Just like in the Hunger Games, there is a cornucopia in the Casting Games, only rather than supplying weapons they supply wands of various strengths. If you run away from the cornucopia, you obviously won't be getting a wand, and then there is very little chance for your survival. If you want to survive, you either retrieve a wand here, or steal one later in the game. Aside from that, they also supply food, rope, medical equitment, water bottles, water ect.
