Madeline trying to read texts (peotry, short stories, books, lyrics) and see how your story or your character relates to it and hopefully it will give you an idea that you can bounce off of or just roll with.
that helps me sometimes.
good luck!!

Paige Miller Listen to some of your favorite songs. Relax, don't push it. Then just let your fingers fly across the keyboard. Don't spell check, don't think about what you're writing. Just write write write until the moment disappears. :) Then repeat if desired.

Elaine (caladhiel) Start "living" with your characters. Walk them around with you every day. If your waiting in a line, waiting for commercials to end, going to sleep, getting ready in the morning, etc. think about what they're doing. Talk with them or have them talk to each other. Pretty soon you'll get so excited about them and their story, you'll have to write!

message 6: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) Work on a different story. (but just do a short one, so you don't get too attached) Then come back to your story.
Wait. I know, I'm impatient too, but wait, ideas will flow.

message 7: by Madeline (new)

Madeline oh oh oh!!!! or start a short story about one of the not-so-important characters from your original story. that will help develop the character(s)

message 8: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller Yeah, I did that before and it really helped me understand the characters!

message 9: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (caladhiel) I LIKE that idea Madeline! I'll have to keep that in mind!

message 12: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 4 comments well i little over 200 words but thats not really alot
and im going nowhere fast
omg i HATE this
the more i think about it maybe i have just lost it
the story i mean
u kno?
maybe it isnt worth it

message 13: by Madeline (new)

Madeline well maybe if you reread it and find it too be horrible and what were you thinking and blah blah blah, so on and so forth
but i wouldnt give up so easy
if you reread it and it is bearable then stick with it
or maybe you just have to put it down for a while but still keep it

message 14: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller Maybe just leave it alone for a little while, and then reread it and have a total brainstorming session with someone who has great ideas (your mom, friend, whatever) and then start writing again!
