Milo stared down at the Ancient Scroll through his thick rimmed glasses. He pushed his glasses back up his nose since it was falling down again. Maybe he should think about getting one of those chains to keep it around his neck so it would never actually fall off and hit the ground. Sighing, Milo knew the other guys would laugh at him about it, so it was best not to do something like that. Unlike most people, the young boy wasn't there to decipher what the scroll was saying, he just liked to be there so he wouldn't be in his stuffy office for too long. It was getting warmer and there was only one fan in there to keep him cool, and it wasn't doing its job. It was a little nicer by the Pillar, plus no one around to bother him too much. Or so he hoped. Well at least he could take some comfort in the fact that there was no one around to call him out on his height. Yes, Milo was short, he gets it, no need to laugh about it constantly.
Walking into the room Cornel couldn't help but be a bit curious about the Ancient Scroll, although his mind was pulled off track at the sight of a male with thick dark glasses and who was leaning over the Ancient Scroll close enough to fog up the glass. Walking up behind the guy he peered over his shoulder and then moved around and leaned over on the other side. "What are you doing? Reading the scroll? It's possible. I have a theory that someday someone is going to have the power to read and translate all languages and what not. So I have this feeling that perhaps someone can read the scroll. Can you? Maybe you can. I theorize that you wouldn't tell anyone. Too smart. You're an intellect aren't you. Work in the archives, yes? Miley is it?" He smiled and held out his hand for him to shake, "I'm Cornel. Short for Cornelius."
Milo jumped at the sound of another voice. He stood up quickly and took a step back. People. Man. He hated people. Well not hate, but Milo wasn't a people person and he didn't like it when they snuck up on him. It was better when they introduced themselves from away. With his heart pounding in his chest, Milo stared at the man with wide eyes. Oh yeah, he knew of Cornel - through rumors and idle chitchat - but this was his first time actually meeting the guy. So far Milo decided he was kind of scared of him. Pushing his glasses back up his nose, Milo stood up straight - not that it mattered since Cornel was taller than him like everyone else. "It's Milo, and I work as the Record's Keeper." He was also only seventeen years of age, and graduated from the top of his class, but none of that was important so he kept that to himself. "I-I'm an intellect." And that was all he said. Maybe he should have also told Cornel that he doesn't have any powers, which was something his father thought made Milo weak, but he was happy without one. Milo's strength lies in his brain, and his power came from books. He was more than happy with just that.
"Oh right. Milo. Record's Keeper. Archives. Really the same sort of difference. Well not actually, but it's the same type of general idea." Laughing a bit he reached out and then patted the top of his head, "From what I've heard of the rumors you are not much of a socializer. So i do believe you needent speak if you you don't wish to." Smiling slightly he leaned over and then tapped the side of Milo's head, right at his temple lightly. "How are glasses? are they interesting? They appear to be interesting. I wonder often if they would be rather entertaining to have. Certainly seem like an entertaining sort of thing to have." He paused then and picked them up off of Milo's face. "Can you see with them on? Or are things merely blurry?"
Milo's entire world suddenly became very blurry, and it wasn't because he was trying to keep up with everything Cornel was saying. He followed his questions easily, either nodding or shaking his head, happy he wouldn't have to speak for a change. However, when the older guy took off his glasses, Milo squeaked out, "Hey!" His glasses were the only thing that kept Milo from bumping into things at every turn, without them he was practically blind. Why did this guy just take them off? Blinking, he tried to focus on where Cornel was again. "They aren't supposed to be interesting. They just keep me from bumping into things." And right after he said that, he bumped into the Ancient Scroll, making him stumble back a bit. "I would greatly appreciate it if you would give those back to me. Please." Then he held out his hand to where he though Cornel was, waiting for him to place the glasses in his open palm.
"So you need these. Authentically." Taking the thick spectacles off of his own face he twisted them in his fingertips, looking at them from all angles and careful not to put fingerprints or smudges on the glass. He could only assume that that would be rather annoying to Miley....nope. Milo. "Milo...Milo....Milo.....hmmmmm you don't have an easy name to remember buddy. Short for anything? Or is it just Milo?" He stretched out the letters on the latter time he said his name, turning it from Milo to Myyyyyyyloooooowwwww. Making it have about twenty syllables instead of two. Smiling at the guy he set the glasses back on Milo's face going for direct rather than using the hand as a middle man. "So what are you a fan of? What do you like to study or learn about? Languages? English? History? No offense but I kinda get a history vibe from you." Stepping back he angled his hands looking through them like they were a camera lens or something and closing one eye as he looked at the guy in front of him.
