Have you ever heard of webook.com? I use them to look for feedback from authors. Also if you ever need an editor or help self publishing I am a self published author, editor, and owner of a publishing company. I'm always happy to help fellow authors in any way I can.
Hey James...congrats on writing your first book. I would say try reddit and the sub FantasyWriting. Also I think sffworld and Mythic Scribes might allow for posting/critiquing - I'm not 100% sure as I generally have my own set of beta readers.Michael.
Hey James,My name is Garret and I'm soon to publish my first book Genesis through Black Bed Sheet Books; I'm not sure what you write, but if you check out my blog wjgarret.blogspot.com and feel I might be able to help you, then send me an email containing a bit of you work that I might read it and give you my thoughts.
Best luck,
Wade

Apologies if mentioned earlier but try litopia.com and especially authonomy.com which lets you post online for critique. I did and received some great feedback. All the best

It may start a bit confusing, but it all comes together as you read to the end. Mr. Black is my favorite character but what I like most of all is the combination of fantasy and steampunk themes. I also love the mythological creatures featured in this book. There is a monster lurking around every corner and the vhendo is the most interesting and complex in my opinion. The characters are met with constant conflict and the threat of death knocking on their door at any point in time. I’m glad to have found a great author :)) 10/10 would read again and again ;))

I'm still a student, and I have only just started writing my first book, are there any sites that anyone knows about that are good for posting extracts to get comments/feedback from those out there on the internet please? :)
The critiques i get from friends/family is good and all, but some good, brutally honest feedback from those behind screens I think would be really helpful.
Thanks for taking the time to look at this,
