Are there any fans of the Ghost Hunters show?

I use to watch it all the time, somewhere along the line I must have lost interest. I haven't seen any espisodes in the last 2 years, I wasn't even sure if it was still on.

The show is a scam.

Yea, I guess they had no choice but to spice it up with effects. It's just not possible to get activity for every episode you shoot. Nobody wants to watch a show ..."

It's all rigged. Like Paranormal Activity. They do it for ratings.

I take it somebody likes the show. LOL!

I think the show may have started out with integrity, but ratings make or break any show. I don't see how every episode could have actually caught activity. Perhaps they did catch some interesting things, but I am very skeptical of some of the episodes I watched, some even made me laugh.

It's just people trying to get on t.v. and make a name for themselves. I wonder if anyone wrote a book about it after appearing on the show?

Set up, rigged, and aimed at gullible people.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

No, Stacy, I don't. All 'strange' events can either be explained, or the person is lying.

Ghosts are for movies and books.

Why, if someone died, would they want to come back to earth anyway?

If I see a ghost, then I'll believe. But...who'll believe me?

Stacy, I have an open mind to most things. Like you said, we don't even know our full potential as human beings yet.
Are there forces we don't understand? Perhaps. Are they ghosts of people who have passed on? No, it doesn't even sound logical.
Let's just say what we don't know is a lot more than what we know, or think we know.
Facts, yes. Yet there have been so many hoaxes over the years.
I'm not a pessimist. I'm a realist. I do have faith in a higher power. Something can't come from nothing.
My question is: why would people who died come back to earth as ghosts?

It's never been proven in the history of mankind.

I guess I'm saying I JUST DON'T KNOW. Anything is possible, I suppose.

Kyle, anti-matter wasnt logical.

I have an open mind, and this seems like an area that can and should be researched.

Your question about why they would come back is interesting, but perhaps the energy never left? Who knows? It is an interesting topic.

Never say never, it will aways bite you in the arse.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Excuse me, Kevin? I was very logical in my post.

That's what I said. Who knows? It is interesting, but some carry it a bit too far.

Never say never is a good motto. I like my arse bite free...except when my wife nibbles on it.:)

(?) I meant the thought of anti-matter was the stuff of sci-fi, now we are able to harness small amounts.

I agree that this topic can be taken to silly levels, but it's all in good fun

I hope I didnt offend you, it wasn't my intention.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

No, you didn't offend me at all. I know it's all in good fun. We're having a ghostly good time here.:)

Huda Sarkowi | 1 comments I never watch Ghost Hunters, probably because I live in Asia and we have plenty of Ghost Hunter kind of shows here. My favourite so far is 怪談 (Unbelievable in Chinese). I don't think this one is available in youtube though. But if any of you want to watch it just go to dailymotion and search for it.

Be warned, subtitles may not be included.

Holly (goldikova) Personally, I watch these shows for the locations. I'm a geek for old houses and buildings and I like to see the interiors whenever possible. I just wish they could film with the lights on so I could see more.

These shows are still entertaining even when not taken seriously. There was an episode of Ghost Adventures where Zak got all freaked out by some large gourds hanging up to dry in a store room in a haunted Mississippi plantation house; he apparently didn't know what they were. Another time they were investigating a house and they found a couple of dog crates in the basement and some scratched woodwork on a door in one of the rooms and tried to make it sound all sinister. "What could possibly have driven a dog to scratch at a door like this?" Ummmm, I can tell you, because I have a couple of old crates in my basement and some badly scratched woodwork...........nothing more ghastly than then normal procedures for showing and breeding dogs. Yes, a dog can really mess up your woodwork when he is separated from a bitch in heat, but that is not supernatural in any way, just a headache for 3 weeks.

I also saw an episode detailing the long term haunting of a hotel I stayed at years ago. At the time I was not aware that it was haunted and didn't experience anything paranormal.

Justin (justinbienvenue) I used to watch this every Wednesday during it's early stages but then I stopped watching because other shows came on. I would catch up every once in a while but I felt it lost some value when they kept replacing people but they did up their gadgets and graphics. The show finally ended because Syfy did not renew it however I've heard if they do ever come back that Destination America or Travel Channel would pick it up.

JL Shioshita (uberproductions) | 40 comments My wife and I loved Ghost Hunters back in the day. Then it felt like they sold out and we just had to stop. Real or not I thought it was entertaining, until they suddenly started declaring every location as haunted. The straw that broke my back was when they visited the bed and breakfast they just recently purchased and opened and claimed it was riddled with activity. Hmmm...sounds legit. We still watch Ghost Adventures though, or as it's known in our house Ghost Frat Boys.

You make a good point although I wouldn't say they "sold out" but pretty close to it. The beginning seasons they legit stick to their guns and look for haunted places and for the most part they get hits every once in a while. There were even sometimes they were scammed into investigating a place they find out was bugged. In later seasons yes, it seems like they totally force that they found stuff even though the evidence is lacking and hard to make out. I felt after they changed members so many times it got less credible and less like it originally was. It was a good show for a while and if they do ever bring it back I hope they go back to what made it good.

JL Shioshita (uberproductions) | 40 comments Couldn't agree more dude! Loved those early seasons.

message 18: by Marie (new)

Marie I use to watch the early stuff of Ghost Hunters, but eventually other shows captured my interest, so I stopped watching them. I started watching Ghost Adventures and still continue to watch them, along with Paranormal Survivor, Ghostly Encounters, A Haunting, Paranormal Witness, and My Haunted House.

message 19: by Isebella (new)

Isebella | 7 comments I was a huge fan of Ghost Hunters in its earlier years, but I found other more exciting content to watch. A Haunting, Destination Truth, Ghost Adventures, The Haunted, Paranormal Witness, My Ghost Story, The Haunting Of and other shows. But what really made me give up on Ghost Hunters was when they came to my hometown and filmed an episode there. I had to roll my eyes and crack jokes with my sisters when we watched the episode air on tv. It was too melodramatic for my taste.

Justin (justinbienvenue) I also feel like Grant took a lot of heat from the innocent at the Stanley and that's why he quit a few years after. It was the one time you really felt like the faked evidence.
