Hello,
I'm Michaela, and I absolutely LOVE L.M. Montgomery (especially her Anne series).
Can't wait to start reading her books together! :)

message 2: by Taisia (new)

Taisia (luthientinuviel) Yes! I love her books! :) Have you read the Story Girl yet? That's one of my favourites.

No, not yet. I have so very many I want to read that I don't know which to start with. :)

Hi, I'm Verity. I've only actually read one of L.M. Montgomery's books, so I guess I'm in the right place to start reading the rest of them!

message 5: by Taisia (new)

Taisia (luthientinuviel) I haven't read all of them, but I have read quite a few of them. I've read all of the Anne of Green Gables books, the Emily books, the Story Girl, the Golden Road, Chronicles of Avonlea, Further Chronicles of Avonlea, Magic for Marigold, and I think that's it...any suggestions for the next one? :)

Welcome, Hannah Mary! :)

message 9: by Annie (new)

Annie Hawthorne (curiouswren) Hello, all!! :) I'm Annie and have been a fond lover of L.M. Montgomery's books for as long as I can remember. I grew up as a young girl reading Jane of Lantern Hill, Anne of Green Gables, and Pat of Silver Bush. Now that I am a young woman I've started to venture into more of her works over the years....the only books of hers that I haven't read (that I can think of) are Mistress Pat, A Tangled Web, Emily's Quest, and The Blue Castle. I just finished re-reading Rilla of Ingleside. :)

I just thought I would add a link if any of you are having trouble locating L.M. Montgomery books. Sometimes the less popular books can be difficult to find. :)

Hey, everyone! I'm Cari. I've been rereading the Emily trilogy lately and got to wondering if there were any groups on Goodreads based on L.M. Montgomery's books - and voila! :)

I've read her Anne series also, but it's been a long time, so I'm planning on rereading the entire series again soon.

Other books I've read: The Story Girl, The Golden Road, Jane of Lantern Hill, and some of her short stories. I'm excited to read her other books and discuss them with you all. :)

message 30: by Jessica (new)

Jessica The first book by L.M. Montgomery I ever read was Anne of Green Gables. I think I was 10 when I first read it, now I read it once a year. Right now I'm reading The Golden Road and loving it. I'm on a bit of a L.M. Montgomery fix at the moment.

message 34: by Claire (new)

message 35: by Jessica (new)

message 37: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Thank you Claire.

message 38: by Faye (new)

Faye | 4 comments Hello everyone! I'm so glad that L.M. Montgomery lived when and where she did. With all of the distractions in today's world, the stories may have been quite different if written today. Any opinions?

message 39: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I agree with you Faye. They would be completely different stories. They wouldn't be as magical is that makes sense. I actually just started rereading Anne of Green Gables for the millionth time and it's still the best book I have ever read.

message 40: by Faye (new)

Faye | 4 comments Hi Jessica! I agree. I am re-reading Anne of Avonlea right now and it's surprising what new things I see reading it now as an older adult. I look forward to reading other Montgomery books (shame on me - for the first time!). One of my best girl-friends is Canadian. We've talked about taking a trip to PEI to see the area on which Ms. Montgomery based her Anne stories.

message 41: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Faye, taking a trip to PEI is my dream. I would love to visit the real Green Gables. I'm just now starting to read the Emily series. Never read it before. Have you and if so what did you think?

message 42: by Claire (new)

Claire West | 5 comments That would be so much fun Jessica!

message 43: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Oh I know. Someday I hope to go.

message 44: by Faye (new)

Faye | 4 comments No, I haven't read the Emily series yet, but hope to soon. If seeing PEI is your dream, don't let it go!

message 45: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Don't worry I won't! Thanks!

Nomisha | 1 comments I'm so happy to find a group dedicated to this wonderful woman's books, thank you for setting it up and keeping it going Michaela! I absolutely love all her books :)

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello, ladies! Welcome to all the new members. :) I hope we'll be able to read a book together before the year is out.

My summer was weirdly hectic and I didn't get a lot of time to get on groups and chat with everyone. Hopefully that'll change. Back to school now, which means I'm on the computer like 24/7. ;)

message 48: by Michaela (new)

Michaela (michaelarae1) | 69 comments Mod
I know, Cari! I've been so busy with school I don't even have time to read outside of school stuff at the moment! :( We'll have to see if we can do a group read in maybe November or October. Yes, we definitely need to hold a group read before the year ends. :)

message 49: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Oh that sounds like fun! A group read would be great.

message 50: by Fran (new)

Fran | 1 comments hello I'm Fran and I am a fan if LMM. I love Anne of Green Gables... glad to be here as well. Looking forward to read a book together with the group. Let me know :)
