Just a quick question in regards to this book. I realized that it's a #3 part to a series, but can I read this book without reading #1 and #2?

Hi Nicole-Danielle. Welcome to our group. I've only read one of José Saramago's books, and it wasn't part of this series. I think there are others in the group who have read it and may be able to help.I have moved this topic to a different folder so that it fits into our group's structure a little better.
I am so sorry if I caused some inconvenience. I don't know much about groups and forums. As I checked, "Blindness" and "Seeing" is part #1 and #2, whereby they said that Death with Interruptions is #3. Don't want to start reading it, and be disappointed because I am unaware of what has happened, and seeing that Malaysia does not carry Jose Saramago's books, I have to ship the first 2 before reading this :)
Don't be sorry. Everyone is allowed and encouraged to start new topics. I just mentioned that I moved your topic to explain the change. :)
I read this book in October 2012 with many others as a Group Read. Here is a link to that discussion.I believe some members had read the others by José Saramago and some had not.
I read Death with Interruptions independently and do not think it made a difference to my enjoyment of the book.
I think you are safe in reading it, without reading the other two!☻
Yay! Thank you so so much! Because I noticed Amazon and Betterworldbooks selling "Blindness" and "Seeing" together as one book, but not Death with Interruptions. I didn't want to ruin the reading experience :)Thank you so so much!, really appreciate it :)
xx
