The vote on genre for the July read-in will happen between May 28th - June 7th. Once we have the results I'll post in this thread...

If you are an author, and a member of our group, and write within the selected genre you can 'pitch' your book in this thread for readers to choose from. (As part of this process you need to be prepared to supply e-copies of your book to the participating readers, similar to other ARR systems, in time for the reading month to start).

Readers interested in taking part should comment in the same thread on the books they like the look of to give us 2 - 3 'finalists' to be voted for to select the final 'Book of the Month'.

Authors - To help us along in selecting a book, please only post your nomination as:

ONE sentence on why we should choose your book
The book cover (using the Goodreads insert feature)
The book synopsis (as it appears on Goodreads)

Looks like the Mystery category has won the polls for the July Group-Read. Like mentioned in the first post, give us one sentence on why we should choose your book, the book cover (using the Goodreads insert feature), and the book synopsis (as it appears on Goodreads). Please list books in the Mystery category only. A new poll will be created to vote on the books for the July group read after a few days.

I know it's the last day of the month, but I would vote for a supernatural detective story written by my brother. It's The Black Eye. All the fun of a paperback detective story with a detective worth following!

Thanks for your submission. I'm not sure where Tanya went, but perhaps we can postpone the mystery group read for August so we can get more submissions and more time to gather everyone up.

Thoughts on this are welcome (from anyone).

A mystery read-along in August sounds like a good idea. I have just realized everything that I have started reading this month. Maybe by August I'll have the reading list under control... and then again, maybe not. :)

Good point! I have a backlog I'm working on myself. :)

In the meantime, we'll leave this thread open for more people to post their nominations. If we don't get many more, I'll put in a suggestion of my own. If Tanya doesn't check back here in time, I'll create the poll later in the month.

I think I missed July. Are we looking at August yet?

Hi guys - sorry in general for absence of anyone on here. Tanya had personal issues which meant after a very brief few days as a mod she had to finish. Similarly for myself, I've been AWOL and so the group-read has dropped off.

Why don't we use the Mystery result from July, for August? I'll set up the vote thread now, for people to nominate their books over the next week or so and we can vote at the end of next week?
