Why did you start blogging?

Rachel S (rachelsh) My friend, Cat (Through a Cat's Eyes) had been doing it for a while and I thought it sounded like a good idea so we made one up for me. :) Why did you start, Lucy? :P

My friend gave me a Girls Heart Books bookmark one day because her mum went to school with the owner and they're still friends. I had a look and started reading it and then found a few other book blogs. I'd been reading YA seriously for a few months and so decided to create my own. I didn't start seriously blogging until August and my blog has really only started recently flourishing. I'm a lot more serious about it now then I was when I first started it.

Rachel S (rachelsh) I wasn't that serious about it when I first started either! But I quickly grew to love it once I knew the basics! ^.^

It took me like 6 months to realise there was a whole community of book blogs let alone be serious about it. These things do take a bit of time.
I can't particularly remember why I started my blog. I think it was because I wanted it as a distraction for some things happening in my life at the time and to let my love for books flourish. And honestly, without blogging, I don't think my love for books would have developed at all from then.

Jack (jack_) Because I was reading so many other great blogs and thought it would be fun to start my own one :)

I agree with you, Rebecca. My love of books has definitely grown since blogging. Becoming involved in the community is a really good way to find out more about books and it still amazes me how much bloggers can influence publishing.
