just because certain things such as stoning happened in stories that doesnt mean that is what God wants...those are just in stories that are told.
Jesus saved a woman from being stoned.

John (jayrindone1412gmailcom) | 157 comments Are you forgetting that that was a very long time ago? This is the 21st century....people don't stone poeple...that is an anolgy saying that they should be punished for doing wrong. We also have police that put people in jail for doing wrong.

They what authority does it have in anything? WHy listen to it at all? Who cares about it then, if a bunch of desert nomads made it all up?

John (jayrindone1412gmailcom) | 157 comments He inspired people to write...they wrote about the eventsof there time...and the stories of god and his miracles...and the struggles they had...although god got them thru it....god inspired them....jesus is gods son and he was with them when they wrote the bible

The earliest gospel was a non-firsthand account, written more then 60 years after the alleged events.

Jayda God wants us to develope. Back then stoning was okay. Today it's not. That's great in His eyes. But that was a long time ago, when stoning was appropriate. And as John said, the Bible wasn't physically written by God, He inspired His prophets to write things. They recorded moments of their time to teach people things.

Think about that. Stoning was a good thing?

The gospels never met jesus. He dies decades before they wrote their books.

Jayda It wasn't a good thing, but that was their form of punishment. I agree, it's extreme. But back then it was accepted as something that happened to the "evil-doers".

Jayda No, the Apostles didn't write about Jesus. The four gospels were written several years after the death of Jesus Christ. Lauren's right.

Jayda No, because God commanded us to not kill :)
It would be against my morals - I wouldn't do it because I have more control over my temper than someone who would kill because they offended me. And as I said before, that was centuries ago when people didn't really have better ways to take care of things, such as suing and compromising. We live in a society where we know better ways to get things done. They didn't.

But, God himself killed EVERY firstborn in Egypt. Horrible crime.

But if God knows the future, why didn't, in his book that he knew everyone would follow, tell them to stop.

Jayda That WAS NOT God. That was a man who chose to kill every first born in Egypt. If God had control over man do you think He'd let all of those horrible things happen? He doesn't control man because He gave us free-will. If God controlled us He would cease to be God.

And if God gave man all of the answers do you think we'd learn anything? We learn from our mistakes, our tramas, what happens in this world. If nothing bad happened, if we didn't experience to learn than we honestly would know nothing. It would be like keeping a baby trying to walk from falling - unless you let them fall they can't learn how to walk.

Wow J, I think you made a very good point in it. If you are Gay/Homosexual/Bisexual then you shouldn't be compared to a dog or a cat.PERIOD.You shouldn't have to listen to all of this crap about 'oh you shouldn't be like that'. It's wrong.
