I have several books sorted out to read, so just hoping our bonus words aren't too hard to find. I might be a bit behind, because although Im up to 24hours ahead of you guys, I dont get the item called, until between midnight and 3AM. I do sit up sometimes, but not very often, and its coming up to Winter, so cant see that happening!
I haven't done this challenge before but have done one very similar. I also have books sorted and am ready to go. Kathy, I don't stay up that late either, even for books!I don't recognize anyone on this team either but it should be a lot of fun!
Hi im Zina...gotta check out and plan my books for this round....i have played previous rounds...I could captain if no one else wants to....not sure what is all involved but Ive captained in other games...
Hi Zina,I would prefer not to be captain this round so you being captain works for me. Does everyone want to remain Team Silver or do you want something else? I'm open and don't really care.
Im up for Zina being captain!and Im happy with team silver, if everyone else is..... save a brain drain thinking up a new name!! lol
I spent today getting baack into the GR world....Set up my spreadsheet for my books for this challenge and other ones I am currently in....I like the name Team Silver...unless someone is really good at making a new name ....
I checked into captain duties and looks like i just need to double check points posted ....I will probably do a wrap up post prior to new items being called on Friday mornings...I'm a little bit OCD and spreadsheet crazy....only way to keep track of my life on here...
Since it seems all of us havent encountered each other before....Tell us a bit about yourself & Where are you from and what time zone are you?
Im an accountant and live near Calgary Alberta...time zone is MST...
i tend to read about 3 to 4 hours a day when its not my busy season....
Hi Zina,I am a spreadsheet book junkie! I have a spreadsheet for all of the challenges that I'm in and also books that I plan to read.
I live outside of Atlanta, GA and am in the Eastern TZ. I am also an accountant, but I am now teaching accounting and management FT at 5 colleges and love it! I am also going back to school for my doctorate since one of the colleges is basically paying 90% of it - I am attending where I work.
I try to read at least 3 hours a day but it depends on what I have to grade and what's going on.
Of course, I already have a spreadsheet for this challenge and am ready to go!! I never thought about it but guess that I'm becoming a little OCD.
Debbie you are my east coast twin! LOLThats so cool...you have my dream job teaching accounting...
Spreadsheets are a huge part of my work life....
Hi Zina and DebbieI don't even know how to do a spread sheet!! I keep paperwork for all my books so have a huge file filled with paperwork on the books I have read.
I am about to be a stay at home person/mother/ carer. I have just been to see the specialist about my shoulder, and he told me I need to change my job, as a cleaner!! I am booked in for an operation probably in July.My youngest is 14, and hubby has several health issues, so the next six months or so are going to be interesting to say the least. One good thing... loads of reading time! Yay.
I live in New Zealand,or as we say New Zilan) so Im anything up to 24 hours ahead of you guys.....Its hell waiting for items to be called! lol.
I love doing these challenges, Im more than happy to participate and not take on a position of authority! Anything else you want to know, just ask.
Im thinking Amber doesnt know the thread is open yet? do you want to contact her Zina? Im glad you volunteered for the job, btw!

I started teaching part-time almost 10 years ago. I was working for a homebuilder and was downsized twice due to the economy so I began applying to other online schools and now I am turning down classes. I also teach at a local community college in the classroom, which I absolutely love. It can get busy and crazy but it's worth it!

I sent Amber a PM with the link to here so hopefully she drops by
Im a salon owner/stylist. I have two kids and a husband that acts as a third on most days. I love to read every chance I get and have been know to have a book with me every where I go. I live in the state thats the center of it all(LOL)Kansas. So it looks like we have a different time zone for everyone. Can't wait to get started I haven't play this game before so hope its not to hard to get the hang of?
Amber welcome,It takes a bit to figure it all out, but I think we;re in good hands!! I have no idea how to organize this kind of thing! Just read your books and have your items in at the end of the week! I have got my books sorted, pretty much, I forgot about the bonus items! They weren't posted when I copied the list! DUH! So now I have to go through my books again with the bonus items! Pfft.
Morning LadiesHere we go.
Week 1: Coffee
Bonus: Ghost
So remember you also need to find a word from each of the other three groups
Architectural, Animals, Home
Furnishing.
For the bonus word remember that the bonus item must be claimed before the next week’s item is called to get points.
not sure if everyone knows how to find words in a book using Google. (if you use ereader it might have a built in search function.)so go to Google.com
Under the More click on Books
in the box titled researching a topic put the name of the book
When the list of books appears, under your book title if there is Preview in blue, click on the book title.
on the next page on the left hand side will be a search box and enter the word that you are searching for, it will show you how many instances of the word appear in the book and will also show you a preview of the page.
hope this helps.
My book works for 2 other challenges, and I have the bonus and 4 words. Do you want me to post the book or wait until I finish and post my review?
Debbie wrote: "My book works for 2 other challenges, and I have the bonus and 4 words. You can post your book ahead of time, but you don't have to until you are ready to post your found items.
Yep no secrecy regarding what you are reading. Mine fits in for a couple other challenges. Enjoy your read.
I'll be reading
.It has Coffee/Ghost in it. Now I can pick any word from the other three as long as it's on the list and in the book,RIGHT? I hope I understand?
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Weather here was so nice. Finally spring haas arrived, byebye Winter...
I'm out sick today so won't be on here much. will get my book read for the week though so no worries. have a great day and happy reading.
Week 1
Book: Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison
Finished: May 4th
Rating: ★★★★★
Review:
I love this book. The world that the author creates is so great. Made me feel as if I could just step into that story and start living. Dragos is the oldest being in the world and is a dragon shifter. Pia is a Wyr and has some talents and is a shifter as well. There is romance, adventure. Good escapism book.

I finished my book on 5/4 and the review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...City of Bones
4 stars
I’ve had this on my TBR for quite some time, and my daughter is begging me to read it before the movie comes out in August. The plot to this book was quite good, but the writing was simple. However, it is YA and is obviously geared towards a younger audience. Many of the passages in this book come across as tedious lectures and did not add to the overall plot. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but my expectations were a little higher than what was delivered. There was a twist at the end of the book, and now, I have to read book 2 and am looking forward to it! I have to say that I am hooked on this series.
Items claimed:
Coffee – Page 36 – I’ll get the coffee if you will find us a seat
Ghost – Page 4- The girl was a pale ghost retreating through the smoke…
Table – Page 33 – What’s on the table.
Wolf – Page 222- I thought you swore there’d be no wolf men here tonight.
Kitchen – Page 121 – Clary peered around the kitchen…

Debbie can you include your review in the post. It doesn't have to be much, but putting it all in one place will make it easier for everyone to see what you thought of it.

Dawn, I edited my post so it is now there. Thanks for letting me know!
I read
I think its probably classed as YA/NA???
I dont usually read YA, but I did read the LUX series and loved it, so gave this series a go too.
I LOVED it!
This is a beautiful intense story about Will and Layken, how the meet, fall in love, the barrier that keeps them apart, and how they overcome it. I really felt for the characters, being so young and going through so much, at least most of the time they had each other! Everyone should read this amazing book! You laugh and cry along with the amazing characters that Colleen Hoover has created, as you hear from each of them in turn, with their own POV. I'm really glad I held off reading it, as I can now go on and read the whole series back to back.
Full huge 5★

How is everyoneAmber how are you doing with reading your book
Hopefully you can post before Friday morning so we can count the bonus word
yes ill be done later today and post. the book I planned on co unting ended up be to short so jad to start a nother book lol. guess I should check that out before getting all excited about finding a book with all the words on my first try. lol
Amber, Just remember that on the book page it usualy tells you how many pages there are in a book, and if you read ebooks, often each paper page equates to roughly 2 epages, so always check the paper pages. It saves reading a book and finding out it wasnt enough. You can sometimes read a book that has 145 (eg) epages, but 250 paper pages, thats acceptable.[image error]
I just finished a book and am waiting to see what words are called tomorrow. I also finished listening to Orphan Train on Audible. It was awesome!
I read
and finished 5/10/13.I would rate it a 4* book. I thought it was a very interesting read. I will be reading the rest of the series. All the characters from both sides were really charming and funny. I would recommand this story as a good funny devil and angel book.
