Ever notice that when a heroine has freckles, she hates them?My son has that smattering across his nose. I melt every time I see them.
lol I have not either. I am just putting it out there for the future really. Now, you will notice! lol And yeah I know that the heroine often hates them. My husband loves mine. :) My son also has the sprinkle across the nose and I love them.
I only can think of two books where the hero has freckles the wonderful Jamie of Outlander and The Beast in Pepper Pace's Beast.
It's funny, for a long time I didn't even notice I had freckles. I even forget I have them lol Don't ask why. I have sprinkling of them on my cheeks. I don't hate them, I'm kind of indifferent to them. Lol My ex used to comment on them and say he likes them.
lol hee I recall that now. I can't recall which Jaid Black book has an h with freckles that the H calls midgie candies.

This is awesome. I've never added freckles to my heroines because I have WAY too many, so I figured my heroines didn't want/need them since I'm not crazy about mine. Funnily enough, I like them on other people. So, great idea to add them to a character. And oh, the fun you can have with them. :-)

LOL I remember a scene I did in which the hero took great pleasure in "counting" her freckles... ;)
My freckles are nothing remarkable. But both my kids have freckles along the bridges of their noses and I melt every time I see them. I'd like to write a hero like that.
Funny, my current character has freckles, but she been in the dark so long they've faded. When they reappear - a sign of returning health, she's embarrassed by them and the H finds them enchanting!I hated my freckles when I was a kid. I was so fair that the only thing that darkened in the summer were my freckles. None of my friends had them and their Grandmas always pinched my cheeks because they thought my freckles were cute!
My daughter is a red head and has such adorable feckles. But they are mainly on her nose. I've had some feckles but not many.
Does she hate being a red head? My sister had red air and freckles which she considered a double tragedy.
I think there is more ginger love now than there use to be. I didn't like it for a while (I am a redhead). But that passed pretty quickly. My son seems to like it. He calls us peach people and looks for us on tv. lol

lol it could be... Jane and the Dragon was our first favorite.I think South Parks Ginger Hatred episode helped us out as well as the news that we might become extinct. lol

LOL I'll have to let my sister know she's done her part to save the gene. She passed her red hair on to her three kids!
I used to dye my hair a fiery auburn. I loved it. Even now when the sun hit it, my hair has auburn highlights.
I know there were red heads in the old B&W movies, but people only saw them in color in a few magazines. By the time Color came to the movies, red heads were scarce except for Red Skelton and Lucille Ball (who wasn't a real one) and while talented, I don't think they did much for the red head image. Otherwise red heads were always relegated to goofy sidekicks, not leading H or h.David Caruso (CSI Miami) is the first real star I can think of who was considered a sexy redhead instead of ditsy or comedic. Dozens have followed and your right, Lisa, Prince Harry has certainly given 'ginger' a boost!
Can anyone think of someone before Caruso? I'm on another useless info research kick. Help me out.
I think red hair got popular cos of Kate Winslet in "Titanic." Before that, it wasn't so popular because so many people in the U.S. hated the Irish immigrants who came over during the potato famine. I was born with 'the curse' & I hated it cos a)guys make snarky remarks like "Is it red all over?" {correct response: "You'll never know!"} & b) you can't perm or color your hair without it turning 'Bozo orange'. I always wore a face cream with sunscreen, so ironically, I don't have freckles on my face--but my arms & legs are covered with them. Love heroines with red hair & also redheaded dolls--my mom always got me dolls with red hair to match mine.
I got a board called redheads. Has both men and women and children. ☺http://www.pinterest.com/pamelaallhon...

Did anyone think of the old book Freckles by Gene Stratton Porter? That was a really sweet book and had a Happily Ever After.
