Hi Patrick! Here's a summary of my book, Cherries - A Vietnam War Novel:“Cherries” is a story about a young, naive, teenage soldier who is sent to Vietnam, with others his age, to fight in an unpopular war. Dubbed “Cherries” by their more seasoned peers, these newbies suddenly found themselves thrust in the middle of a nightmarish scenario for which not even their worst dreams could prepare them; as such, they were hardly ready to absorb the harsh mental, emotional, and physical toll that the conflict would eventually take on them. Literally forced to become men overnight, the Cherries had to learn quickly to make life-or-death decisions, the consequences of which not only impacted their own lives – but also those of their fellow soldiers. This is a story about that rite of passage. For ordering info check my website: https://cherrieswriter.wordpress.com
Attack Hitler's bunker is for lovers of WWII aircraft. It features Short Stirlings and a love triangle!Find it on Amazon as a kindle here for the introductory price of $.99:

It will be available as a paperback in the next few weeks:
The RAF secret mission that never happened - probably.
Richard Earlgood, maverick RAF veteran from the Battle of Britain, and Michael Dorfmann, an ambitious Luftwaffe pilot turned double-agent, plan a daring attack against Hitler in his bunker. They are brought together by Anna, a Station X decoder. With a dark, Italian beauty, she is the booty both men want to win.
Richard comes up with an audacious plan which will test his new, crack squadron of pilots to their limits.
The odds are increasingly slim of either pilot surviving as German Intelligence gets wind of the plan and Hitler orders counter-measures. As the Hurricanes descend into the Hell's Mouth around the Reich Chancellery it seems as if the whole Third Reich is there to stop them.
Fans of 633 Squadron will love this white-hot roller-coaster ride through the streets of Wartime Berlin on a bombing mission with no equal.
All profits from sales of this book until 10 September 2015 will go to The Stirling Aircraft Project Charity, a project to build a Short Stirling front fuselage section from as many original parts as possible, in commemoration of the people who designed, built flew and maintained this historic aircraft.

My named is Lazlo Ferran. I am a writer and I love history; I couldn't study history at school so perhaps that's one of the reasons I now have a passion for it. Early (High) Medieval is one of my specialies. I first started to learn a lot about this period when I researched my family tree. It took ten years but I eventually located my earliest known ancestor - a Knight (Chevalier) in Languedoc, France in 1240. From here I studied books about the Cathars and French nobility and monasteries so that I can now write with some authority on this place and time. I also offer my services as a copy editor and copy developer in this genre.
My other historic speciality is World War II and particular air-force history. I have always been passionate about old aircraft and have a great store of knowledge on the subject. I have just published Attack Hitler's Bunker! - a war thriller about a squadron of Short Stirlings and Hurricanes who attack Hitler using unusual techniques. Proceeds for the first two years will go to The Stirling Aircraft Society.
I do also write Sci-fi books which draw on the history of cultures and technical knowledge so there is a tie-in.
You could also loosely describe some of my historical novels as fantasies althoug the history in them is for the most part accurate: werewolves and vampires are my favourite topics. The Ordo Lupus series, beginning with Ordo Lupus and the Temple Gate are suspense thrillers about werewolves and vampires but with a heavy dose of history much along the lines of Dan Brown stories.
Currently I am engaged on some more exotic subjects - publishing an erotic mystery and a WWII/Sci-fi novel as well as developing a straight vampire story.
I would love to hear from any of you.
Yours
Lazlo
Stormbringer (Apocalypse Then Part One)by Daniel DeLacyHow many remember where they were when the war began on the 1st of September 1939?
I remember.
I should remember.
I started it.
My name is Robert Leroy Parker.
If you want to be both informed and entertained then try Stormbringer. I guarantee it will contain at least one thing you did not know about WWII and will make you laugh when you least expect it.

The Boulevard of Broken Dreams (Apocalypse Then Part Two) by Daniel DeLacy1400hrs 25th May, 1940. Telegram from Anthony Eden, Secretary of State for war:
"The eyes of the Empire are upon the defence of Calais, and H.M. Government are confident you and your gallant regiments will perform an exploit worthy of the British name."
There lay the army of the dead.
Regimented row after regimented row, still lined up on the station’s platform.
The sight of those corpses stopped me in my tracks. Almost in a daze I took my seat, occupying the single empty slot in the nearest file.
What the hell was happening?
Hell had to be the word. I thought that I’d been through hell before but surely nothing could be worse than this?
How had it all come to this?
How had it come to this?
When Major Robert Leroy Parker, Welsh Guards, was questioned about inadvertently starting WW2 and then accidentally saving Hitler's life his response was: "anyone can make a mistake!"
In the Spring of 1940 Rob Parker will have to live with the consequences of these mistakes as he's thrown into the Allied front line to await the juggernaut that is the iron fist of the Nazis. His one thought: "There must be some kind of way out of here!"
Part Two in the Apocalypse Then Series, Boulevard of Broken Dreams continues this most unique of histories of the Second World War.

My name is Marian D. Schwartz. I wasn't a great history student. I've always believed that we see our history come alive through the lens of a story. I recently published a story that takes place during the Korean War. It's about a young fellow who drops out of college and unexpectedly gets drafted. But "An Authentic Hero" is not only about Dale Kenway, it is about what was happening in the United States at that time and how Americans felt about the Korean War. Here is the blurb:All Dale Kenway had ever wanted to do was work on cars. He wasn't thinking about the Korean War when he dropped out of college in his freshman year to work as a mechanic. He didn't expect to be sent overseas to fight in a war he knew nothing about; nor did he expect to be called a hero after he tried to save the life of a fellow soldier. But his friends and family kept insisting that he was a hero. The truth was that the burns on his arms and hands weren't the only scars he came home with. Something happened in Korea that he couldn't share with anyone.

This Page Intentionally Left Blank FM 101 Knuckleheads is a series humorous stories about my time on Active Duty in the Army. Its about most of the knuckleheads I have met during my service. I have served a total of 24 years in the army, deployed five times to both Iraq and AfghanistanThis Page Intentionally Left Blank FM 101 Knuckleheads
When I was a Platoon leader we deployed to 29 Palms California. Some folks will ask, what the heck is an army artillery unit doing on a marine post? We were an MLRS battalion (Multiple Launch Rocket System – and we shoot really far!) and we needed space to shoot our systems and 29 Palms was just about perfect because the entire post is an impact zone. We loved it. Anyway, we had been there for about a week or so and I had my platoon set up in a platoon operating area. I was driving around early one morning looking over some things when the urge in my bowels hit me.I told my driver to stop the vehicle and I climbed out, grabbed the shovel, the toilet seat, and walked around to the front of the vehicle. I then dropped the grill on the hummer, clamped the toilet seat to the grill, and dug a hole directly under the seat. I climbed on the seat and began to read. My driver, having a bit more couth walked around to the rear of the hummer so as to smoke a cigarette.
Unbeknownst to me, my platoon sergeant saw my humvee from a distance and not knowing what I was up to decided the area I had picked was a good place to feed chow. He approached my vehicle from the backside and he was oblivious to my disposition.
Our normal procedure for feeding chow was for the platoon sergeant to call the launcher chiefs and have them meet us at a centralize location, back the two humvees together, drop the tailgates so he would have two flat surfaces to serve chow from.
Imagine my surprise when I heard the tell tale sounds of approaching tracked vehicles and right in front of me there was one screaming towards my position. As the launcher approached I saw the launcher chief pointing and laughing his ass off. I looked to my left and saw another launcher approaching. This is a situation they really don’t train you on at OBC (Officer Basic Course). I did what every good leader would do in this situation…I reached for the toilet paper.

I have just published a novella entitled "War Zone."It takes place in the United States during the Vietnam War, where there was fighting in the streets and in people's homes over the justification of the war and the unfairness of the draft.
"War Zone" looks at the inequality of the draft through the lives of Meghan Danahy and Dennis Kipphit. Meghan comes from a middle-class family. Dennis comes from the poorest section of town, where no one escapes the draft. When Dennis' number is picked early in the lottery, the couple struggles to find a way out for him. Megan begs her father to help Dennis, but he refuses until he realizes that he might be making a mistake.
I believe that the inequality of the draft during the Vietnam War is a sore spot that won't heal until what happened is looked at clearly and addressed.

New ebook named: Not Just A Mission - life behind the uniformDescription
In this book the writer, Regina Birkehorn, describes the Head On method© which provides knowledge, facts and tools that soldiers and people close to them can use when handling a crisis. By using this method you can get the knowledge and the understanding of what is considered as normal behavior when a person is experiencing a crisis and what it means to live with a soldier that has returned from a war with trauma haunting his civil life. When soldiers returns from a mission abroad the focus should be on the joy of being reunited with family, friends, colleagues, and to find the everyday life that they had before they left. But why do nightmares, flashbacks, physical pain, sleeping disorders, PTSD and anxiety consume so much time from the soldier’s life? Follow stories from soldiers that have returned from a war and how their friends and family understand how life behind the uniform will change them for the rest of their life

Others just hoped for an end to despair...

Letters Home: The Story of An Air Force Wife
My husband was in the Air Force, and I wrote a book from the wife's prospective. In 1970, he proposed after we had been dating for only three weeks because he was about to be sent to Italy to be stationed there. After finishing my first year in college, I packed my bags and flew to Italy where we were married. We lived in a rather impoverished area of Italy and had many wonderful, crazy, funny experiences while we were there. Making the most of our travel opportunities, we got to see much of Europe. We were later also stationed in Germany where our lives were filled with even more adventures. It was some of the best years of our lives. I invite you to check it out.
I'm a two tour Iraq vet, and my wartime thriller Into Darkness is available on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HW4497C
Book description: A deadly ambush leaves two Soldiers in al-Qaeda hands. With few leads to follow, a covert arm of the CIA called the Caliban Program charges Captain Eric Ritter to help rescue the missing men. Despite his reservations with the CIA's "by any means necessary" methods, Ritter accepts the mission.
Once embedded with an infantry company deep inside enemy territory, Ritter must keep his true allegiance hidden from his brother-in-arms, Captain Greg Shelton. Shelton leads the search for his missing Soldiers while maintaining the high moral standards required of every Army officer, standards at odds with Ritter's mandate. Deceiving his comrade is Ritter's first step down a dark road paved with good intentions.
The terrorist responsible for the kidnappings, Mukhtar, is Ritter's old enemy—an enemy Ritter thought was dead. Mukhtar is the local emir for al-Qaeda, and has enough fighters and willing suicide bombers to rule his piece of Iraq with a bloody fist. When Mukhtar learns that Ritter is within striking distance, he vows to settle the vendetta he's carried against Ritter for years.
War and politics make for strange bedfellows, and Ritter finds an unlikely ally in Abu Ahmet, an Iraqi insurgent. While Abu Ahmet proves useful, Ritter suspects he may have American blood on his hands.
The harder Ritter tries to uphold the honor and integrity of the United States Army, the more he finds himself betraying those who are closest to him—and turning to more and more extreme methods of extracting information to track down the kidnapped Soldiers. Torture, murder, and ugly compromise push Ritter further from his oaths as an officer and into the arms of the Caliban Program.
Written in the brutally honest voice of one who has lived it, Fox’s experiences bring an edge of pathos to the book reminiscent of All Quiet on the Western Front, The Things They Carried, and The Yellow Birds.
Great group, Nightstalker! Thank you, veterans, for all of your service, and congratulations on your books. Your works all sound incredible and entertaining.
My memoir, Service, A Soldier's Journey: Counterintelligence, Law Enforcement, and the Violence of Urban Education, is about my journey from Army Counterintelligence and my Bosnia Deployment through my transition into the civilian police force. While working as a cop, after a young boy tried to kill himself in front of me, I realized a greater calling and became a teacher. I found myself in a violent Philadelphia classroom and all of my training was put to the test...

Hi all. I've done over a decade of mission support for SOF and gov. I have a black ops thriller out on Amazon, Safe Havens: Shadow Masters that goes beyond shoot 'em ups with a blend of family, PTSD, brotherhood, and then it goes to shoot 'em ups with an intelligence analysis bend. The second novel I am working on is Mister Mortimer, which is a nazi hunting book that relates back to the horrific camp experiments.
Thanks. Looks like a fun group.
One of the least known, yet most controversial, of America's conflicts is the Philippine-American War of 1899-1902, even more controversial is the aftermath on a successful attack by the townspeople of Balangiga on the island of Samar on an infantry garrison. That incident is covered fully in Hang The Dogs: The True Tragic History of the Balangiga Massacre. The book is now available for Kindle for the first time. Here's the teaser:As America’s first war in Asia winds down a US Infantry Company is almost wiped out on the island of Samar. The Balangiga Massacre seemed to be the 9/11 of its day leading to a controversial campaign to finally crush the will of a people fighting for their own independence. Now a 10 year research project uncovers what really happened, the human story of the complex pressures that led a peaceful townspeople to suddenly turn on a heavily-armed infantry company, and reveals lessons still relevant to today’s counterinsurgency challenges.
I hope you'll consider it.
Hello everyone, I am a Dutch author and amateur military historian, who since a few years publishes on his own account. My books contain the history of the Waterloo campaign, but with a special attention and written through the perspective of the officers and men of the Netherlands field army. To support my histories, I have searched for 10+ years in numerous archives and retrived hundreds of original orders from this army & moreover at least 200 accounts, memoirs, letters, etc. from veterans of this Netherlands field army.
Based upon these griginal documents I have been able to write two books already, that give a great deal of new insight as well as additional information hitherto unknown to the historiography of this final campaign in 1815 against Napoleon and France.
This year I am working on publishing a third book, this time on Waterloo and in 2015 hope to finish the series of 4 volumes with the history on the march to Paris and the sieges in northern France.
Hello everyone!I am a debut author and have just published my first book, which I think many of you will enjoy.
Celebrated as a ragtag force that defeated and broke the Soviet Union, no one predicted the Mujahideen would bring with them a plague that would spread like wildfire through Pakistan in the years to follow. When the battle-worn fighters returned with no enemy or war to fight, they turned their sights on the country that had been their creator and benefactor.
From the same battlegrounds that birthed the Mujahideen, a young Kamal Khan emerges as a different breed of warrior. Discarding his wealthy family comforts, Kamal becomes a precision sniper, an invincible commando and a clandestine operative bringing intimidation, dominance and death with him to the battlefield. Ending the plague is his prime directive.
Shrouded in political expediency, hampered by internal power struggles, international espionage and doublespeak that makes Washington's spin doctors proud, Kamal's mission is a nightmare of rampant militant fundamentalism that threatens to choke and take Pakistan hostage. For him, the fight is not just for freedom, but the survival of a nation.
The initial reviews of the book are excellent so I would hope that some of you would give it a try.
Hello Veterans, Active Duty Military Personnel and Supporters, My name is Adam Bradford, and I have written two books; The United States of Apostasy and We Have Seen Them. We Have Seen Them is a book that I wrote in dedication to our military and those that have served selflessly through the years to protect our freedoms.
It is a fictional story about the world's most dangerous man that has entered into the US secretly to destroy it from within. Multitudes beckon to his bidding, but, there is one thing that stands in his way; veterans of wars present and past!
I have entered this book along with the other in the Goodreads giveaway contest, and I would love to see you guys win a copy. Thank you for your service to our nation and may God always richly bless you for standing tall so that others may be free.
In Admiration,

My Name is Gideon Asche, I am basically an old worn out Paratrooper who became a Spook then turned author. I recently published “JINNIK” a firsthand account of my time as a team Commander working behind the Iron Curtain.
I don’t want to come off as a Jerk trying to promote my own work but I obviously want to promote my own work so I invite you to take a look and see if “JINNIK” might be a book you would enjoy.
It is an accurate a narrative of almost 9 years as a Clandestine Intelligence Operator behind the Iron Curtain; as accurate as the US State Dept. would allow.
Some parts were adjusted to appease the DOS screeners and is the reason it is published as fact based fiction vs an autobiography.
If you are a moderator and would like to take a look at JINNIK and decide if it would interest your group please message me or E-mail me at Gideonashce@volcano.net and I’ll provide you with an E-book.
Thanks
Enjoy.

Hi - my name is Blaine Pardoe and my latest military history book is called Never Wars - The US Plans to Invade the World. It is a study of some of the never used US military plans to attack countries from 1904-1943. The color coded plans in the book were a blast to research and are fascinating to read. They include:
The 1905 Plan for War with Britain and Canada: War Plan Red/Crimson
The 1928/1929 Plans For War with Mexico: War Plan Green Variants #1, #2, and #3
The 1932 Plan for Intervention in Cuba: War Plan Tan
The 1940–1943 Plan for the Invasion of the Azores: War Plan Gray
The 1929 Plan For the American Incursion/Invasion of China: War Plan Yellow Variations A and B
The 1914 Plan For War With Germany: War Plan Black
An Alternate WWII—The 1935 Plan For the American War with The United Kingdom War Plan Red
The biggest thing that I uncovered in this book was the US plans to invade the Azores in WWII and the 1935 plan to use chemical weapons in a war against Britain and Canada.
https://blainepardoe.wordpress.com/20...
I look forward to your reviews and questions.
Blaine
Blaine that Sounds like a good read, kinda technical so Kudos to you if you can present that depth of data an not be dry...
But dry or not it sounds like a good read. I'll be picking it up.
A great deal of the espionage activities are always driven by alternate and contingency plans like the ones you cite. It sometimes leaves the guy in the field wondering what he is doing.. or at least why...
Thanks for the comments. The only chapter in the book I struggled with was the first one, where I explain the context of US miltary planning in the era. It was tempting to jump right in with the plans, but without understanding the context, it's hard to comprehend the plans I think. I was surprised at how much the Monroe Doctrine factored into US planning.
Hi! My name is Michael (I write under E. Michael Helms). I just joined the group and hope to contribute. I'm very open to discussing anything I've written, and whatever subjects you have that I might contribute to.My first book was a memoir of my time with Echo Co., 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines (Reg.) in Vietnam during 1967-68. "The Proud Bastards" has remained in print over twenty years, currently with Simon & Schuster/Pocket.
I've also written a two-volume Civil War/Reconstruction saga, "Of Blood and Brothers." It's based on true characters/events about a family who lived just north of where I grew up in the FL panhandle.
I'm also writing a mystery series (the Mac McClellan Mysteries -- Mac is a retired Marine). Two books are currently published; another two are ready to go.
My latest work is a semi-autobiographical FICTIONAL sequel to my Vietnam memoir (about 85% fact). "The Private War of Corporal Henson" deals with a group of Vietnam combat vets struggling with PTSD years after the war.
All my books can be found here at Goodreads, or at my Amazon author page: http://www.amazon.com/E.-Michael-Helm...
I appreciate being among you, and look forward to hearing from you and contributing any way I can. Thanks!

Michael
