Things you should know about each race. You should also keep this in mind whilst creating your charries.
HUMANOID RACES
Humans Humans do not have any magical powers, unless they are half of a race, and half of the other. They are greedy as Galaldriel said, "But the hearts of men are easily corrupted" and as Boromir demonstrated in the Fellowship of the Ring. They can be kind, though and have emotions. They are mostly on the bright side, but some change to side with Sauron, whereas others remain neutral/outcasts.
Elves Elves are strange folk. They are peace loving and are one like nature. The Elves are musical, warriors, and they are known to hold many festivities. Their powers include harmonizing with nature, climbing, riding, and most of them are excellent swordsmen/women and excel in archery. They are kind folk, whose hospitality is one to enjoy, but never underestimate an elf. They are a very proud and dangerous race. You do not want to get on the bad side of an elf, unless you wish to be digging your own grave. The Elves of Middle Earth include: Silvan Elves Mirkwood Elves Elves of Rivendell Wood Elves Water Elves
Dwarves Dwarves are short, stocky little people with an obsessive love for gold and other jewels. The castle entrance is in the side of a mountain, but the rest of the palace the dwarves have made. Dwarves are brutal fighters who quite like combat. They are loyal to one another.
Hobbits Hobbits. The small little people, even shorter than dwarves, and certainly less imposing. Hobbits are a people that do not like any adventures, or anything out of the ordinary. But one day Gandalf came along and gave little Bilbo Baggins a shove out of the door. The Hobbits like staying at home, they also like to dance, sing, and hold parties. They live in Hobbiton, Under and Over Hills, and The Shire (as a whole.)
Wizards There are 5 well known wizards in Middle Earth. Saruman the Wise, Gandalf the Grey, and Radagast. The other two are not mentioned. Gandalf is most well known in the Shire for his splendid fireworks. Saruman and Gandalf do not get along well, for Saruman is becoming darker, and more evil as the days pass.
GOBLINS
Goblins Orcs are technically Goblins. In The Book of Lost Tales the names Orcs and goblin are given to creatures who enslave and war with the Elves. Goblins have a taste for meat, especially that of poneys and Elves and Dwarves and Hobbits. They are brutal and disgusting creatures who follow the rule of Sauron and Saruman.
Orcs Orcs or Orks are a race of creatures who are used as soldiers and henchmen by both the greater and lesser villains of The Silmarillion and The Lord of the Rings — Morgoth, Sauron and Saruman. Although not entirely dim-witted and occasionally crafty, they are portrayed as miserable beings, hating everyone including themselves and their masters, whom they serve out of fear. They make no beautiful things, but rather design cunning devices made to hurt and destroy.
THE MONSTERS OF MIDDLE EARTH
Black Riders They are said to be Elves that were corrupted and consumed by darkness and evil. they are immortal, like their more human cousins. No-one ever knows exactly what is underneath the hood.
Dragons All of Tolkien's dragons share a love of treasure (especially gold), subtle intelligence, immense cunning, great physical strength, and a hypnotic power called "dragon-spell". They are extremely powerful and dangerous, though they mature very slowly. Because of this, Melkor's first attempts to use them against his enemies fail, as they are not yet powerful enough to be useful in battle. Despite their evil beginnings, they are not purely destructive by nature, as can be seen by Smaug, who wants to be left in peace, though he did force out the dwarves in the Lonely Mountain. Dragon-fire (even that of Ancalagon the Black) is described as not being hot enough to melt the One Ring; however, four of the Dwarven Rings are consumed by Dragon-fire.
Trolls While in Norse mythology, the Troll was a magical creature with special skills, in Tolkien's writings they are portrayed as evil, stupid, with crude habits, although still intelligent enough to communicate with a known language.
