message 3: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments A lot of it depends on the specific model you wear.

message 4: by Spellbound (new)

Spellbound (spellboundreads) | 117 comments I look good. I am very shortsighted so I am forced to wear glasses all the time. I decided to make them an intersting part of my face, I have a few pairs in different styles that I match with either my mood or my outfit. It's fun.

message 5: by ɯɐɔ (new)

ɯɐɔ (camalama) Sunglasses better than my prescription glasses--my prescription makes me look like a female, wannabe Harry Potter. However, slip on some sunglasses (namely, my 8-bit ones that I CRUSHED--new pair will be ordered xD), and I look ah-mah-zing.

evie (ecie) | 4450 comments I look ridiculous in glasses. I wear multi -focals and so does mr evie. If we go in for a kiss we sometimes clink our glasses. Cheers!

message 7: by Spellbound (new)

Spellbound (spellboundreads) | 117 comments I suppose it is a matter of attitude, of how you see yourself. I've looked awkward until I decided to look awesome instead.

message 8: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) There you go.

message 9: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11856 comments My face is wrong for most styles of glasses. There are one or two that look okay, so I stick with those.

Um. I would say no for me.

Irrelevant; I'm blind without them...

Same with me. All things being equal, I wish I had perfect vision and didn't have to wear them. It would save me a ton of money, too ! However, I don't really mind the way they look on me. I am used to it I guess.

Spellbound, I really like what you wrote.
"I've looked awkward until I decided to look awesome instead."

It's all in the way we choose to perceive ourselves. A good thing to remember.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments They have become a fact of life for me. Bifocals since about 3 years ago. I love my bifocal sunglasses. I feel like a goddess in them.

We all know that you are one.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Thank you, darling Larry.

Hey when are you going to come to Iowa and let me buy you a Dutch Letter??? And coffee, too! Ames is so pretty now and the students hit the road in a couple of weeks, so it's nice and quiet.

message 18: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Probably not soon, as all my time is devoted to the western extremities. It's a lovely thought, though.

message 19: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Boo western extremities.

message 20: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i thought i looked good in glasses but it was an optical illusion

message 21: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i wear glasses to see far away but not to read as i need bifocals now but don't have any. i got contacts this last winter and wear one in my left eye for reading and one in the right eye for distance. mainly for sports and motorcycle riding so i can see gauges/speedo and what is out front on the road. takes some getting used to but they work.

message 22: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments That sounds like some tricky business.

message 23: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) The blind leading the blind comes to mind here.

Yes, I'm starting to feel like George Clooney, up in the air, based in Omaha.

message 25: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Awww.

Maybe one day you can have a nice eastern visit.

message 26: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Maybe. Actually, in two weeks we will be going to DC to see the smartest grandson that ever lived.

message 27: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Yay!! Super fun! I bet you are very excited. :)

message 28: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yes. I just try not to let it show.

message 29: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Nah. Go ahead and let it show.

Phil | 11856 comments "Tell us the truth. Do we look good in glasses?"

message 31: by Riona (new)

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments I look awesome both in glasses and without them. I have pretty sweet glasses right now. I also try to stay stocked in contacts, though (need to buy more soon!), because I like having options.

Amen.
Ah! The killer shoes I could buy if I wasn't blind!

message 33: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1678 comments I wear contacts almost all the time. My last pair of glasses are quite awesome, but I don't like the way I _see_ in glasses. I don't like seeing all that frame and glare. My rx is so high it messes up my near vision? But they gave me the old contact lens rx so I won't have to have bifocals yet.

And no, not currently I don't look good. I need a new pair. I liked these when I bought them but now I hate them.

message 36: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I want to see them.
