What is a song that fits the “soundtrack” of your text?

For a “4”: Did I….
• Write a topic sentence that provided the title, author, and genre of my text?
• Provide context of what is happening in the text, so my reader understands what I’m talking about?
• Find a direct quote from the text that proves my idea?
• Thoroughly explain the significance of my quote/how it proves my idea?
• Check for correct punctuation and spelling?

Ivan (ivanski711) | 30 comments Epic Legend Is the song that i choose to discribe the mood of this book for many reasons. One reson is because it is very suspensful, relating to the book you never know whats going to happen next. Another reason how this song discribes the book is because in the song there are alot of drops in the beat showing sumething of exitment in my book. This show how Epic Legend discribe my book's mood.

Jevel Gilbert | 18 comments In the book, Catching Fire, the main theme song is "the girl on fire" by Alicia Keys. The reason why I chose this song because the lyrics talks about how a girl is on fire like Katiniss Everdeen the girl on fire.

Jack Brill | 41 comments In my book "Always Running" by Louis J. Rodriguez. It is very hard to pick a song that fits the book because there are many different scenes in this book where the emotinons change so it is very difficult for me to decide which song to pick that would fit my book.

Elva C. | 40 comments In my independent reading book, "Drama" by Raina Telgemeier, a song that fits the soundtrack of my text is "Try Try Try" by Jason Mraz. the reason that this song fits the book is because in the book, the main character Callie has tried a lot of things. For example, when she was six, she went to see a play, and she loved it. She wanted be someone from the play too. However, Callie knows that she is bad at singing, and people don't like it, but it doesn't stop her like of music. She continues to try, and learn from it. This is like the song "Try Try Try" because the song talks about how you should try to do something, and maybe you can achieve what you do.

Mark | 33 comments In my book The Warlock the song that fits the soundtrack of my book is Such a night by Dr John. I choose this song because one of the lyrics are "I can here with my best friend and here I am to steal him." Those lyrics show betrayal and In my book the character Josh Newman betrayed his group and he gets taken by the villain's and now he is one of then . That is why I Chose the song Such a night by Dr John.

In the realistic fiction book named "Zen and the Art of Faking it" by Jordan Sonnenblick, the protagonist named San Lee has a lovely relationship with a girl named Woody as of now. This love is also represented by the song "Love Story" by Taylor Swift. San Lee has not been doing a lot lately in the book, but his great relationship with Woody. San had a fine day at school until the end when Woody offered San to join her at going to the shelter and volunteering to wash dishes. San accepted and wasted his entire afternoon with Woody. San ended up working so late that got grounded for leaving his mother lost without him at home. The next day in gym class, Woody kept helping San with shooting in basketball and trying to keep a good relationship with him. Besides San's sad story of trying to avoid talking to his father, this whole big section is a love story. On page 73 (Pages different on Nook), one quote that shows this love story is, "Well, we're becoming a better team. We're learning about each other. Before today, I might have thought you were a Houston Rockets fan! See ya in social studies partner. I reach back and yank up my gym shorts. Do real Zen masters blush?" This shows how San was forming a better love relationship with Woody because he is realizing how they are becoming better partners and he blushed at the end, which is a symbol of love. This also shows that this part of the book matches the song called "Love Story" by Taylor Swift. That is because they both show the message of a love relationship.

Monica | 43 comments In the fantasy book, Die For Me, by Amy Plum, the song that best fits the soundtrack of my text is "Locked Out Of Heaven" by Bruno Mars. Die For Me, so far has given me an insight of a dangerous and leery sort of mood in the text. My protagonist, Kate has just gotten over her parent's car accident and met a guy named Vincent. Vincent is no normal guy, he seems sort of out of the ordinary to Kate and she feels as if he's distant and strange. His attractive features seem too overpowering, and for some reason, he's always pops up out of nowhere in front of Kate. For instance, in the text, one of Vincent's friends knew that a huge piece of construction material was going to fall off the top of the cafe where Kate was sitting. It was a good thing that Kate scrambled out of the way, she only got a scraped knee because of landing too harshly on the ground. Kate's love for Vincent pushes her out of her safe borders and into danger and mysteries. In the text, Kate said that "The three of them were young and beautiful and glowing with the kind of charisma that justified the fact that every woman in the place were under their spell." (13). This quote shows how the mood of the sentence really fits the song,"Locked Out Of Heaven," by Bruno Mars since this song shows his feelings of love in a whole new category of being "kept out of" heaven. This can easily compare to Die For Me since Vincent is the one that is keeping Kate out of heaven because of his problems and the halo he lets out that Kate keeps on absorbing.

Michael Vu | 24 comments in my book "death train" a death person named "frog" is acting to kill his foes that bullyed him in life. so far a girl as been sifled, a girl as been locked in a coffin to die but she makes it out, a boy was stabbed by a ice pick near the collarbone. however they have all lived luckly so the song i would pick would be "Still Alive" becuase even if they have been hurt they still make it alive.

Trinity Burgos | 31 comments In the book Uglies Pretties Specials Extras by Scott Westerfeld, the song that I would pick for this book would be 'beautiful' by Christina Aguliera. The reason I would pick this song would be because in the book plastic surgery is like the big thing to use in that book if you think your unattractive, but this song shows that you shouldn't change yourself for other people and you should stay strong which I think ever character in the book should listen to.

Melanie M. (MissMello) | 21 comments My book "Drama High" By L.Divine i think the song "AInt no way" by chris brown (Breezy) best fits the Book/Series. I think this song fits it because in the song chris brown states " I ain't never fell for a girl like you With jeans and a body that curves like you I don't really care what they say, when it comes to a difference of age. I can show you all the things I'll do.Break your heart, never raise my voice."That is kind of what jeremy would say. Kj Her ex) would say opposite. Kj always would raise his voice at Jay'd (Main character). Kj only cared for her body. Kj was a jerk. Jeremy on the other hand doesn't care if she was fat nor skinny as long as he got her heart he's a peach. I think my character should listen to it with jeremy.
