i cant lie i was convinced he was good and no one would back me up they were all just like um dude he killed Dumbledore.
I thought Snape was bad up until the part where he dies in the 7th book and gives Harry his memories. If you think about it, we all judged based on what was on the outside. We all thought because he was always mean to Harry and always looked foward to Harry getting into trouble, etc. We never considered what was on the inside.
I figured he was good, since we have always been told to trust Dumbledore, I just couldn't see how JKR was going to pull it off. I was pleased at how that was done. You can be good without being a nice person...
i agree with AsheleyAs to Andrea's comment, I just thought that Dumbledore was still trying to see the best in everyone.
i agree with ashely as well. i never did consider snape as good until the seventh book. But now that i think about it j.k. rowling was hinting at it all along.
i thought snape was good all along because JKR di such a good job of making an unpleasent character without him being evil.
i never really thought he was good. in every book he showed his good side and his bad side, but mostly the bad.
For some reason, I STILL have a hard time liking him. I guess I respect him for what he did, but he was so VICIOUSLY MEAN to Harry that I still am a little resentfull.
i always thought he was good because jk rowling likes to trick you a lot and that was a big! trick!
i think snape was half bad and half good because he tried to save harry in the first film and helped him in many ways. And i felt a bit sorry for him when harry went into his memories and found out that his father was the mean one not snape.
I never thought of him in terms of good or bad until HBP, then I had to defend his actions & I discovered that I believed that he could be trusted to do the right thing. He's always been one of my favorite characters because I always knew there was more to him than we were seeing. Lynn
When I first read HPCS I wondered a lot about why snape loathed Harry so much, and i must admit i was convinced of his evilness!but this was all before the 6th and 7th books. After the 6th, when snape killed Dumbledore I came up with a theory that Dumbledore had told him to do this. My only evidence was that Dumbledore pleaded. He begged. He would never beg for his own life.
wow that is true. i did figure that dumbledore wanted to die (well not really but you get what i mean) but i didn't think about that
I figured that if Dumbledore trusted him, he must be good. Also, I made my friend tell me if he was good after my sister let it slip that he killed Dumbledore, which shook my faith in him. But, as I've said before, I am biased, so I REALLY didn't want to believe he was bad.
hi! im deidre! but in the begining i thought that snape was bad, but then he was a good guy, but then around the 4th book, i knew he was bad and i just continued not liking him up until harry learned about snape adn his mother!!!but overall i <3 snape!!!!
I thought Snape was bad at first.
I REALLY thought he was EEEEEEEEEEEVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HATED HIM!!! EVEN THOUGH HE TURNED OUT TO BE GOOD...I STILL HATED HIM! UGH HE PISSED ME OFF!! AND HE WAS SOO MEAN TOO HARRY!! UGH!!sry spaz...hehe...
:) thats nice... JK!!!!!!!!!!!
i hated Snape at first. i know hate is a strong word but I hated Snape.I know Dumbledore and Voldemort (oops i said his name lol) trust him but wouldn't Dumbledore know if Snape actually was working for Voldemort? Snape became the bravest at the end of the book. Imagine if Snape would be Harry's father.....creep.....bad jeans
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would be CREEPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess Dumbledore would know............ Snape did turn out 2 be the bravest and then i felt kinda bad 4 hating him........... :(((((((((((
I didn't feel bad for hating him cuz...I had other reasons...like how he treated harry and ron and hermonie...he didn't have to b like that!!
That's true...................
i felt horrible when i hated Snape before. you half to admit it was brave for tricking Voldemort that you were o their side. wouldnt that be so creepy though!
Ya................... Pretty brave and creepy............. That's Snape 4 u!!!!!
And i don't mean he's pretty!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's true though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
It's true though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
:););):););):):):):):):):):):):))::):):):):):))
Hum... tough question, but i guess i knew he couldn't be THAT bad. Altho Harry always thought Snape was the one creating the problems, manny times he was just helping to solve them. The one time where i realy doubted that there was something good about him that we didn't knew, was right at the begining of the 6th book, when he makes the Unbreakable Vow. I had a farily good idea of what the "Dark Lord" wanted Draco to do,(by then I already knew Dumbledore was going to die), i just didn't thought that Dumbledore would want to be killed by Snape =S After all, the Unbreakable Vow is... um... unbreakable. =P
I think Snape is an anti-hero, not a hero. I really like him as a character, but I hate how he abused his position as a teacher throughout the first six books. He was always a bitter person and couldn't see that Harry was not his father. Still, he loved Lily and remained true to that love, which I consider a partially redeeming factor.
I agree! I feel so bad about him and lilly! :( that was sad...but he sorta ruined the friendship himself...so yeah. But I don't like snape much...but he's still a hero! :P
Well he really shouldn't have called her a Mudblood. It was rude.
Snape is favourite character because he has such a good underling story weaved throughout that it makes him interesting. When it is all revealed at the end of 7, I love going back at his scenes before and seeing how his past affects them. Yes he is mean and horrible to Harry (not going to deny it) but he is not evil especially since he switched sides when Lily died.
