What happened to everyone??
Hi, I love goodreads, but I'm only checking in when I finish a book I've read. I have way too many of those :) That would explain why I virtually absent here most of the time.

Me too Gina. I guess we do all the talking in the Game swaps!
Hi Shannon!June was referring to the game swaps we have on PBS. (paperbackswap.com) If you've never tried the site or the games, you really should!! They are lots of fun and we get some great "wish listed" books there. If you'd like more info on the games, just let one of us know and we'll be glad to help :)
Yeah, June, maybe that's it, sometimes there is a good bit of chat in the swaps. But, I see no reason why we can't talk books or whatever here, too!
I agree Gina, I'm always willing to talk books! There's a couple of Gina's in the Games. What is your nickname.
Would love to see you in the Games Shannon. Look up GAMES in the Forum and find an elephant swap that has sign ups open.
I run lots of games. I will be opening a mystery game this weekend. They are fun and you find lots of great new books.
There's a couple of Gina's in the Games. What is your nickname.I'm Gina S.(gina329)
Alice is a wonderful game hostess, and her games always have a great group of players that are always willing to help newbies :) Come on over and give it a try!
Looking forward to the Mystery swap Alice.Did you know how much I'm loving HF lately? I've been on a kick!
My favorite are historical mysteries. Great combination of mystery and HF. I run lot of HF swaps too.
I really didn't read much historical fiction until I joined PBS. I'm liking it more and more, but I'm still picky as to the type that interests me. I love the historical mysteries most of all.
I also love the HF books about WW2 and anything to do with Kings and queens, especially England. I'm watching the series White Queen on Starz on Saturday nights and it's wonderful. Next week on CW, they are starting a series about Mary Queen of Scots .
I like HF about WW2 also, and I read quite a few non-fiction about WW2. I have to space them out, though, because it can be so depressing and sad. I really have to be in the mood for those type.I was watching the White Queen, the pilot show was great! I've missed a few shows, so now it's harder to keep up with what's going on.
Gina, the last episode is Sat. Night. Maybe you can get it On Demand if you have that, or perhaps you can Stream it. It was womderful
I've swapped at PBS for years and years now (one of the first members to join). Did my bit for data editing and uploading imaging. Still volunteer as a tour guide. I tried a couple of games and I don't know .. it's complicated. Participated in a couple of mailing list events .. sent out Christmas cards and another where we swapped ornaments.
I'm a chapter leader too .. although my group has dwindled way down .. just 3 of us meet regularly now .. just can't seem to get anyone else interested.

I'm also a Tour Guide, but don't remember seeing you in the TG Forum. Are you still active? I love doing it, it's fun and I'm online most of the day anyway.
As for the Games, that's where I get most of my WL books and some I didn't even know I wanted! Great books !
Renata, we'd love to have you come try the games again! Like June said, it's a great way to score some good WL books, not to mention the fun of it all. Of course, there's the risk of maxing out your WL, but it's my favorite way to find my next good read :) Come on over and join us! We LOVE to see new faces, and everyone is always willing to help.
Like others, I am pretty much only in here to add books. I don't even get into PBS that much, unless I am looking for something. Maybe I should try to explore more
It's pretty addictive Michele. PBS is part of my daily routine! Wouldn't be without it! Also met some awesome people.
Michele, I'd definitely encourage you to explore more and get involved! It has a lot to offer, it's a great book "community." I've really enjoyed meeting other book lovers, there's a bunch of really nice folks over there :) It has really opened me up to books I might not have normally read or found!
Thanks you guys for the feedback. I used to be more active, but not as much lately but I attribute that to whether or not I am reading a book from the stack I got from PBS or if its on my kindle.
Hi Anne! I'm glad to see some activity, too! Maybe we can revive this thread again :) Head over and check out those swaps, they're so much fun!
Same here, I can't get on either. I guess PBS is down, it says "system error and server error" when I try to log in. I've been hearing others talk the past few days about problems getting on, so I guess it's our turn now :(
Gina, I requested your friendship on PBS. My username is anneemull. I just briefly looked at some of the swap games. I am sooo confused as to how they work.
Anne
Hi Anne!I accepted your friend invite and would be glad to help you with the games! Also, don't be put off by the looks of the games, it actually makes more sense once you play. Trust me, if I can play, anyone can, lol. Plus, we have such a great group of folks that play and they are always willing to help! We have 2 players, June and Alice, that have been on this thread/forum and I'm sure they would be glad to help too. In fact, our lovely Alice is a game hostess. We like newbies! Feel free to message me anytime and I'll be glad to help!

Had a flurry of help requests in October. It's been very, very quiet this month.
Just thought I would check in and see if anything is going on. Anybody have any ideas on how to bring this group back to life??
Hey Gina, I think we all do our chatting in the Games Forum. How about we talk about the last book we've read and what we are now reading?
I'll go first. I finished The Girl You Left Behind. It was wonderful and is now on my favorites list. 5 stars! Highly recommended.
Reading now, The Tulip Eaters. This book grabbed me right away when a doctor went home and found her mother murdered and her baby kidnapped. I'm only on page 80 and can't put the book down!
Who's next?
I've been trying to read Dreams of Gods & Monsters however the hard back is proving to be more than my arms are willing to hold up, so last night I started Hyde it is really interesting so far but I'm only in chapter 4.
Hi Gina, June and Shannon. I am reading The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror. I just started it but am loving it so far.
I also haveWhen Will the Heaven Begin?: This Is Ben Breedlove's Story going on as well. This one I am moving through slowly.
It's nice to see some activity here. Thanks, Gina!I just finished Cinder and it exceeded my expectations! I really enjoyed it. I am now reading Ordinary Thunderstorms and it has hooked me from the start.
Oh, and by the way, Nikki. I read The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror awhile back and it has some of the funniest lines I've ever read!

Cinder was a really good book. I just got the second book in the series from PBS and will be starting on that one by the weekend.

I am looking forward to reading the 2nd book but it will be awhile before it comes through on my wishlist unless I can snag it in the wishlist virtual box or one of the swaps sooner. I'd be interested to know how it compares to the 1st when you finish?
Susan wrote: "Nikki wrote: "Susan wrote: "It's nice to see some activity here. Thanks, Gina!I just finished Cinder and it exceeded my expectations! I really enjoyed it. I am now reading [book..."
Definitely! :-)
Yay! I'm so glad to see some chit chat here! Good idea June to discuss current and "just finished" reads!I'm going to have to check out a couple mentioned. I just finished Reconstructing Amelia and really enjoyed it! I gave it 4.5 stars, I thought it was well done. I'm struggling through a book called The Beginner's Goodbye by Anne Tyler for my book club, but it's not really holding my attention. I'll let you know how it turns out. Kinda surprised it was even chosen for a book club. Oh well, we'll see.
I recently finished The King by J.R. Ward It is a wonderful series. Books have gotten a bit to big she could cut out some of the sub plots and not lose much. I love the ending of this one.
Ohh there are quite a few books mentioned here that I have lined up to read. It makes me excited to hear good things about them.
As for Reconstructing Amelia, I'm expecting to get it shortly as I won it in one of Alice's swaps! yay swaps!! I'll have to move it up on TBR.I haven't heard of or read any of the other books mentioned. I'll have to check them out. I feel so overwhelmed by the growing TBR, I want to read them all at,once! LOL
