I'm Taylor, and I enjoy thinking about socioeconomic dilemmas. :) I'm just trying out this group for a little bit…I recently left a very successful debate group after sustaining a lot of abuse, so I may not hang around debate groups very long anymore. But I look forward to parlaying with y'all!

Hey Abbey, yeah just joined. DA hasn't been the same since Richard became a Mormon. Grace, Taylor knows I'm only joking. We disagreed on a lot of things but I was never mean to him.
That's why we need a special font for jokes or sarcasm.

"Hit pigeons flutter." That's what Reed Benson, son of Ezra Taft Benson, told my class many times when I was a student in his class. "Hit pigeons flutter." He said it so often it actually stuck in my head. But I guess he was also right. People don't like having their beliefs challenged so they flutter and run off. I applaud you Taylor for actually having the strength of your convictions not to run away. It's sad how most people would rather believe a comfortable lie than a hard truth.
Actually, G, I'm getting fed up with you so I'm considering leaving. This debate environment was a lot more friendly before you came along.

@TaylorWhat exactly am I doing that you're getting fed up with? Have I been rude? Have I been insulting? I disagree with your ideas and I argue why I disagree. Isn't that kind of the point of a debate group? It doesn't bother me that you disagree with me.
It mostly just bothers me that, when you debate, you seem to intentionally miss the point of what I'm trying to say. You keep on throwing up these straw man arguments and it's just draining.
I'm leaving the group. Tried reading one thread and there was entirely too much hostility. Some missed the whole point of the group. Good try by the moderators. Sorry it didn't work out. This isn't the first group I've left because some cannot tolerate the opinions of others. Sad.
