The picture thats supposed to be an asian david reminds me of the dr who episode with the creature orbiting the black hole that thought it was the devil. All the people got weird writing all over them and looked very strange. In my random news, I may have bitten off more than I can chew as I about to start making a satchel AND do a tutorial for it at the same time. Trying to expand my blog a bit.

Yes, I'm making the bag from scratch. For most things I use a pattern but I'm doing more from my own patterns recently. I did a corset completely from scratch last month using a tutorial I found online. It actually turned out quite well. I haven't ever made a tutorial before but I've been doing a bit of sewing so I thought I might document the process so that others don't make my mistakes. I only ended up having to unpick and redo 2 panels due to putting them in the wrong way around. Opps. Now I need to hand sew the last bit of bias binding to hem the top (it's easer than trying to machine sew around something so bulky). But I'm doing a bit of revision before I get back to it, partly because I need to do the revision (exams are in December and I have to know everything by then from the last 2 years) and partly to give my poor fingers a break! I lost my thimble in the first 10 mins of sewing and the canvas is really solid.
I want that cat! I might just sit here a while and stare at it.

I would LOVE to be able to make things with textiles, i was admiring some stitchwork on deviantart the other day, people are so clever!! Hope you find your thimble ;)

Here's the bag I made. Lots of pictures and instructions if you want to try your hand at textiles. Although saying textiles reminds me of my GCSE classes, slightly different there. Lots of gossiping, moderate amounts of sewing, and nothing I ever made back then was useful!
SOOOOOO Happy today! My wonderful fiancee took me to see a surprise showing of 'Labyrinth' on the big screen yesterday. It was great!!
The show was set up in an old birmingham warehouse. You could drink beer and have a brownie or nacho's while enjoying your classic films.
It was being hosted my Cinemasters (of the universe), feckin ace :)
