Margaret (mhoag) | 1 comments I love all of Steven Saylor's books about Ancient Rome. His Gordianus the Finder books are great reads and cover quite a lot of Roman history through the eyes of Cicero. However his masterful book ROMA which is a fictional history of the founding of Rome is amazing. It is so accurate my son is reading it for a project in his high school history class.

Joe | 2 comments Count me as a major Saylor fan. Roma was brilliant. I think I've read all of his books now except for the newest one. I'll take care of that in the next couple of weeks! Apart from the wonderful ancient world books, A Twist at the End was also brilliant.

Assaph Mehr | 5 comments Aargh, don't post spoilers!
I am in the middle of Caesar by McCollough, with 2.5 books to read till I finish that series. I hate stopping in the middle...
I'll check out A Twist at the End too.

Joe | 2 comments Hello Assaph,

What was the spoiler? I said nothing about any story lines.
Enjoy Caesar!

Best Regards,
Joe

Assaph Mehr | 5 comments It's not about what you said, but what you might say :)
I just don't want this to get into a discussion about the surprising twist in the end...

And thanks! I can't believe it has taken my so long to read McCullough's books. They're amazing!
