Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 648 comments Wow, there's a bunch in this genre I like, probably because it's the most common era for HRs. Will have to scan my shelves and come back with some answers :)

Christine Feldman Are Jane Austen's books considered regency?

message 5: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14539 comments I think they are set in that period but there is some controversy on weather they can be considered historical since they were written during that time and it wasn't historical back then. They are considered classics for sure.

Roberta2 | 17 comments Here are some of my favorites. Maybe other people will list theirs because I am always looking for recommendations.

Regency authors with too many favorites books to list them all:
Jane Austen
Mary Balogh
Joan Wolf
Georgette Heyer (some of hers are Georgian)
Julie Anne Long (I think they are Regency--may be EH)
Mary Jo Putney (Fallen Angel series)
Edith Layton (the "C" series; The Duke's Wager; Lord of Dishonor
Candice Hern , esp. A Change of Heart
Laura Matthews
Just for starters.

Here are a few single titles I love:
Diane Farr-- The Fortune Hunter
Charlotte Louise Dolan--Fallen Angel
Sherri Cobb South--The Weaver Takes a Wife and also her John Pickett Mysteris--love them

A new author I really like--Kelly Bowen

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Kelly Bowen looks intriguing, Roberta2. I haven't tried anything by her, but I see her Duke of My Heart (Season for Scandal, #1) by Kelly Bowen is out on audio. Hmmmm...

Roberta2 | 17 comments This was one I liked, Lisa Kay, and the beginning of the story is so much fun and not your average opening chapter.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments I got it on audio, Roberta2, but haven't had time to listen to it, yet.

This was a 5 star read for me, but the next book I bought by this author was 3 stars. So now I look for specials, wish list and libraries.
