Rose (dottedlines) Adair strolled through the aisles, lacking a purpose. She wasn't looking for anything in particular, just something that'd help take away all the bitchiness Anecia had been pouring onto her lately. Her finger danced across the CDs, not stopping at any single one. She glanced around the store which was empty except for herself, the store owner and two wasted looking teens. They stared at her in awe, as of not being able to believe they were so close to her presence. Adair rolled her eyes and went back to looking at the CDs. She was not in the mood to flirt today.

Despite the teens shameless gawking and occasional catcalls, Adair felt quite comfortable in Broken Records. It was the one place that wasn't always jammed pack with tourists, hipsters or highschool wannabes and she liked it that way. Of course, the less people, the less attention on her, but whatever. Sometimes, to be invisible was just what she needed.

Unfortunately, she couldn't be invisible when two shady looking punks were staring at her. She could feel the eyes trained on her back and even lower. Finally, a nerve snapped and she whipped around. "Do you mind?" She hissed, glaring at the two. One of the duo visibly shrank back, his back bending in an attempt to look smaller. The braver of the two smiled what Adair thought he must've considered to be a seductive smile. "Nah baby. The view's good, the music's good, the weed's good." He cackled. His friend, having gained some of his confidence back laughed along.

Adair's eyes narrowed as she felt her fists clench by her side. She could take the two out before they could say "radical", but she decided there was a better way of embarrassment: playing with their hearts.

"Really? You guys must be real bad. I like bad boys." She cooed, biting her lower lip and moving closer to them. The two looked shocked at her response. Finally, the less brave of the two closed the space between him and her. "I think you're hot." He said bluntly. His friend, deciding not to let his sidekick get all the fun, closed the space between him and Adair as well. "What's your name doll?" He asked. It took all Adair's will power not to gag. "Must we really exchange names? Or can we get right to the fun?" She purred. The braver one grinned a nasty grin and grabbed her left breast. "Let the fun begin." He hooted. Adair's eyes widened as her jaw clenched. Fuck playing with their hearts. She was gonna beat their asses. She grabbed the boy's arm and swung him over her back. Once he was on the floor, moaning, she kicked him swiftly in the gut, ensuring he wouldn't be getting up too soon. She glanced at his friend, who was trembling. "Get out of here douche." She snapped, to which he obeyed and ran out.

Adair slapped a $50 bill on the counter in front of the store owner. "You saw nothing." She smirked. He nodded lazily and stuffed the money in his pocket.

Adair chuckled and went back to looking through CDs, completely ignoring the groaning teen on the floor, only a few feet away from her.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay Pushing open the front door of the shop, a light ringing went off, the bell being triggered to alert the shopkeepers that there was a customer. It seemed that it was fate that Calvin should push open the door, as no sooner had he stepped in than a boy smelling strongly of weed bolted for the exit. Calvin barely had enough time to slip to the side and out of their path while still looking to be 'normal'. The scent of the drug was enough to make Calvin's lip curl downwards in a slight frown before he shut the door and strolled down one of the CD aisles.

He should've known that the source of the petrified punk would be a wolf. Ha, he should've figured that it would be none other than his very own beta. Leaning over the CD's his fingertips passing the titles and hesitating before pulling one up and flipping it over to look at the songs on the back, he didn't even look up as he spoke to Adair. She was across from him, the rack of CD's between them. "Causing trouble, Adair?"

He sounded as calm as though he had been asking her about the weather. The sounds of the boy groaning was starting to grate on Calvin's nerves though. The boy acted as though he was dying, when at the worst he would have some bruises. It wasn't as though Adair was stupid enough to cause internal bleeding so the boy had nothing to worry about. Although....to be honest, Calvin was used to Adair's temper. Used to her getting fed up with the way some guys acted towards her and then reacting a little strongly.

"Those self-defense classes really do make a girl dangerous." Self-defense classes? More like a cover-up to explain to any eavesdroppers why she was able to react like that. Adair's wolf made her strong, but physically the girl looked more the type to run the treadmill at the gym rather than rock the punching bag. In other words, she had the physique of a model. Not a girl who could whip a boy over her shoulder within ten seconds and then kick his gut while he lay on the ground writhing in pain.

Putting the CD back among it's brethren, Calvin's sharp and alert gaze went back to browsing. This place wasn't his favorite. To him it was often too noisy, too smelly, and impossible to find anything he wanted. It was easier to use the internet and buy music from online, rather than go here and shuffle through CD's. At least in Calvin's mind anyway. He had only come here because he was bored..... bored and curious to test his luck. Maybe today he might find something interesting....so far he was finding his beta's actions to be a little interesting.

Rose (dottedlines) Adair didn't look up when she heard the tiny bell at the top of the entrance door chime. She figured it was the disoriented sidekick, making his quick getaway. She chuckled quietly to her herself. "So much for BFFs forever." She muttered, her fingers once again dancing across CD titles, still unsure of what she was looking for.

It wasn't until she heard a deep male's voice startle her from her quiet little world. It could've been the other druggie, finally coming to, but she didn't remember his voice being so... So melodic, so powerful, so commanding... So sexy. It could've been the shopkeeper, but his voice was higher and came with a drawl. It could only be Calvin, her handsome Alpha.

She looked up, trying to hide the smile creeping its way around her lips. "No sir." She responded when he asked if she was causing trouble. Adair bit her lower lip in an attempt to look innocent, but she knew she couldn't hide her mischief from the Alpha of her clan. It was written all over her face, shown in her eyes.

She glanced a quick overview of him. She couldn't deny it, Calvin was hot. If he had been any other position any one, regular pack mates included, she would've pounced at him. Unfortunately, Keepers strictly prohibited Alphas from seeing anyone other than other Alphas. It was quite a same really. His chiseled abs and strong jaw kept catching her eye. His bright eyes twinkled with confidence. Of course she had thought about being with Calvin, but she could never reveal that.

Adair's eyes finally wondered over a CD that caught her eye. She wouldn't have even taken a second glance at it if she hasn't been scanning so absentmindedly. She pulled it out, her lips curving upward into a rare smile. A classic. The Rolling Stones. She didn't have this one. "Excuse me." She said politely to Calvin, acknowledge she was leaving the conversation. It was common manners and required,

Adair walked over to the counter and placed the CD on the tabletop. "How much?" She asked, avoiding eye contact. The shopkeeper was a shifty fellow who made her feel the slightest bit uncomfortable. It was uncommon for her to feel this way, but something about him seemed off. "30 bucks." He sniffed, not even glancing in her direction. It was ridiculous overpriced for a CD, but Adair slapped a fifty dollar bill on the table anyway. "Keep the change. Buy yourself a nice shirt or something." She sneered, glancing with disgust at his stained, holed muscle tee. He didn't seem to mind and said nothing as he stuffed the money into his pants pocket as he had done before with the bribe money.

Adair walked back over to Calvin and smiled, trying to hide all traces of seductiveness. She could not flirt with an Alpha. "The classes certainly are paying off. Master Quinn says if I keep it up, I could be a black belt by the end of the month." She lied casually, picking off the conversation right where they had ended.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay Calvin nodded at her words. So easy to lie. So easy to let the words slip off ones tong and utter such deceit. Yet it was necessary. The secret had to be kept. Otherwise bad things happened. They could all get sent off to a lab somewhere. They could be killed. They could be scorned and discriminated against......Oh yes. Ask Calvin if he remembered that Adair had been a bit of an outcast in her younger years? He'd deny that she was never not the young lady she was today. He knew though....she'd once been quite the timid girl when it came to things like dating and other such things.

No longer. She was now the strong confident Beta that the pack needed, and even though she had a habit of burning bridges with every male that fell under her spell....she was a valuable asset. He honestly did rely on her. He was the calm and she was the storm. They worked well together because where he held his tongue, she lashed out with her cutting sarcastic comments or sharp glares. She helped keep control over the pack when they started to get a bit unruly. It's why she was a valuable beta. They certainly worked better together than some of the other Alpha-Beta combos.

She'd bought a rolling stones CD. Interesting, and yet not what he would have chosen. Pausing he walked around the CD aisle, striding towards Adair and wrapping his hand around her wrist lightly. Funny how slender and small her wrist seemed. Weren't appearances fooling? Luckily Adair was smart enough to know that when he grabbed her wrist it meant that he wanted to lead her somewhere. Unlike some of the stupid human girls who would get all flushed thinking he wanted to kiss them or something like that. Fools.

Luckily for Calvin broken records was one of those stores that still had record players and vinyl records to play music on. Granted it was towards the back of the shop, which was why he had taken her hand and started to lead her towards the back. As he walked, Calvin was thankful to his wolfish aura. The aura that made the burnouts that were hanging out in the back suddenly move off towards the front of the store. Inside his head he couldn't help but chuckle with amusement. Outwardly? He showed nothing except a mutual expression.

Once at the back of the store it only took him a few moments to locate the record he wanted her to listen to. "Vinyl sounds ten times better than CD." Slipping the record out of it's casing he gingerly placed it on the player before lining up the needle and starting the music. It wasn't long before the melody of Lose It, by Cartel, began to play in the store. Of course this record had been a special order that Calvin had placed a few weeks ago. Which was how he knew where it was. He ordered the music and then never came to pick it up. After all.....he didn't have a record player. And even if he had one, chances were that with all the rough-housing done at the pack house, it would've gotten broken a few times already.

Of course there wasn't too much time to gauge Adair's reaction. The hair on the back of his neck rose, and his skin tingled slightly, as though there was an itch he couldn't scratch. Of course. He knew the reason why and no sooner had he been thinking than his phone beeped in his pocket. The message already one he knew well enough. Adair didn't have to get involved though. She could still have fun, which was why rather than say much of anything, not even a farewell. Calvin headed out of the door, the voices of Cartel still playing as he headed off towards the location of these summons.

Rose (dottedlines) Adair followed Calvin as he dragged her to the back of the store. Then again, she didn't really have a choice. He had gripped her wrist with a hold of steel. She was strong, but she wasn't that strong. She had to admit, she was amused. It wasn't everyday your Alpha grabbed you by your arm and dragged you to "some secret part of a vintage music shop". Adair let a few scandalous thoughts slip through her mind before giving in completely and following Calvin.

The shopkeeper didn't even seem to care. It seemed he was too absorbed in his Wonder Woman comic to notice the duo sneaking carefully away from the CDs and into a more private area.

Once in the back of the store, Adair gently pulled her wrist away from Calvin's grasp. She didn't want to seem rude, but she also didn't want the position to indicate any emotions between the two. She never knew, a Keeper could come strolling by any minute now.

Adair had to admit; Calvin was a good Alpha. Not only was he responsible and courageous, but he was fair and worked well with everyone. It was an enviable quality. Although Adair herself had good leadership skills, she had never been a real "team trooper". They suited each other well: he was reasonable and thoughtful, she was brash and uncontrolled. Two polar opposites, that when in the field, worked nicely together. He was a good Alpha and she considered herself a good Beta.

When the melody of a song came into play, Adair was quite surprised. She had not expected him to be the type to like Cartel. She, herself too big of a fan, but the song was sweet and catchy. She soon found herself swaying to the beat.

Suddenly, Calvin left. It was quite abrupt and left Adair shaken. Had she done something wrong? She hoped not. Shrugging to herself, she stopped the Vinyl and placing it back carefully into it's casing. She then noticed it was addressed for Calvin. He must've pre-ordered it and forgotten to pick it up. She smiled softly to herself and tucked the record underneath her arm. She'd pick up a record player on the way back to the pack house. Hopefully the rowdy ones back home wouldn't destroy it before she had a chance to play the Vinyl again. Adair walked out the store, not even bothering to hide the Vinyl. Calvin had already paid for it anyway. The half-asleep store owner might have not even noticed otherwise. She stepped outside into the sunlight and smiled. She could tell it was going to be an eventful day.
