travel solo on small group tours or by myself. I am planning on doing the RV in the US when I retire. I maintain my own travel website and gallery - www.aleopics.com - and am looking forward to focusing on being a travel photographer every day when I retire. Regards, M-J
count me in! I quit my job 2 years ago and have been semi on the move ever since. Went to South East Asia and even Iraq (on vacation - a bus tour... i wrote about it for playboy. weird, but worth it). am planning on spending 20 days over New Years in Mali - going to the Essakane Music festival outside of Timbuktu (VERY EXCITED!). fave travel books: PJ Orourkes Holidays in Hell
and
A.A. Gill Is Away
I started my own travel blog (its a little odd, but then again, who isn't) http://redneckroadtrip.tumblr.com/
(I'm trying to break the stereotypes of rednecks...).
Meanwhile, funfact: just went to market with a travelogue book proposal and was shot down despite my last book (a novel) getting on the bestseller list. Apparently travel books don't sell particularly well.
Penelope, I am a travel bug too. I have traveled in 33 countries and hope to afford to add a few more. My favorites are for easy traveling and scenery: Poland, Germany and Switzerland. For exciting and different countries: Russia, Kazakstan, Bulgaria and Romania.
Paula, I only had time to read the current and the first of the older blogs on your site. OMG! I have not laughed so much and so hard in ages. MOVE OVER BILL BRYSON!
