Mpiggy What perspective do you prefer to read more? First person or third person? Why?
I prefer third person because then you know more about all the characters and what everyone is thinking. I feel that in first person, the author has to really connect with their main character to make them feel fully developed. That's just my thoughts. I still enjoy first person books though (The Hunger Games!!!), I just like third person reads better.

First person, third person: doesn't matter to me as long as the story is good.

Gabriella (gmargarita) Depends on the story and characters, really. Sometimes first person gives more information and sometimes third person does as well. I've even read a few stories in second person, which was difficult to get used to but ended up working well.

Katie | 54 comments My favorite perspective is definitely 1st person. I read many books told that way, and that's what I use when I write as well. I do like the 3rd person books that I read too, though.

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I prefer 3rd person. I find that as a reader, I get a much better understanding of all the characters when the narrator is omnipotent.
