Killer WomenWHO | Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Marc Blucas (Necessary Roughness), Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica), Alex Fernandez (Commander in Chief), Marta Milans

WHAT | In Victorian England, the young and beautiful Alice (Lowe) tells a tale of a strange new land that exists on the other side of a rabbit hole. An invisible cat, a hookah smoking caterpillar and playing cards that talk are just some of the fantastic things she's seen during this impossible adventure. Surely this troubled girl must be insane and her doctors aim to cure her with a treatment that will make her forget everything. Alice seems ready to put it all behind her, especially the painful memory of the genie she fell in love with and lost forever — the handsome and mysterious Cyrus (Gadiot). But deep down Alice knows this world is real and just in the nick of time, the sardonic Knave of Hearts (Socha) and the irrepressible White Rabbit (Lithgow) arrive to save her from a doomed fate. Together, the trio will take a tumble down the rabbit hole to this Wonderland where nothing is impossible.

WHAT | Three nerdy female friends embark on a quest to have super fun every Friday night in the single-cam project (which was originally developed as a multi-cam comedy last spring at CBS).
Trophy WifeWHO | Malin Akerman (Suburgatory), Bradley Whitford (The West Wing), Marcia Gay Harden (Damages), Michaela Watkins (Saturday Night Live), Natalie Morales (90210), Ryan Scott Lee (Super 8), Albert Tsai (How I Met Your Mother), Gianna LePera (Modern Family)
WHAT | They say the third time's the charm and reformed party girl Kate (Akerman) is hoping that's true when she becomes Pete's (Whitford) third wife. She fell into his arms (literally) at a karaoke bar and a year later, Kate's got an insta-family complete with three stepchildren and two ex-wives.
Lucky 7 is a Brit remake. Can't remember the original title, I watched one episode. My friend Lisa keeps trying to get me to watch it. It's had 2 season so far, same exact set up.I want to try Resurrection and of course the Once in Wonderland and SHIELD shows.
I'll watch Betrayal, Lucky 7, Mind Games, The OUAT spin off, Resurrection, and Trophy Wife. Why not? :)

Agents of SHIELD, all the way. Even if I don't like it (highly unlikely, but possible), chances are good I'll watch it just for Coulson. The Wonderland one sounds interesting, I might give that a shot.
I rarely have time to read anymore Susan. I have all these shows I watch and then 4 magazine subscriptions, groups to moderate on here... It's crazy. I get about one book in a month :)
You can watch clips of ABC's new shows here: http://beta.abc.go.com/shows/new-show...I just watched Wonderland and it looks fantastic! SHIELD and Resurrection look good too. Click where it says 'get the scoop' on your chosen show and it'll bring you to the page and vid.
It used to be that summers were for catching up, but now there's so many summer shows, it's a never-ending cycle of TV.
ABC is the third broadcast network to unveil its 2013-14 schedule and the big news is that Joss Whedon’s much-hyped Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has landed on Tuesdays, where it will kick off an all-new lineup. Also of note: The spin-off Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which was originally envisioned to bridge the gap between Once Upon a Time‘s fall and spring runs, will air Thursdays at 8/7c, running concurrently with the original series.
In a conference call with reporters, ABC president Paul Lee said Once‘s third season will still be divided into two distinct 12-episode batches, a strategy he plans to extend to Revenge and Scandal, as well. Limited series, like the new reality adventure The Quest, will be brought in to fill various winter voids.
Elsewhere, Dancing With the Stars’ traditional Tuesday results edition will be folded into Monday’s performance show, Rebel Wilson’s Super Fun Night has landed the coveted post-Modern Family slot on Wednesdays, The Neighbors have found a new home on Fridays (following Last Man Standing) and Suburgatory is MIA.
Lee, meanwhile, said Happy Endings was cancelled because it’s appeal was just too “narrow.” (For what it’s worth, he said it was a “very hard” decision to make.)
On tap for midseason, in addition to Suburgatory: The new dramas Killer Women, Mind Games, Mixology and Resurrection.
All told, the ABC schedule looks like this. (New shows are in CAPS

NOT RETURNING NEXT SEASON: 666 Park Avenue, Body of Proof, Don’t Trust the B—– in Apartment 23, Family Tools, Happy Endings, How To Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life), Last Resort, Malibu Country, Private Practice, Red Widow and Zero Hour
Hmmmm how are they going to handle the voting all in one show on dancing with the stars?? Weird......
Regarding the ABC line-up: I was very disappointed to read that Malibu Country was canceled. It is probably the only comedy I watched. I got to watching Last Man Standing only because of Malibu Country (you know, the old watching the show before or the show after something you want to see) but it wasn't half as good as Malibu Country. And Susan, like you, my first question was how are they going to handle the voting? Maybe they will cut out some of the stuff I fast forward through. Until the current season, I couldn't stand the Macy's Stars of Dance. And I often fast forward through the "practice room" sections to get right to the dances.
Karen the season finale of Body of Proof is on in two weeks......I'm so user to see it go!!I went to Camden once when the new aquarium opened and it was pretty nasty around there. Where will the gangs go if they clean up Camden? AC? Philly?
I think I'll make one and move your comments over there.... looks like you all have a ton in common!
I just read that TNT is looking at Body of Proof!! I hope they pick it up! Last nights season finale was perfect!!
That would be cool Susan... I don't watch it but my mom does and she loves it. I'll keep my eyes open for any info about that for you.
Looks like Alice is about to get a little, er, Lost in Wonderland.Naveen Andrews, whose last major stateside TV role came on ABC’s Lost, is joining the network’s Once Upon a Time spinoff as genie Jafar, it was announced during the show’s panel on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con.
Andrews — who currently does not appear in the pilot presentation ABC's Reckless Spoilers– will debut in the first episode as the “very, very, very evil villain,” shared co-creator Edward Kitsis, adding that their take on Jafar will be “very frightening.”
“I hope it will be something like you’ve never seen before,” said Andrews.
In other news from the panel…
HOME SWEET HOME | The Con crowd was treated to a preview of the pilot presentation, which kicks off with a familiar, destructive Once Upon a Time scene. Viewers will first meet two Wonderland characters in Storybrooke – and one of them has been there for a bit of time, it appears. “We will find out the Knave’s backstory leads to the Enchanted forest,” teased Kitsis after the screening.
ONE DOOR CLOSES, ANOTHER OPENS | As opposed to the mothership series, which is intended as a sprawling, multi-year story, the mission of Wonderland is “to tell within this first season, a complete, close-ended story,” said co-creator Adam Horowitz. “By the end of the Season 1, this particular story will be concluded,” and a new adventure will begin in Season 2 with the same cast. Since there’s only so many episodes to start and finish the story, Wonderland hopes to be “all killer, no filler,” added Kitsis. All of the questions you’re wondering about will be answered, including “why Alice went to Wonderland, who her father is, how she ended up in that insane asylum.”
THE PAST UNCOVERED | Like with Once, flashbacks will reveal the characters’ backstories, including that of newbie the Knave of Hearts and The Red Queen, who makes a brief but memorable first impression in the pilot presentation. Her use of magic “makes me wonder if she spent any time with the Queen of Hearts in Wonderland,” hinted Kitsis.
ALICE, ACTION HEROINE | Remember how take-action Snow White was in the Once pilot? Alice might give her a run for her money. Kitsis had this to say about a particularly buttkicking scene: “Was anything cooler than when she took that guy down with his legs and broke his neck?” Yes, this girl doesn’t need any help taking care of herself.
FAMILIAR FACES | “I would be disappointed if we didn’t see the Queen of Hearts at some point,” said Kitsis. However, her cohort the Mad Hatter might be harder to get back because of his portrayer Sebastian Stan’s busy movie schedule. Joked Kitsis: “I hear he’s going to be here [at Comic-Con] for 20 minutes, and there’s a part of me that wants to kidnap him and bring him back to Vancouver.” After a fan asked if we’ll see the March Hare or the Doormouse, Kitsis replied, “I have a feeling we might see both of those people or at least hear about them.”
Agent Maria Hill will, indeed, report for duty: How I Met Your Mother’s Cobie Smulders is set to reprise her Avengers film role in the movie’s ABC spin-off, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.TVLine has confirmed that the actress will appear in the pilot and other episodes of the much-anticipated ABC drama, which is based on the 2012 action blockbuster.
Exactly how often Agent Hill — who played right-hand-woman to Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury in the flick — will be seen on the show remains up in the air. That’s mainly because of her existing role on (rival network) CBS’ HIMYM. But that comedy is coming to an end after this season; if movie director/series boss Joss Whedon can bring Agent Coulson back from the dead (or at least make it seem that way), who knows what else he can make happen?
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuts Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 8/7c.
To top off that exciting news, those in attendances at the show’s Friday Comic-Con panel were treated to a viewing of the entire pilot. Since we’d hate to ruin the series’ enormously exciting, lavish first episode for you – and risk the wrath of Marvel’s Hulk – we present the highlights:
BEST RETURN | Hill’s comeback provides some of the funniest moments – her response when told Thor isn’t really a God: “You haven’t been near his arms” – and the most intriguing scenes with Clark Gregg’s revived Coulson. Let’s just say, there are a lot of secrets.
BIGGEST BREAKOUTS | Chloe Bennet as quirky, clever superhero-tracker Skye and Brett Dalton as brooding alpha-male agent Grant – “This is my first big [role],” the actor marveled – seem poised to be geek-household names this fall – and they’ve earned the honors: Bennet auditioned six times for the role!
BEST TECH | The Seven Dwarfs, which aren’t a crossover with ABC’s Once Upon a Time but rather flying gizmos programmed to collect data.
BEST ENEMY | In true Whedon fashion, a Big Bad is revealed.
BEST SURPRISE | Someone Comic-Con fans know very well makes an unexpected cameo.
BIGGEST BUTT-KICKER | While Dalton has a very cool fight sequence — hilariously punctuated by a French woman’s nonchalant expression — in France, Ming-Na is definitely most impressive.
… AND THE BEST PART | There’s more to come! “Wait until you see Episode 2,” teased Gregg. Added Joss Whedon: “I have been to a Con before. But it’s very different every time. I have that feeling that I have no had for a long time where I have assembled this extraordinary ensemble… I’m a little excited.” As for what the future holds, Whedon would only say, “We’re going to have pain. We may see some people. And we may see some new people from the Marvel universe that are not yet cinematic.”
Last but never least, ABC has revealed its premiere plan for the fall TV season, and it includes — as TVLine predicted — a two-hour opener for Grey’s Anatomy Season 10, as well as a supersized return for Modern Family.ABC’s schedule (more or less) kicks off Sept. 16 with the new season of Dancing With the Stars, while the network’s 100-percent new, S.H.I.E.L.D.-fronted Tuesday line-up debuts Sept. 24. Once Upon a Time in Wonderland closes ABC’s premiere slate with its Oct. 10 series debut.
On tap for midseason: Suburgatory, the new dramas Killer Women, Mind Games and Resurrection, and the freshman comedy Mixology.

8 pm ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND (new series)
THE SHOW | ABC’s Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (Thursdays at 8/7c; premieres Oct. 10)THE COMPETITION | CBS’ The Big Bang Theory/The Millers (new), Fox’s X Factor results show, The CW’s The Vampire Diaries and NBC’s Parks and Recreation/Welcome to the Family (new)
THE CAST | Sophie Lowe (Beautiful Kate), Peter Gadiot (The Forbidden Girl), Michael Socha (the UK’s Being Human), Naveen Andrews (Lost), Emma Rigby (Hollyoaks) and the voice of John Lithgow (Third Rock from the Sun); Naveen Andrews (Lost) joins the cast in Episode 2.
THE SET-UP | At least as framed by the 20-minute “presentation” that sold ABC on this spin-off, Victorian era British lass Alice (Lowe) has been institutionalized after relating a story about her trip to “Wonderland,” where she met a hookah-smoking caterpillar and invisible cat and ate/drank things that made her smaller/bigger. Just as Alice retracts her tale, she gets a visit from the Knave of Hearts (Socha), a Wonderland pal who has portal-jumped from Storybrooke to report that Cyrus (Gadiot) — a genie with whom she fell in love — possibly did not perish at the hand of the Red Queen (Rigby). Cue: “We have to go baaaaack!”
THE FIRST IMPRESSION | While it’s hard to say what the first episode will look like at a full 42 minutes, I can see — as skeptical/disappointed as I was when ABC aborted the plan to air this as a wintertime hiatus-filler — how the network suits were dazzled. The arc here is pretty linear and pretty romantic: Venturing back to Wonderland (thanks to Lithgow’s portal-happy White Rabbit), Alice will labor to locate her true love, with a begrudging assist from the Knave (who in the semi-clunky cold open snarks to Storybrooke’s Leroy, “I don’t help anyone“).
Lowe and Gadiot have good chemistry, so hopefully their flashback moments are among those beefed up in the full pilot, while Socha in fleeting scenes sells us on his alter ego’s sass. Rigby’s Red Queen is fun (and barely dressed) in a saucy, CW sort of way, but it may take some getting used to having a decently rendered CGI rabbit on your TV screen every week.
One reservation, aside from how the Knave was “inserted” into old Once scenes set during the wraith’s rampage: Already, non-Wonderland characters such as Andrews’ newly added Jafar, here fashioned as an evil genie, are being plugged into the narrative. At what point does this simply become Once 2 (Once Twice?) and you’re robbing Peter (Peter Pumpkin Eater) to pay Paul (Bunyan)?
THE TVLINE BOTTOM LINE | It will take some magic for ABC to have any success in the Thursdays-at-8 time slot, where the likes of Charlie’s Angels, Missing, Last Resort and Zero Hour in recent years have quickly died. The Once brand surely will lure some lookie-loos, and ABC obviously is so hot for this offshoot that they’ll give it a lot of rope. With Big Bang as big as ever, the opportunity here lies in a vulnerable X Factor, which seems to have minimal buzz heading into Season 3.
THE SHOW | ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Tuesdays at 8/7c; premieres Sept. 24)THE COMPETITION | CBS’ NCIS, Fox’s Dads (new) and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (new), The CW’s The Originals (new) and NBC’s The Biggest Loser
THE CAST | Clark Gregg (The Avengers), Ming-Na Wen (ER), Chloe Bennet (Nashville), Brett Dalton (Killing Lincoln), Iain De Caestecker (BBC One’s Young James Herriot) and Elizabeth Henstridge (Channel 4′s Hollyoaks)
THE SET-UP | Agent Coulson lives! In this smaller-screen follow-up to The Avengers/other Marvel movies, Gregg reprises his role as the commanding, quippy S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, who in the wake of “The Battle of New York” is fronting an initiative to monitor specially enabled beings while warding off a faction known as The Rising Tide. Dalton plays new recruit Grant Ward, Ming-Na is the mysterious Melinda May, Caestecker and Henstridge form the one-two, tech whiz-biochemist punch of “Fitz/Simmons,” and Bennet plays elite hacker Skye. Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) appears in the pilot, as The Avengers’ Maria Hill.
THE FIRST IMPRESSION | If you are at the very least up to speed on Marvel’s most recent big-screen endeavors, S.H.I.E.L.D. is fun, fun, fun, nodding at (and even picking up on…) a storyline thread or two. The pilot’s production values are excellent, while the dialogue is as playful as the action is solid (though perhaps in a way that would better trigger LOLs from a Cineplex crowd). Gregg and Ming-Na expectedly stand out amid a comparatively green ensemble; among said newbies, Bennet seems destined to “pop” while Dalton’s role could afford to be a bit more colored. Smulders helps segue the Coulson character/plant the seed for a larger mystery, though one can’t help but sense CBS is monitoring her involvement with an egg timer.
This pilot is very good, though something — I can’t put my finger on what — kept it from being ZOMG! great. Since show boss/auteur Joss Whedon has made clear this will be neither a weekly superhero hunt nor “Easter egg farm,” there is the question of how compelling or entertaining any given episode will be. But at first blush it would seem that when S.H.I.E.L.D. is firing on all cylinders, it’ll be pretty damn super.
THE TVLINE BOTTOM LINE | S.H.I.E.L.D. will at least open big, even opposite the Season 11 premiere of TV’s most watched drama. But where it goes from there is the question. Will samplers arrive prepared to not quite get The Avengers: The Live-Action Series? Will NCIS in fact free up a few eyeballs when a longtime cast member exits? Can S.H.I.E.L.D. secure a foothold in the weeks before other competition premieres? ABC has much coin backing this venture, which leads off a night of all-new programming of varying quality — again, the pilot looks nifty, and Episode 2 is said to be even “bigger” — so the network will surely exhibit superhuman patience should the numbers ebb.
ABC picked up 6 new dramas and 2 new comedies for next seasonhttp://insidetv.ew.com/2014/05/08/abc...
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER: The brilliant, charismatic and seductive Professor Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) gets entangled with four law students from her class “How to Get Away with Murder.” Little do they know that they will have to apply what they learned to real life, in this masterful, sexy, suspense-driven legal thriller.
SECRETS AND LIES: Ben Garner (Ryan Phillippe) is about to go from Good Samaritan to murder suspect, after he discovers the body of his neighbor’s young son in the woods. As Detective Andrea Cornell (Juliette Lewis) digs for the truth, the secrets and lies of this town come to the surface and no one is above suspicion. Ben’s family’s life will be turned upside down as he sets out on a complicated journey to prove his innocence in this thriller mystery from Barbie Kligman (Private Practice) based on the original Australian series of the same name.
AMERICAN CRIME: All over the news are reports about a young couple in Modesto, California, who were attacked in their home. Matt Skokie, a war vet, was killed, and his wife, Lily, is unconscious, barely hanging on. Both sets of parents are at her bedside hoping for a miracle while four suspects are about to be arrested. The case sends shock waves into the community stirring up tensions across racial lines in this gritty drama. American Crime stars Felicity Huffman as Barb, Timothy Hutton as Russ, W. Earl Brown as Tom, Richard Cabral as Hector Tonz, Caitlin Gerard as Aubry, Benito Martinez as Alonzo Gutierrez, Penelope Ann Miller as Eve, Elvis Nolasco as Carter and Johnny Ortiz as Tony Gutierrez. It’s written, directed and produced by John Ridley (12 Years A Slave).
THE WHISPERS: Aliens have invaded Earth by using our most unlikely resource to achieve world domination—our children. As the kids unwittingly help these unseen enemies, the clock counts down in this suspenseful race to save humanity. It stars Lily Rabe as Claire Bennigan, Barry Sloane as Wes Lawrence, Milo Ventimiglia as John Doe/Drew Bennigan, Derek Webster as Jessup Rollins, Brianna Brown as Lena Lawrence, Catalina Denis as Dr. Maria Martinez, Kylie Rogers as Minx Lawrence and Kyle Harrison Breitkopf as Henry.
GALAVANT: Screenwriter/executive producer Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love) teams up with Broadway and Hollywood award-winning musical team—composer Alan Menken for a musical comedy fairytale of epic proportions. Once upon a time, the dashing hero, Galavant (Joshua Sasse) lost the love of his life, Madalena (Mallory Jansen), to the evil King Richard (Timothy Omundson). Now, our fallen hero is ready to take revenge and restore his “happily ever after.” But it won’t be without a few twists and turns along the way. It stars Joshua Sasse as Galavant, Timothy Omundson as King Richard, Vinnie Jones as Gareth, Mallory Jansen as Madalena, Karen David as Isabella and Luke Youngblood as Sid.
FOREVER: Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), New York City’s star medical examiner, has a secret. He doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases, he does it to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years—the answer to his own inexplicable immortality. This long life has given Henry remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). Each week, a new case and their budding friendship will reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Only his best friend and confidant, Abe (Judd Hirsch) knows Henry’s secret.
Comedy pickups are:
MANHATTAN LOVE STORY: A single-camera laugher described as this: Have you ever wondered what your date was thinking? This romantic comedy exposes the differences between men and women through the unfiltered thoughts, and often contradictory actions, of a new couple who have just begun dating.
SELFIE: “Instafamous” Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan) has 263,000 followers who hang on to her every post, tweet and selfie. But one lonely day she has a revelation: being friended is not the same as having actual friends. She asks marketing guru Henry (John Cho) to ‘rebrand’ her self-obsessed reputation and teach her how to connect with people in the real world. Loosely based on My Fair Lady, Selfie explores the modern struggles of Eliza and Henry, as he tries to teach her how to live life offline—whether she ‘likes’ it or not.
Not thrilled about any of them. Maybe Whispers but that won't last. Galavant, sure, except that it's a musical, I can probably deal with one episode of that. Forever, another gimmicky procedural. Selfie, just one ep to see Karen Gillan.
