Kelly (kerryrynn) | 6 comments Hi, the books I am looking for (I believe there were 2) are about a man who was law enforcement in a large city. After being injured, he returns to his home town. In one of the books, the bad guy meets his demise in a grain silo. Would appreciate any help in remembering the title or author. Thanks!

Cheryl (cherylllr) I just checked, in case Witness was based on a book, but apparently not. I also can't find, in GR's db, a book adaptation written based on the movie.

Kelly, do you have any idea when these books were written?

Cheryl, I am guessing within the last 15 years. I know it is not Witness.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Ok, well you've got 39 views so far. Bump this thread in a month or two for fresh eyes, if you want. :)

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) first guess is that it was a tv movie (horror) starring charles durning.

second guess is that it was a tv movie starring lawrence luckenbill.

grain silos are an old standby for midwestern demise

T (twoo) | 15 comments There was a John Sandford book that had a guy being killed or dumped in a grain silo, and the main character (Lucas Davenport) is in law enforcement and has a scar. This series is set in the Minneapolis and surrounding area.

John Sandford is the author mentioned by T. There are at least 21 books in the series (I got that from the first book listed in the titles.) So maybe this will help you.

T (twoo) | 15 comments Ah, and a quick Google indicates that it wasn't a Lucas Davenport, but a Virgil Flowers tale of death in a grain silo....SEe Bad Blood...

Of course Virgil fans will know that he is not scarred as Lucas is, so that might blow the "injury" hint in the original poster's description....

Kelly, are you still looking for this book?

I am still looking. I know it is not a John Sanford book (I have all of those). There were at least two books with the character in the book I'm looking for. He was a young man who (after being injured) returns to his home town. Very good book - just cannot remember the title.

Kelly--if you bump up your thread periodically (every 30 to 60 days is the usual time span) you'll have a better chance at getting it found.

Thanks - this is the first time I have done this.

Still looking?

message 16: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (kerryrynn) | 6 comments Yes I am. I moved from CA to Idaho about 7 years ago and packed all my books. I know I have the books I just can't find them. Was hoping to get them for my Nook.

Booklist review mentions a climatic scene in a silo.

Do you remember the cover?
Time period the story take place?
