Lets share any news on the actors in castle here! I will go first with some I recently heard :) Stana Katic will be starring in CBGB, a movie about a famous punk-rock night club in NYC. I will probably watch this movie just because of her. Nathan Fillion will be voicing a monster in Monster U., all the more reason to see that one . He's also going to play Hermes in Percy Jackson: the Sea of Monster. I wasn't going to watch that because they screwed up the last one, but now I just might.

Moved this to General Chat because it'd make more sense for it to be there than in the Characters discussion sub forums.
Love Nathan Fillion's voice. and he can sing too, which is always a bonus! Nathan Fillion also did the voice work for Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox; he voices the Green Lantern.
Stana Katic voices Louis Lane in Superman: Unbound ( Molly Quinn is in that one too as Supergirl )

I think the actress who plays Lanie is also doing some singing, and the actor who plays Esposito has an album, can check it out if anyone is interested :)
Nathan Fillion is also acting in the movie "Much Ado about Nothing" which is directed by Joss Whedon. It will be released in June. I don't care much for modern adaptations of Shakespeare's works, but I definitely want to see this movie because Nathan will be hilarious in it.
Much Ado also stars a bunch of other Whedon alumni, including Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker & Clark Gregg. This was shot at Whedon's house, during a 'break' from all the mayhem that's involved in directing The Avengers.
Didn't Jon Huertas (Javier Esposito) sing a bit in an episode of Castle? I can't remember exactly, maybe it wasn't Castle.

Just went on the IMDB page for Much Ado and it does seem like a film that takes place entirely in a house. Wow hmm interesting, I'm not familiar with the original story from Shakespeare so maybe it's suppose to be that way?? Anyway the film was shot in secret and was undercover as Joss's vacation, it was completed in 12 days so guess we'll see how that turns out. And I imagine they all sang at one point on the show, in this one episode where they were playing out a old story in a speakeasy or something, I didn't see that one so I'm not sure, it's the one where they all dressed up as 20s or 30s people.
Also Stana Katic is, unsurprisingly, a really really good singer. She sang at this fan convention and it's on YouTube, it's really great. I sure hope she looks into doing music one day.
I love that Whedon's wife is so supportive of him. She was the one who insisted Joss film Much Ado. It was shot during his vacation away from shooting Avengers (filming was wrapped) and right before he headed into post-production on the film.
Here's EW.com's article on this: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/10/24...
Also, I came across this article last year, and I liked it enough to print it out and keep it nearby in case I need a reminder. It's an interview with Joss on Why you need a creative shift instead of a vacation: http://www.fastcocreate.com/1681608/w...
With all the Firefly/Browncoat references in Castle, why don't they get Joss Whedon to direct an episode? Whedon is signed with Marvel, but they are owned by ABC, and Castle airs on ABC, surely they can work something out to snag Joss for an ep.
Castle: The Musical? Or at least a musical ep. Need to showcase the cast's singing talents.

I think Joss Whedon as a director would be awesome just to see what type of spin he could put on the show. Since Nathan Fillion was also on Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I would love to see an episode with some Buffy references. Unless there are some already?
A musical episode would probably be too hilarious for words! I remember Jon Huertas (Esposito) sang in one or two episodes so maybe a new episode of songs by all the actors is necessary. Haha can you imagine Gates singing? She would probably tell them all to knock it off!
Since Jess Whedon and his brother is already directing and writing the new show Agents of SHIELD for ABC I can't see why he won't cross over to Castle for one episode or two
There's an episode that had a Firefly and a Buffy reference, back in season 2 episode 6, 'Vampire Weekend'.
Joss just co-wrote and directed the pilot episode, he's executive producing Agents of SHIELD, but he's not involved in the day-to-day showrunning, that would be his brother & sister in law; Whedon's too busy getting Avengers 2 sorted as well as being involved in the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films in an advisory capacity. But it would be so nice if Castle can get Joss to drop in and direct an episode of Castle (maybe the Halloween themed one?) I think the fans have to pester Nathan Fillion to get that done.
