UR by Stephen King (Kindle)
Wesley Smith, a teacher at a college orders a Kindle. When it arrives, it's a pink Kindle. The color isn't the only thing different about this Kindle. Good read.

The Bodies Left Behind by Jeffery Deaver (Kindle)
A can't put down book, lots of tension, one of the best he's written in quite awhile.
Brynn McKenzie, cop, is sent out to investigate a disconnected 911 call at a remote lake house. She find two bodies and a frightened young woman. While heading back to the car, they are shot at and they then begin to run for their lives into the forest. Two killers are after them.
Deaver, in 2009, will have the 2nd in the series featuring Kathryn Dance published.
2010 will be the next Lincoln Rhyme novel.

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown (TBR pile)
I read this because I had seen a promo for the upcoming movie. This book was on my tbr pile for awhile now and decided to get to it.
A Harvard symbologist, Robert Langdon, arrives at a Swiss research facility to analyze a symbol burned into the chest of a murdered physicist. His search leads him to the Vatican, where he uncovers a plot that will destroy the church. A fair read.

Non Mystery Reads:
Cane River by Lalita Tademy (TBR pile)
A book that should have been read a long time ago. It was a wonderful read and I would highly recommend this one.
A novel of four generations of African-American women, based on the author's family researched past.

Franklin D. Roosevelt and the New Deal 1932-1940
by William E. Leuchtenburg (library book)
A study of what happened to American Society during the Great depression. It covered the political battles, TVA, NRA, etc.
I had wanted to read this book at this period of transition for the U.S.

I enjoyed Cane River also. Very difficult time in our history to read about, but it was well done.
