Ref. Treasures from the Misty Mountains.

What Tolkien items do you own/ collect?

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) I just thought I'd share This Be prepared to get shocked.

This is why you don't give liquor to Vulcans.

Shocked! (p.s-love Star Trek).

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) Here he sings it again in this very clever and cute clip.

Old Spok vs New Spok

Other Tolkien related items i have include ~

A Gollum figure from Weta Workshop

A Minastirith trinket box (a rather large trinket box!)

Statues of the great kings of old (as seen in fellowship of ring) which are bookends

message 7: by Keri (new)

Keri | 11 comments I have a rather large collection:
-Custom framed map of Middle-earth
-United Cutlery: Shards of Narsil, Anduril, -Legolas's knives, Aragorn's dagger
-Full size Sauron helmet
-14k gold One Ring
-8 large action figure gifts packs, including the fellowship and about 80+ smaller gift packs and individual action figures
-Bradford Exchange sword/plate sets, perpetual calendar and another 5 pieces plate set
-25 Hardcover books- Entire HoMe series, 2 Collector's editions of LotR and 1 of The Hobbit etc, etc.

I would still like to add more United Cutlery pieces to my collection but other than than I have stopped collecting. I didn't bother with The Hobbit action figures, just don't like them. The look and quality are poor compared to the Toybiz LotR figures.

Wow, that's really impressive. You should take some photos and post them so we can see. I'd love to see that helmet.

I have a pretty substantial collection of Lord of the Rings miniatures from Games Workshop. Stopped collecting a few years ago, but they are quite nice. The Balrog is probably the most impressive model I have.

I have two of the Collector's Edition DVD sets which include the Argonath and the Gollum figurines.

But of course my most prized item is my Complete Edition of the Lord of the Rings illustrated by Alan Lee. If you haven't seen it, you're really missing out.

I have the 1998 edition of the hardback LOTR with illustrations by Alan Lee. (I know that there is a 1991 edition also).

message 11: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Edwardson Yep, mine is the 1991 edition. I wonder what they changed? Those illustrations are iconic. They complement the text so well.

Pics as requested. :D I've had these on photobucket for a while so there are a few that aren't LotR.

what an amazing collection!! The swords on the walls look so impressive, and i did not realize how vast your collection of figures was ~ certainly a fan :)

message 14: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Edwardson Well, that helmet is about as authentic as it could possibly be and narsil is such a beautiful sword. But the figure collection was mind boggling. I had no idea they even produced that number of toys for the game. A very nice collection indeed.

message 15: by Jenelle (new)

Jenelle Not tons... I have the books (several copies of each), and some bookmarks.

However, my favorite Tolkien-related "paraphernalia" that I own really wasn't "legit."

In 2006, I worked at a very small high school and directed the school play. We put on the Hobbit (my decision). It was a BLAST. Anyway, a student (who played Gollum in the production) forged me a letter-opener fashioned to look like "Sting" and my 7-8th grade students made me a quilt out of the fabric we used to sew together the dwarven cloaks. :)

L | 110 comments Mod
That sounds fantastic! I just love the humor in Peter Jackson's film when bilbo is told that 'sting' isn't really a great sword, but more of a letter opener!

message 17: by Jenelle (new)

Jenelle haha, I'd never put that line together with my letter opener Sting! Awesome!

message 18: by Andy (new)

Andy I have so much paraphernalia.
I have Legolas's knives from the movie on my wall and three of the Minas Tirith trinket boxes.
the Argonath statue bookends
Two specialty frames with pieces of film strip inside them.
A bunch of paper promotional items.
I don't have a lot of expensive stuff like statues and weaponry.

Argonath Bookends! I need those on my bookshelf. I'm certainly pleased with a lot of members here who've got some form of Tolkien-related paraphernalia. True fans. My goal for now is to get hold of the History of Middle Earth books, all thirteen of them.

message 20: by D.J. (last edited Jan 02, 2014 11:25AM) (new)

D.J. Edwardson I recently got a yahtzee goblet from Smaug's hoard, er, I mean the Hobbit Movie: Desolation of Smaug.

It's quite nice. Who knew dragons liked dice games?

message 21: by Susan (new)

Susan (dulcigal) Greetings! I am delighted to have found this group. My primary (and deeply treasured) Tolkien-related product is an LP of JRR reading excerpts from The Hobbit and LoTR. I owned a lot of ephemera back in the 70s but gave most of it to friends due to a major move. Ah well.

message 22: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Edwardson Welcome, Susan. Wow, you still have an LP! That's something. I have a CD of Tolkien reading from the Hobbit and LotR as well, but a CD is not nearly as nostalgic.

Welcome Susan!! I am so pleased you have joined the TCBS and that the discussions are interesting and fun :) This group has indeed been asleep for a while...but the Forest shall soon awaken and something is about to happen that hasn't happened in a very long time!

Lets hope your passion for collecting is rekindled and love of all things LOTR!

Ha ha, Lucinda. Indeed, we have been acting a lot like ents around here lately.
