Unapologetic_Bookaholic I am SO in love with this series I am re-reading it. Starting in May 2009 with Fantasy Lover. I would love for anyone other fans (new and old) to discuss this series with me as I re-read it.

Currently reading: The Dark Hunter Companion Guide

Susan (ofearna) well, I was able to get my sister hooked as revenge for my teenage years...

Unapologetic_Bookaholic why? what did she do? lol.

message 4: by Susan (new)

Susan (ofearna) made fun of me for YEARS for reading "books with ugly covers" and actually dared me in the 10th grade to read Princess Daisy -- which I did . In class. eeek

Unapologetic_Bookaholic OOOhh IC. I had a similar reaction. My Mom could not STAND that I love horror. She judged the books I read for years on end. The gory/sick horror novels. But I never paid much attn to the covers. i'd pick up a book and flip it over to read the back. So it never occurred to me what my Mom was freaking about. Until some time later I actually LOOKED at some of the covers. LOL.

Susan (ofearna) yeah, but did you find yourself sitting in Geometry class reading a very intense lesbian sex-scent in the 10th grade? No!

Unapologetic_Bookaholic No! I was never into romance in HS. But if I was I would have brought it to school anyway. I always had my nose in a book. Extra Credit for English =D.

grrr there are so many to chose from but i think acheron or night play most likely cause they are the ones that spring to mind.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Anna you are welcome to join in. I am starting Fantasy Lover in May 2009.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Fantasy Lover May 2009

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Hit reply when you talk about each book so we know right away what you are replying to. Make sense? I LOVE this series. As long as it is. This has been the only series I have considered re-reading.

Perhaps next will be VC Andrews. Relive my teenage obsession of Flowers in the Attic (I loved the movie and the book).

So I will probably re-read more than 1 book a month depending on my challenge reads. I can't wait!

just remember to preface that with the REAL V.C. Andrews! The fact that she died in 1986 and new books come out 4 times a year that are .. ick

My fav VCA book was My Sweet Audrina

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Susan: Oh yes. That was a true mystery for me, lol. Did you figure out what was happening early on?

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Kenjii wrote: "Fantasy Lover May 2009"

I am truly getting excited about starting this series again. Yay!

message 17: by Susan (new)

Susan (ofearna) yeah, I have a friend who knows the VC Andrews ghostwriter

Wendalyn Peterson | 1 comments My favorite book in this series was Acheron but it probably wouldn't make much sense unless you read the rest of them. It was great to hear Acheron's story.

i agree::the first part of the Acheron book was by far the best for me:: when i read the second part i really had to re-adjust to the different style of writing::i think out of all the DH books Zareks is my fav::i know alot of people liked Valerius' book tho'::my next book of the series is One Silent Night ::i think then that i've nearly caught up::i'm not too sure whether there are any after Dream Warrior::

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Bad Moon Rising is yet to be released. I believe that is the next after Dream Warrior.

I am reading and enjoying Fantasy Lover. I have other books I am reading so I am pacing myself. It is nice to read a book and already know the characters. So I can just enjoy the writing and revisit the world and just take it all in.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Get the tissues ready.

Lauren | 32 comments oh yeah the tissues were so being used.

So far I am squeezing in the reading of Fantasy Lover in between my romance suspense and horror novels. I am not thriving on PNR so I have pulled back on the other PNR I was reading this month. I have a special connection with the Dark Hunter series that no matter what. Whenever I read a DH book. It's the right time =D.

message 25: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 3 comments I spent some time with Julian this month, I do love those DH books. Can't wait 'til august, I got the excerpt in my inbox the other day. I hope it lives up to my expectations...

Unapologetic_Bookaholic I have learned expectations never live up to personal expectations. But its good to dream =D.

I am having fun re-reading the series and will probably waiting for the newer books (if they are hard cover) to be affordable or released in e-book at least. I have never bought a HC brand new, full price.

message 27: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 3 comments The only one I bought on day of release was Acheron. I first discovered the series years ago and I felt I had waited long enough for it. I'm still not completely sold on Tori though. I'm glad we will finally get to find out what happened to Fang & Vane's sister though!

message 28: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I'm so excited for the release of Bad Moon Rising. I can't choose a favorite - I loved most of them. I CAN tell you I wasn't a big fan of the Dream Hunter books. Acheron was FANTASTIC!

Unapologetic_Bookaholic June 2009-Dragonswan-

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Elvia: Thanks so much for the comments. I think any hardcore fan will like the entire series but LOVE Ash's story. Then have their faves. I personally liked Fantasy Lover the first time and even more the second time. I will have to see which Hunters become my dark heroes (again).
