Saphire laid on her bed, curled up in a ball.
December was sleeping on the floor. Since there was only one bed in the cell they took turns sleeping on it. It was currently Saphire's turn.
Saphire started tossing and turning in her sleep, having one of her frequent nightmares about her brother.
December awoke when Saphire started tossing and turning. Instead of sitting up to try and calm her, December just stared at the ceiling. It was too painful to move.
She sat bolt upright with a gasp, then looked at December.
December looked at Saphire and tried to give her an encouraging smile, but through the bruises it more likely looked creepy and disfigured.
"Did I wake you," Saphire asked, softly.

"Not really. I couldn't sleep anyways." December replied.
Saphire nodded and laid back down.
"Do you think we'll ever get out of here?"
She sighed and rolled onto her side, facing December. "We will if my brother has anything to do with it."

"You sure? Some people have been here a long time." December replied solemnly. What about their family?
She nodded, "I'm sure, he will find us eventually."
