Hi! Caitlin and I have chosen A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. Feel free to join the discussion, but mark your spoilers.

I have this book standing unread on my shelves for almost a year now. I've bought it, together with a lot of other English literature books, for my English literature exam. I thought that I had to read a lot of books for my exam, but then I discovered that I would only have to read three, so it wasn't very important to read it soon. Still I wonder why I have to read so many books for my Dutch literature exam, I don't like Dutch books. Anyway, I chose A Clockwork Orange in because I'm a huge fan of Queen and Roger Taylor, the drummer of Queen, and one of his favorite films was/is A Clockwork Orange. So I decided to read the book. It is kind of a lame reason, isn't it? But furthermore I like the topic and I've heard it's greatly written.
Sorry for not updating here for a while, but I've been studying much for my last week of school (tests everyday, yay! - not). I have my oral exam German on Tuesday, for which I'm reading Das Parfum: Die Geschichte eines Mörders (or: Perfume: The Story of a Murderer). But after Tuesday it's summer vacation, so then I'll have enough time to read A Clockwork Orange.
I'm at page 97 now. When I started reading the first 40 pages or so, the book was very hard for me to read because of Nadsat language. I even thought about quitting, but I never quit with any book. So I pushed myself to read further and I became more and more used to the language. Now it isn't so hard for me anymore, and quitting is not even an option for me now. (view spoiler)
