Jen Johnson (jenjohnsonohio) Do a Google search for "Amazon transfer documents to ____" and add your device in kindle fire, paperweight, ipad, etc. and you will get instructions. Jessica's directions are correct but you will get more detailed on Amazon if you still have to set up your kindle email address (or figure out what it is) plus register your regular email address with Amazon to accept the emails and add to your device. It is really easy. Just follow instructions. Good luck!

Guenevere (zombiepenguen) Another question - do they work the same as Kindle files for sending them back? Or is it just a doc file like PDFs are documents?

OhEmG (mleskc) | 14 comments You don't have to send a mobi file back.

Mindy (mindywilson) Do the mobi files expire? Will they automatically come off my Kindle after a certain period of time?

nope, a mobi file is just a book file. No expiration date, nothing like that. It won't show up in the "manage your kindle" section on amazon, so if you delete it from the device, but you might want to read it again at a later date, make sure you save the file on your computer.

If you email the mobi file to your send-to-kindle email address, it will show up under "manage your kindle".
