Yeah, people might come to the wrong conclusions....

Zhanaestilinski | 46 comments Probably the City of Bones--cliche half naked guy with his head cut off lol. I remember leaving it out on the counter and my dad just gave me this disapproving frown for a good minute. But I also hate it when my friend brings her Fifty Shades of Gray books to school and just sits there and reads it next to me. I'm like, I don't know this person!

Rose (ka-tet-rose) | 37 comments I've felt the same way with The City of Bones. Haha, I left it on the counter at my dad's and he called me later asking, "You left your book with the half-naked man on it."

Emma Winter | 33 comments I completely agree! I barely ever leave my books around in my house without the cover facing down

just... awkward to read in public.

some of the adult romance novels all seem to have the same covers featuring an extremely buff shirtless man on them. That look doesn't even appeal to me in real life. I mean nobody looks like that in real life not with a little help, if you know what I mean

I was too, and I'm not sure why either.

Jessie | 239 comments I realize that quite a few people have already mentioned this, but I was embarrassed to carry around the Mortal Instruments books due to the covers. My mom actually didn't want me reading the series when she saw the covers, but I managed to find time to read them when she wasn't around.

Kennedy | 236 comments Usually not in public but when i'm around my grandparents lol books with weird names like demonglass and soul screamers and crazy pictures i feel weird carrying around when i'm staying with them or something haha

Alyssa | 184 comments I hate the fact that some books have half-naked guys and I'm walking around school with it. I would never put it in my backpack because I'm afraid it would get squished but still. I feel like people think reading a dirty book so i hold it so the cover is facing me. My friends would give me questionable looks but then i would fangirl over the guy on the cover and they would be fine.

Alyssa | 184 comments the reason i held back on read City of Bones was because the cover but I read the summary on the back and gave it a try. Best idea ever.

I agree with regard to City of Bones. The cover made me slightly uneasy and hesitant to purchase the book. In the end, I don't regret suffering through a few days of carrying around the book and attempting to hide the cover each time someone passed.

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I try to put a book cover on any embarrassing novels I read. The covers of romances for example are always so risqué, and I know a lot of people sneer at those of us who indulge in books of that sort, figuring they're dirty or inappropriate. ;)
