Nice J.S.!

Janie Johnson Love it JS!

I like Dean Kountz I think because he is different from King. (King is the King)There were many people who always seemed to compare the 2 and you really just can't. Their writing styles are so different. Koontz is more a thriller/suspense writer, imo. And that is another favorite genre of mine. Some of my favorites are Whispers, Watchers, Intensity, and the Frankenstein series which I read the first 3.

I agree with that. It bothers me how people are constantly comparing the two. It would be like comparing J.K. Rowling and Suzanne Collins. Yes they're both popular YA authors, but the similarity ends there. Maybe K & K get compared so often because they write about a lot of supernatural things.

message 10: by Janie (new)

Janie Johnson That could be too JS. I just get tired of hearing it. My favorite paranormal writer is Graham Masterton. No one does like he does! WOOT! LOL

GeneralTHC I think they are compared due to their success if nothing else. They're the two most successful male authors in the pop-fiction American zeitgeist. I'm not even sure who I've read more of.

message 12: by Janie (new)

Janie Johnson That is probably true Chuck and I agree, But I think I have read more King than Koontz. I like them both a lot.

message 13: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC I have too. My profile stats for most read authors says:

1 Stephen King 34
2 Dean Koontz 31

I do like King more, but I like Koontz a lot, too.

message 14: by J.S. (new)

J.S. Bailey (jsbailey) My stats are:

1 Dean Koontz 31
2 Ted Dekker 21
3 Stephen King 14

I've been reading Koontz since I was a teen. I've corresponded with him by mail, have an autographed picture of him and his dog...

The Voice of the Night by Dean R Koontz is my favorite Koontz novel.
