Brent Kelley | 20 comments I'm very excited to be bringing you Chuggie and the Bleeding Gateways, folks! Release date is Friday, June 14, 2013. For the first year, half of the money I make off this book is being donated to the American Cancer Society. What's the book about? Glad you asked...

"Chuggie, the perpetually intoxicated embodiment of drought, returns for another adventure in Chuggie and the Bleeding Gateways. It s been five days since the Desecration of Stagwater, and our hero has work to do. With the help of some ghostly new cronies, he searches for a lost little boy, explores a new world, and does his drunken best to avoid the clutches of pursuing Steel Jacks. What are the secrets of the bone dagger he carries? What allies and enemies will he find in the wilderness? Where will he get more booze?"

If you've got comments or questions about Chuggie, let me hear 'em!

Brent Kelley | 20 comments First I'm going to give this thread a bump. Then I'm going to go remind people that it's here and it's awesome. Then maybe a coffee or a bottle of dark beer or something. I don't know. Thirsty, though. If I make coffee, I'll have to put it in the fridge for a little bit anyway, because it's actually kind of hot out. Too hot to put anything hot in my belly, that's for sure. Except stew, but it'd have to be a very special kind of stew... Uncle Borjo's Old Timey Infiloi Stew. Because, while that stew is hot, it's also pretty cool. But that's all nonsense. This is a serious post with serious intent. Not just some rambling, pointless jibber jabber that goes nowhere. I'm a serious man, as anyone who knows me will tell you. Except the liars. But THOSE guys are already on my list. This next sentence is just for them: You better clean up your act! Okay, now back to everybody: Hello again! Sorry about the little aside just then where I only talked to those other guys. It won't happen again. Actually, it might. I'm not willing to make that kind of promise. Ugh, but who cares about any of this? Not YOU, that's who! I'm honestly amazed that you're still reading this. Or maybe you're just skimming this paragraph. I guess that's okay. You're only cheating yourself. Much like Robb Stark cheated himself (in George R.R. Martin's epic Song of Ice and Fire saga) when he didn't marry that guy's daughter and then the guy had him and his pals killed to death at the Red Wedding. I didn't actually read those books. I've been watching the series on HBO. Now that True Blood has started up again, we watch that, too. It's okay. Pam's my favorite. Did you ever watch Eastbound and Down? Funny stuff. At least the first two seasons were. But I'm not here to talk about all the original, quality programming HBO has to offer. I'm here to... Oops! I'm not sure what I'm doing right now. Hey, it happens, right? To some people more than others, I guess. Does anybody remember the Kid Video cartoon from the 80s? Didn't think so. What about Thundercats? Yeah, I knew you remembered that one. Snorks? Ha! Did I read somewhere they remade Thundercats? I hope so. I like the idea, and Cheetara was pretty hot. The problem is the show is pretty much unwatchable in this day and age. Just a sec. I'm gonna open another tab and get some answers... Looks like they DID remake the cartoon in 2011. Anime-style? I want live action with CGI. Like GI Joe: Retaliation. LOVED that movie. Am I rambling? No, I guess not. Another movie I liked was Cloud Atlas. Watched them both on the 15 hour flight from Johannesburg to Atlanta. Little tiny screen, but you take what you can get. I watched some others, too. Even the first part of Goonies, but by then it was time to land. That's a long flight. Sometime just sit in a chair for 15 hours. Do like I did: sit for 7 hours and 25 minutes, then get up for 10 minutes, then sit for another 7 hours and 25 minutes. You know, just to see. But, hey, I signed up for it. I knew what I was getting into. Here's something sad- the whole time I was in South Africa, I only saw 2 baboons, and I was in a van driving high speed both times. Barely got a glimpse. Sigh. Also didn't get charged by a rhino or an elephant. Some people say that's a good thing. Man, what a story that would have been! Maybe I should make up a story about getting charged by a rhino. No, no, I couldn't. I'm a lot of things (visionary, genius, innovator, shaman, M.D., astronaut, etc.) but I'm not a liar. To end this post, I'll quote the last dying words of Steve Jobs: "Brent Kelley RULES, bitches!"*

*still awaiting verification from the Smithsonian, but I think it's a safe bet.

Brent Kelley | 20 comments Why is Goodreads so quiet these days? I'm not having it. If I have to sit on here and jibber jabber all by myself, then that's what I'll do! And if I have to get drunk while I do? So be it.

Ian Welke (mewelke) | 12 comments Did someone say "drunk"? I'm in.

Brent Kelley | 20 comments Chuggie Update!
Chuggie and the Prisoner Gods is cooking right along. There are some really cool things that I can barely keep my mouth shut about. Singing, maybe some dancing. A foot. GAH! Release still scheduled for September. What a magical time that will be.

Gregor Xane (gregorxane) | 4 comments September? All right. I've got some catching up to do.

Brent Kelley | 20 comments I gotta be honest, I've been watching a lot of PAW Patrol lately. It's a cartoon on NickJunior, and it's my son's absolute favorite. As such, Chuggie and the Prisoner Gods has a LOT of puppies doing rescues and solving problems. In the scene I'm working on right now, Chuggie and the pups are returning an eagle's egg... AND learning important lessons about recycling!
