"Lyric, what is wrong with you?"

"You roll your eyes, call me annoying, and stand up in front of the class and write down rubbish 'rules' on the board? Do you know how disrespectful you are being?" Ms. Williams said, arms crossed over her chest.

Ms. Williams narrowed her eyes. "I'm trying to help you all. Why are you treating me like the enemy?"

Ms. Williams: My eyes widen, but I let the comment go. As I let Lyric go. She'd come back eventually.

Janine: I walk back into my class, shutting he door.

Eli: It wasn't much better out here but it helped. The wall only made them quieter. They were still there though. I close my eyes and lean against the wall, taking deep breaths. I wonder why I'm so different from everyone else. except the ones in that class room of course. Why are we like this? I continued thinking stuff like this. Once again the other thoughts faded and I was alone, for once. It lasted longer this time. A few minutes at least. I open my eyes and sit down. A few more minutes. Then I'll go back.

Aria: I see Eli sitting in the hallway, and I sir down against the wall, next to him.

Eli: I look up as Aria joins me, "Hi." I look back down. "It's quieter out here." I say. "I tried to block it out again. It's like every try out of ten I get a minute of peace."

Aria: I nod. "Yeah. It'll be way louder out here when the bell rings. And then in the cafeteria? My god."

Eli: "I know. The cafeteria is the worst." I look at the clock on the other side of the hall. We still had some time before the bell rang. "I usually don't go to lunch."

Aria: "Really?" I ask him. "Where do you go during lunch then?"

Eli: "The only place that I can. The bathrooms." I say. Sure, tell a girl that I hang out in the bathrooms during lunch. That's just fascinating. "They're usually pretty empty."

Aria: "That's true. Sometimes- if I really can't handle it- I go to the bathrooms too." I say, agreeing.

Eli: I was relieved that I wasn't the only one. "At least I'm not a freak among the ones like me." it sounded more rude than what I meant it to sound like. "That sounded mean. I'm sorry."

Aria: I shook my head. "It's fine," The bell rang and I saw the other gifted kids walking out of the class. "Oh no..."

Eli: I sighed and closed my eyes. Great. I stood up, "Times up I guess." I offer my hand to help her up.

Aria: I take his hand, and he helps me up. "Yeah. Are you going to lunch, or are you going to the um bathrooms?"

Eli: I don't know if I should say lunch or not. Maybe this was an invite? "I could try the lunch room. Sometimes it's not so bad. I mostly just go to the bathrooms if I can't handle the cafeteria"

Aria: I nod, trying to block out the thoughts invading my brain. "Let's go then,"

Eli: "Okay" I follow her.
