If you were in Tris' shoes and arrived at a new faction and were about to start a new life, would you become something new, better, would you change your name, your personality?
Or would you keep your name, your past with you and try to fit into this new life you chose?

if i had tris's name, i would get a niname.

The name I go by is already a nickname so no. But if I went by my full name then yeah, I would change it so that I would feel a bit farther away from my old faction.

I would change my name. I dont like my name (not perenelle, my real name i mean)

What would you change it to? I personally like very exotic names so one of my choices would be Onyx, it sounds like a guy name but really its for both genders and it appeals to me :P

If I had to change my name I'd probably call myself Capella

I had just keep my name, my past and try to get to my new life...I am not going to change anyways just because I am about to start a new life.

I would change my name. Probably Steffanie/ Stephanie (so Stiff would become a logical nickname) or maybe Kaspry or Kinsly (Just love those 2 names)

I would change my name, everyone seems to be doing shortened versions of their name. I don't know. I'd probably Change my name to either Starr, Topaz or Ria, they all mean something to me and come with a story.. That I'm not going to explain right now, too long.

I think I would keep my name beacause

it fits me and I like it.

I would make a variation of my name. My family has strong roots and ties to another country, so I'd take my great great grandmother's name which is the translation of my name in our language. I still follow the tradition, and I'd keep my name as a second for close friends. I didn't really quite live up to family expectations, so I feel a bit guilty about keeping the name that was traditionally passed down to me. I'd change it to the translation, or I really like the name Lauren or Clarissa if I wanted something modern, or Saraswati, Lakshmi, or Parvati if I wanted to go back to my roots.

I don't know. I think I would be either Erudite or Abnegation. I think it would come down to Lauren or Lakshmi. Love Erudite. Same boat as you.

By the way, I love Imagine Dragons. My friend told me about them, and now one of my favorite songs is Radioactive.

To answer the question: If I really hated my name I'd probably change it, and I would try to fit into my faction so I wouldn't be labeled as a traitor or something. But I would still try to keep a part of my own self because I think your former faction will always be a part of you and you can't take that away. No matter how hard you try.

Sure, why not go for a complete overhaul? Change my name to something cool like Cyrus, mix up the personality, gotta keep things fresh ;-)

I would strive for freedom from the faction system instead of staying bounded to a particular faction.

Yeah, I like Tris and Tobias together, and would hate if an intruder makes an entry to mess up their relationship.

honestly idk what I do if someone barges in! I mean I can c if the new character has feelings for tris or something and shes like "nopee" then I'd b fine...but that's the most love triangle I can handle

It was a disappointing act. Living as a factionless is better than not living at all, in my opinion.

That's true but think about how bad they thought life would be if they WERE factionless, ya know? They believed it was worse than anything they heard of and the quality of life was so poor it wasn't worth living.

Yeah, that's true, but later on we figured that life as a factionless wasn't as bad as they made it sound, because factionless were supported by Abnegation. If I were Al, I would've chose to go factionless instead of committing suicide.
