Mine hmm I think my favorite book of the series was The Knife of Never Letting go, I mean it starting it all! What's yours and why?

Yep, the first book. First of all, I love Todd like anything on this Earth. He's my boy <3 and I don't really like Viola. And Manchee was in it, god sakes!

So when she started narrating in the second/third book, i was getting a little pissed because ew get out this is TODD'S story.

Plus he's just him in the first book. Not changed. Not brainwashed by Mayor fucking Prentiss and OMG get out 1017 you do NOT get your own chapters :P

Georgina Monk I really don't like Viola either. Which is a shame considering it's my favourite name.

The Ask and the Answer. All the themes really start to show in this one and I love his relationship with Davy and his moral dilemma over right and wrong.

This is such a quotable book too! Definitely The ask and the answer. I loved Manchee but I don't really like travelling books or ones where their running from something and I don't know- I felt a kind of sympathy with Mayor Prentiss in the second book. I kind of wanted him to turn out nice I guess.

I did love the third one but I'm not really into battles and the Spackle camp parts were good but just not as good as Todd's. It had got a bit Sci fi by this time anyways.

Ugh... I just... I just don't see how people can feel sympathy for the Mayor. He had no heart in any way, he was evil and cunning and low the whole time. He turned their world to utter shit and he shot his own son. I really don't understand how people can like him, which some people DO.

♥♡¢σσкιє♥♡ (Krystle) I got the collection and read them all at the same time, so it read like one giant book to me. The Knife of Never Letting go was the one that got me hooked so I guess it's my favorite.

Tiffo I love The Ask and The Answer too! It's just like, you're so afraid of second-book-syndrome and then POOF it brings in all these worldly elements, these quintessential questions... I love how everything just ESCALATED. It's like you're baking a clay bowl for the first time and you don't know what to expect and then suddenly a unicorn pops out of it and you're like-- since when was this part of the equation? Yeah, but back to the book-- Monsters of Men would've been my favorite... but the ending was-- explosive. Unexpected. I LITERALLY didn't know how to feel about it. All I knew was that I was shocked. SHELL-SHOCKED. Favorite series. :)

Omg same, except the first book was my favorite.

Shannon I love all the books. I think it is really hard to choose only one book but I would say Monster Of Men. At this point the story is really well developed and you understand The New World way better than before. Todd is not living in a awkward dream like in the first book. We get to see a totally different side of Mayor Prentiss. That side of him btw is amazing. He is a really great character, even thought he's a jerk and a murderer. Plus he is a good villain. I mean a villain you're scared of, that you know is powerful and you know is damn smart. I was always liking him and disliking him!
We get to see Viola doubting a little of her love for Todd. You guys might be: "WTH are you talking about Shannon?" well.. I don't think a plot needs to go exactly where I want it to go to actually like it. When it makes me believe that's a person, there fore, will disappoint me I'm super glad and at the same time believe it a lot more! Also I was not imagining that would happen like it happened. I thought Lee was going to be the reason. But no LOL
So... Yeah and there's Bradley and Simone. I like them. Bradley is kind of annoying but he has a point. He doesn't want war, even thought he gets one anyway. But he is an admirable character cause he sticks to his beliefs and ideals.
And I like Viola a lot. She annoyed me a lot sometimes, but she's just a strong girl. She's not like "Please save me, I'm stupid". She represents a female lead character with a lot of will and strength. She's fearless and even thought she can be a pain sometimes I do love her and I think she's perfect for Todd <3
BEEEEEEEEEEN'S RETURN! It was so beautiful and I puked a rainbow! He's just so kind hearted and sweet and loving and caring and amazing! I LOVE BEN. Not as much as Todd does, but he's just everything! And I WAS ULTRA GLAD WHEN I DISCOVERED HE WAS THE SOURCE!
The only thing that was not that good for me was the fact that Davy died already and was not in that book T-T I mean, he changed and he loved Todd! And he was sorry for "killing" Ben OTL I almost cried when he died and I wish he could comeback.
Anyway, for me Monster of Men is the best book of the series. I know a lot of you won't agree with me.

Andrea These books are (so far) the best series I've read. Each book brought something to the series that made it great, which makes it extremely difficult for me to choose a favorite. The first book was what originally hooked me to the series (and sent me into a frenzy when I couldn't find the second one). It moved at a breakneck pace and left me winded. The second book seemed to slow down a bit, but it introduced a new point of view and really sent Todd through the emotional wringer. And then we have the third book. Oh, Monsters of Men, you really know how to rip a girl's heart out, don't you? If it weren't for what seemed to me to be some overly-convenient occurrences you would've been perfect.
I really don't want to pick a favorite, but if I have to I'll give in and say The Knife of Never Letting Go. As I said, it hooked me on the series. Without it, I never would've read the second and third. So thank you first book. I guess I really owe ya one!

youngzheng Spoiler alert! Dont read this if you haven't read the whole series. I personally liked the first and last book, the second book wasn't too bad, but it's just kinda.. draggy? cuz it's all mayor effing prentiss and Todd, Mistress Coyle and Viola, Effing Prentiss and Todd, Coyle and Viola.. and so on, nothing major really happened, well maybe there were (i can't really remember)

The first book was amazing! I remember that feeling when Manchee died, i was like WTF WTF WTF WTF i don't wanna read it anymore but then you'll soon get over it, though i still feel sad bout Manchee.

The third book was really, really awesome especially the climax part when Ben came back and everything changed, i was so stupid i thought Major Prentiss could really turn good but nahh... bad guys will always be bad. When he got eaten i was lik, finally, it's over..everything's over but then 1017 came and shot that effing gun and WTF WTF WTF all messed up... and bla bla bla you know...

BEST SERIES I'VE READ SO FAR

i heard the movie's coming out somewhere in the future maybe next year or the year after i'm so excited
can't wait! :)

Jamila The last book!!
