I recently reviewed a time-travel romance that developed on the Oregon Trail back in 1852. The Ruby Brooch The Ruby Brooch by Katherine Lowry Logan . I loved it and now I'm hooked on the series.

Roxanne Snopek (roxannesnopek) Thanks you guys, I'm adding both to my TBR list!

Jackie Williams | 34 comments I am just getting into Western Romance.

I never really considered it before, mostly because.

1) I can't ride horses.
2) I never had the opportunity to ride a cowboy.
3) We Brits are far too stuffy to read anything with leather or sweat or a huge and possibly dangerous animal positioned between the thighs!

But I am now a convert! (not to all of the above as I still haven't got the hang of 1 or even 2)

I just love it. Historical Westerns too. I want calico dresses and baking bread and clinking spurs and a tipped hat and holsters and gold and guns and horses and ranches and wide open plains...Very beguiling!

Any brilliant Western recommendations please send my way.
(No 'Christian' suggestions thanks. I can't stand all that getting pregnant by holding hands or batting eyelashes. The wild west is meant to be hot and I like my men even hotter!)

If you like Historical Westerns I would recommend you try a book called the Bargain Bride by Rebecca Demederios. Her books are brilliant and a refreshing take on this genre.

That's interesting Tarian because A bargain Bride and the follow up 'A Betting Bride' are 2 of my favourite Westerns. They are in the historical genre but not the Oregon trail type which I can't get on with at all.

I like the Liberty series because the characters are real. Funny, sexy, strong. Those books have a bit of everything and a dark underplot too.
