I think that there is, and I'm religious, so...I do believe that even if you don't believe in God, you don't have to go to hell. It depends on your choices....
I've died, once....I wouldn't be able to tell you, you though. I can't remember it.
Oh. I believe this is our first life, and if you make good choices on Earth, and repent for your mistakes, you will be resurrected to live again.
I'm really not sure...it changes on the day kinda. I believe in some form, but I'm not sure about what form.
That is the belief of others. I believe this is our first life.
I have no proof, but I think that Adam and Eve were sent here for their first life, then when they died, they went to heaven, and one day there will be a second coming of God, and the dead will be resurrected for a second life. And those who still live, will live for two lifetimes.
I'm sorry if that felt like I was forcing religion on you, because that's not it at all. I am just stating my beliefs.
The rules with God are that if you don't accept Him; (that He sent Jesus to die for us all) then you'd go to hell. A murderer can lay in his death bed and accept Jesus and repent all his sins and go to Heaven. How you live is irrelevant if you haven't accepted Christ. You could be the best person in the world but without God...

I disagree.
I disagree.
Okay. Jesus did not die for our sins. He repented for them that was the Atonement. His death was just an evil death.

You tell me of another God who loves unconditionally, forgives even the unforgivable, gives mercy to the merciless, joy to the undeserving, strength to the weak. Our choice is so simple. Before you start quoting scripture, is that the new or old testament? If it is the old, it no longer applies to us.

If it is from the old tesatment, it doesn't apply to us anymore because after Jesus came, He changed law.

He just wants us to believe that He sent His son to die for us because in order to go to heaven, we need to accept that. That doesn't mean He doesn't love the ones who don't believe in Him. He doesn't want anyone to go to hell, but if that person chooses to not accept God, it is their choice. That doesn't mean God loves them any less, but He allows us to choose our own path. But a murderer could be on his death bed and say, "Hey God, I'm so sorry for what I've done. I've done many wrongs in my life and I don't deserve your forgiveness, but I accept you into my heart and declare that I am Yours."
If he means that, that guy will go to heaven. A man, who lives his entire life in wrong who repents, goes to heaven. How is that not forgiving?
Liane wrote: "For some people yes, they find it hard to trust in a God that allows suffering in this world, a God that will sometimes reward bad people and punish good ones. They find it hard to trust in that ki..."It isn't as if I don't doubt. I do. Because I am not perfect. You honestly think God doesn't hurt, being unable to take those good children of His to heaven? They CHOSE to not believe in Him, yet they did good. God doesn't reward the bad, but forgives them in what they did because that person has come to terms with the wrong and chooses then to give his life to God.
Their are monuments in heaven for those who have done good, but if you don't accept Christ, you won't get to see it and that hurts God. The devil has claimed that person because the person refuses to accept Christ and therefore, that is what that person decided. That doesn't mean God doesn't try to reach people beforehand. Like right now, He could be having me type this so I might be able to offer a chance to someone who originally would not come to know God. He puts up signs, He does things to get people to believe, but some just refuse to acknowledge it.

Thousands of years ago because the world was a rotten place. At least I don't have limits with "my" God. I'd take that any day.

If a person does a lot of good, but never accepts Jesus, it is said that person goes to hell, but God gives people second chances. One girl died, went to hell, was brought back, saved, and then went to heaven.
All children go to heaven. All of them. Aborted babies, too.
EVERYONE questions God. But if you don't believe in it, why are you asking about hell? For one cannot exist without the other, really.
When did this turn into a religious debate????????????
Liane wrote: "Shadowhunter Girl wrote: "Liane wrote: "You are apparently confusing me with my arguments. Also, I'll ask again: is the action of good negated by not believing in God even if it is for good reasons..."I don't believe in a god. I believe in THE God. All of it basically comes down to believing in God. That doesn't mean you don't screw up. People who take advantage of God's love and "accept" Him and yet still do wrong...simply hide behind the title of believing in God.
God doesn't "send" People to hell. The devil TAKES them to hell because people have chosen to not believe in God, therefore having them fully under the devil's dominion.
God gave us free will. He isn't for "believe in me now or bad things will happen!"
He's more of the, "I love you more than anyone will ever love you. More than you can comprehend. I will love you no matter what you do, but I sent my son to die for you. He bled the price that was yours and He took that upon Himself. I need you to know that He did that because He loves you. I love you."
We have to pay the consequences of the choices we make. And that doesn't mean we Christians or believers don't go through things. But if you do not believe in any of it, that is fine.
But I don't think you can name any other God who will love no matter what and forgive the unforgivable. Religion sets limits of you have to do this and this here and there. God is like, "just try your best to do the right thing and when you fall, I'll pick you up and you and I can try this again together."
Accepting Jesus as our Savior opens our hearts to that of God. That doesn't mean He doesn't pick us up when non believers fall, they just can't see that it is Him holding them up.
I don't believe in a Heaven or Hell, but I don't really believe in a person just ending like that at the death either. To be honest I haven't thought very much about this topic simply because I'm okay with whatever is in store. I used to believe in reincarnation but that belief died along with my belief of God (even though they weren't of the same religion.)
Ninja: Kassi: Aphrodite ((Heartbroken)) wrote: "When did this turn into a religious debate????????????"I think it is relevant because God is relevant to what comes after death.
I am not gonna repeat the argument, but if I'm a good person, but don't believe in a god, or THE God, I go to hell?
Ninja: Kassi: Aphrodite ((Heartbroken)) wrote: "I am not gonna repeat the argument, but if I'm a good person, but don't believe in a god, or THE God, I go to hell?"Basically, if you denounce Him that Jesus bled for you. That nails were shoved into his hands and his feet. That a crown of thorns were placed on him that cut inches into his skull...
There was another guy on the cross there, too ya know. Three. One was a thief and he asked God's forgiveness and he went to heaven. Then Jesus rose three days later.
Sorry, but Shadowhunter Girl, what does that mean? Can you explain this for people who aren't necessarily Christian?
I'm saying if someone totally never believed in God, resented Him, wanted NOTHING to do with Him, then yeah. But I am not you. I am not anyone else on here so it's between Him and you.
Lo♪ wrote: "Sorry, but Shadowhunter Girl, what does that mean? Can you explain this for people who aren't necessarily Christian?"If you truly believe that Jesus never died for you, that God doesn't exist, that Heaven is fake, that Hell is a myth, that God is just a religion and nothing more.

I answered that. God made us in His image. He wants us to follow the steps of Christ. That doesn't mean we are perfect. But to live forever in His glory we have to pass the tests and overocome the trials of this life WITH Him.
I'm sure you've heard, "for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have ever lasting life. We get ever lasting life, eternity in perfection. And all we gotta do is accept Jesus (truly) whereas in other "religions" you have to follow all these maticulous rules.
How is it really that unfair? We accept, we screw up, we are forgiven, we go to heaven. Is it seriously that complicated?
And thanks for telling me my replies suck. It isn't as if you're just repeating yourself.
You can believe whatever you want.

And sorry, I thought that was what you meant. Sure, the bible has rules, but that doesn't mean we follow them to a T. That doesn't mean we have to accept Him at a certain time in order to get to Heaven. We don't have to pray with certain items in order for prayers to reach Him. God has answered my prayers pretty obviously and it is very cool. My conversations with Him are pretty personal, too. What's cool is that you don't have to try and hide things with Him. He WANTS people to tell Him the truth like, "Hey God, I'm kind of mad at You. I don't know what I am doing and I need a little help."
You can be straight up which is something I have NEVER seen in a religion before.

Thanks :)
I think it's honestly I'm really not scared. I mean, yes I would love to have a long life ahead of me and no I would not want to die early, but if I do there's nothing I can really do, is there?
I've got a friend (she's thirteen) and she's recently discovered a tumor in her lungs. One of my other friends and I asked her whether it was cancer or if she was dying, and she says she doesn't know, but she honestly also doesn't care. She says she'll refuse chemotherapy or any other treatment; she'll just accept death if it comes.
Thanks :)

Sorry for being pry-y, but I've been reading a lot of your posts in this group. You have almost all of the same views as me, except for the one on Christian. I've gathered that you're Christian (I think??? Forgive me if I'm wrong) but you don't seem like the traditional, old-fashioned Christian. What do you believe?
One of my friends' Sunday school teachers is Christian, but thinks that many parts in the Bible are just outdated, such as that no gay marriage thing.

It's just that while I sort of understand your position more (I've gathered from many threads that you are a Jesus Freak, no insult intended), I'm curious about what Liane thinks since she doesn't seem like the usual conservative Christian but still believes in things such as God and Heaven

Makaylia wrote: "What If we are all dead and when we die we are being born"That would be a cool book idea but I don't believe that.
Is it really written in the bible that homosexuality is a sin? The exact words? Or someone's interpretation has been just passed on to us? I believe God created every kind of being in this planet and homosexuals, a being created by God - If one can't respect someone created by God, How can we say we love him? God is not conservative like our minds. We believe the version passed on to us by someone people, but God is beyond churches or temples, beyond rules established by people.. God only sees our deeds.. If one hates someone, be it homosexual etc, how can God like hating someone? If he would like us for hating a being and creature for hating someone, then he is not God.
A person who is not homosexual, betrays, drinks, back bites someone, does such bad things, but that would mot count as sin but if a person is homosexual, loves one person dearly, helps strangers, kind of everyone, no cheating no lies no betrayal, and He is termed as sinner, because he is homosexual? Ahhh.. I don't believe this.. God is much more that our imagination.. He is not as told by majority.
Sorry no offence to anyone, just my opinion.

The bible was written to give insight into what God wants for us and how He loves us. Homosexuality is an act and the person should not be defined by it. God still loved them, though.
This religious debate is making me feel uncomfortable, can we return to the main topic?
