For the Fairy Tales task, can you point this blondie in the right direction for the Grimm Brother's copies of Cinderella and Snow White.Im only finding these ones (Snow White and Rose Red and http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22...) but they are only 32 pages long.
For the first part of the task surely thebooks have to be longer than 32 pages, right?
I'm having a hard times finding brothers grimm's books for the 4 princesses. Can we read the disney books? I'm finding some of those.
I have the entire brothers Grimm book with all the tales. It shouldn't be too hard to find a copy at the library because I think the Disney ones would be considered a retelling although they are fairly similar to the originals.

I guess I'm looking at the wrong spot in the library catalog. I look for that one.
The grimm brother's book are just the original fairy tales. Some are really short. They can be found in any Grimm's Fairytale anthologies
Yep. I bought one from Amazon a few days ago. Goodreads, of course, doesn't have the one that I got, but it has what looks to be all of their stories in it.Book: http://www.amazon.com/Grimms-Fairy-Ta...
I'll think whats confusing me is how to count it in the completed tasks if we do the task twice. s:(
How to count the book? You could count the # of pages it spanned over, and count reading only that story as one book. I don't plan to claim a book or pages for the Grimm parts of that task.
Thanks Zakiya, for some reason I thoguht books had to be a minimum of 100 pages to fit the tasks. lol
Hi! I had a quick question about the Movies Only Task, do you mean the books that got turned into movies? If not, can you please clarify? (:
Ellen, yes I think that is what Zakiya and Meghan are after.Examples include Black Hawk Down, The Lion the witch and the wardrobe, Pride and Prejudice etc.
If there is a movie based on the book, I dare say it will count.
Melanie, you answered correctly! As long as the book was turned into a movie, it will work. Likewise, if the movie was put out, and then someone wrote a book version of it, those will count as well.
I have a question on 15.3 Last letter, First letter.Does "A, An, The " count at the beginning of the title?
For example:
I read:
Chihuahua of the Baskervilles so I'll need a "S" for my next book.
Would The Sandcastle Girls count?
Hey,For task 25.2 Summer Months, do we read only one book that fits each other the months themes or do we read three books, one for each month?
Thanks :)
Hey, Heather! It's supposed to be one for each month. Sorry I didn't specify that. I'll do that now. (:
Is anyone else planning to do Belle for the 50.1 task??? I'm starting to think the Grimm Brothers never wrote it in the first place.
I think I had noted down that one Zakiya but I haven't had a look for the Grimm Brothers version yet.
Quite difficult for me to find.. I got a book that said it was in there, but I couldn't find it whatsoever in the table of contents. Even Goodreads doesn't seem to have a page simply for a Grimm "Beauty and the Beast."Whenever you look, let me know what you come up with! :)
So belle isn't based off a Grimm fairy tale. But another one by a woman... So I guess we can just change that portion.
According to Yahoo Answers (whether that can be believed or not) the Grimm Brothers didn't write Beauty and the Beast as it is French.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/ind...
Here is a website with some Grimm Brothers fairy tales if you want to read them online.http://www.grimmstories.com/en/grimm_...

I see the first replier gave a link to one of the versions. I'll use that. Quite interesting that it's French.
Thanks, Melanie, for the other list as well!
★Meghan★ wrote: "So belle isn't based off a Grimm fairy tale. But another one by a woman... So I guess we can just change that portion."Yeah, but what do we change it to?
We can change it to read the original fairy tale be the French lady. Or maybe we can make it a rapunzel task going with tangled. Or both...
