Ebony from Oklahoma! I don't think I have a favorite book, but one that I always recommend would be "the doctors wife" by Elizabeth Brundage.

Tina from Oklahoma. As of right now I don't have a favorite book besides the bible and that doesn't count here :). But I have enjoyed a few books more than others but none that I would want to read twice as of yet. But if I would have to suggest a book off hand it would be The Shack.

To loved "The Shack" too!!

message 5: by Nadia (new)

Nadia A (bagambo) Nadia from Florida! My favorite book is Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. I just love his work - he's my favorite author, alongside Haruki Murakami, Jean Rhys, and John Irving. I haven't read The Shack, but have heard so many great things about that book.

Liza | 35 comments I'm Liza from NY though living in FL. lol.

I have favorite authors but not necessarily a favorite book. I will say Anne Rices' The Witching Hour - This cover too The Witching Hour (Lives of the Mayfair Witches, #1) by Anne Rice - not just because I enjoy her supernatural reads but because I love the look of the books that were done for the series. It has a front cover with a "window". You flip the front cover and you get a full view of the Mayfair Manor. (Anyone have Taltos or Lasher with the window? gotta complete the collection lol)

Mz. Jetson (mzjetson) | 1 comments My name is Latorria, I'm from Georgia, and I have several favorite books, but my fave author is James Patterson. Anything that has to do with crime from him is superb!

Welcome, Welcome Latorria!

I have not read any James Patterson books, but I want to read the whole Alex Cross series real soon. We have it on our list of books to read. I have picked up Along Came a Spider several times, and find myself unable to get with it! But at that time, i didnt have much time to read! When we read it, we would love for you to be in discussions with us!

Thanks for joining, we look forward to your reviews!

Liza | 35 comments RE: James Patterson

I tend to like his books that have nothing to do with Alex Cross lol. I like the stories about the bird children...one is called Lake House (forgot the other one). I believe he continued the series as YA fiction under Maximum (i think, not 100% sure).

Ashley | 10 comments Hi, I'm Ashley from Virginia. I don't really have a specific favorite, but since I recently re-read it I'll go with The Great Gatsby. I also really enjoyed The Poisonwood Bible.

Welcome to the group Ashely! I have read either one of those books, but we hope to read them! We can't wait to get more book discussions going!

message 21: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 10 comments Both are certainly worth the time! Gatsby may be more expensive right now since they just remade the movie. The Poisonwood Bible is a phenomenal book. It's about a minister and his family and the mission trip they take to Africa.

Diamond Drake (diamondthewriter) | 1 comments Hello,
My name is Diamond Drake and I live in northern CA. I'm the author of three dramatic, contemporary romance novels and I'm currently working on my fourth. I don't currently have a favorite book (I'm searching for one, though)but the last time I was moved and fully engulfed in a novel it was "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks. Thanks for inviting me to the group. I look forward to chatting with everyone.

message 24: by Brandi (new)

Brandi Wamsley | 52 comments I guess I never really introduced myself. My name is Brandi and I live in Texas. I have more than one favorite book depending on the genre. Inspirational, I like Same Kind of Different as Me. For the classics I love Joseph Conrad and Jack London. Plus many more. I'm a pretty lenient rater when it comes to the five star system. I love to read so much that its hard for me to find a book I don't like.

message 25: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Owens (nataliegowens) | 2 comments Hello Ebony! Nice to be here and thanks for the invite. My favorite book...there are quite a few but if I have to narrow it down I have to say Jane Eyre. It's a classic that will always stay with me.
My name is Natalie and I currently live in Malta (moved here across the ocean from Atlanta).

A.R. Von (avarene) | 1 comments Hi there all!
Thank you for the invite Ebony! This is my kind of group :)
My name is Ava (aka A.R. Von). I'm a mother first, wife second and an author third. So far I've written paranormal romance shorts and LOVE the rush! If you're curious. Here's one of them Wunder (0.5 Dreamz) by A.R. Von . It's just one of the series. I hope to have another released in August.

As for my favorite authors/books. I could make a novella of names alone! Just to give you an idea. There's Stephen King, George R.R. Martin, Charlaine Harris, J.R. Ward, Bronwyn Green, Gina L. Maxwell, Lisa Renee Jones, Kris Norris, M.A. Abraham, Patricia Briggs, Chris Lange, R.G. Alexander and many many more... The reason why they are all my favorites... They write some great stories that grip me and do not let go even weeks after reading :)

It's nice to meet you all!

message 30: by Tiffany (new)
